I know, I know - A phrase coined by Alex Jones and therefore, for a lot of you, it will be immediately discounted for xyz...reason. But he does have a point

I've been following the Bundy Ranch Stand-off in Nevada, US, for that last couple of days. It takes a while to get to the real meat and veg. truth of the situation. This thing is being spun all ways so it needs a bit of time to find the balance.
Starting from the horses mouth:
I'm not gonna influence your perception with anything further...the rest is up to you.

The main point of this thread is to point you to a neat little website that, although highlighting US constitutional legislation, points us to evidence of the rights that have been trampled on, ignored or forgotten by us Britons. Most of the freedoms claimed by the American colonies are derived from English Common Law.
In fact, it seems that the American colonies broke away from England MAINLY because our monarchy and government were not only riding roughshod over the rights of Britons at home but also it's citizens in the colonies.
If you look at the Articles and Amendments of the US constitution and Bill of Rights it might surprise you to see how much British/English Consititutional and Common law is the strengthening foundation for US independence.

We could all do with taking a closer look at those laws because where we lost freedoms, the colonists re-gained them, with the same arguments and legislation we had at our hand. What we are seeing with the latest stand by Bundy is history repeating itself. Will the modern US lose those hard gotten freedoms like we have done over our centuries of apathy?

Whatever your opinion or understanding - it definitely isn't about the grass...or tortoises :D

I've been following this myself for the last few days. It's certainly shaping up to becoming very interesting, and like you say its not about cattle or tortoises. It's agenda 21 and the people drawing a line in the sand and saying enough is enough.

@QS
Agenda 21 (A21) through and through. I don't think anyone in the UK realises how powerful that agenda is. In the US they are starting to reap the bad fruit of A21 - but in the UK it is still hiding under the apron strings of "enviromentalism". Don't get me wrong, I have huge concerns about how our environment is being polluted but I also recognise that A21 is so much more than people realize.

Here is the crazy thing: Fracking is being promoted as an "environmentally safe option" to other energy generation methods. This is obviously a flawed argument - but the greenies fall for this crap at every turn. The naivety in the "Green" movement is pitifully apparent. They are defending the very Wolves that seek to devour us. :O

There are reports that the cell towers were shut down at the Bundy ranch in southeast Nevada.
Several militia members reportedly arrived at the ranch today.

The feds brought out dogs to sic on the freedom protesters.
All because a rancher is letting his cattle graze on farmland – the same parcel of land his family has used for over a century.
My sister lives in Overton. It's about 33 miles from the "protest" site. She's packing and getting out of town untill it's all over. We've been talking and she sais the Feds are in town and plenty of protrsters. She also said thah what isn't being covered by the media, and even then to a small degree, that their are militia there from all over the country with plenty more on the way. I'm seing if she'll get some pics and hopefully an estimate of just how many are there.

It will be interesting to see where this goes. Could this end up being the first battle of a new civil war? Will our grandchildren read about the Battle of Bundy Ranch in school?

Sorry if my snippets don't tie in with your thread WH...I just found these 'breaking news' this morning.

@ AngelM
Your snippets are great - its all relevant. :)
More breaking news - I wondered how long it would be before someone cottoned on to what the real reason was for trying to kick this rancher off his land
....A corporate land grab by a Chinese energy firm no less :killinme: And in cahoots is a US senator who, it seems has a son with a vested interest.
You couldn't make this stuff up.

BREAKING: Senator Harry Reid behind BLM land grab of Bundy ranch.
The Bureau of Land Management, whose director was Sen. Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) former senior adviser, has purged documents from its web site stating that the agency wants Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s cattle off of the land his family has worked for over 140 years in order to make way for solar panel power stations.

Ah ok.....so here's another little snipet for you...
It started when Darin Bushman, a Piute County, Utah, commissioner, called Collins about the Bureau of Land Management roundup of Bundy’s cattle in the Gold Butte area, about 80 miles east of Las Vegas. When the conversation ended, Bushman posted on Facebook that Collins said Utahns are “inbred bastards” and if they come to Clark County to support Bundy they “better have funeral plans.”

:jane:

PS...OT....but could you explain why I would be mentioned in you and Chands thread in rant please? :emb:

"How can BLM come in and say, "Hey, this isn't yours." Even though it’s patented from the state, you've always paid taxes on it. Our family has paid taxes for over 100 years on this place. We've got a deed to it. But yet they walked in and said it wasn't ours," said Henderson.

Alex is a wingtard. That aside, yeah there are a lot of good things in the constituion.

Odd that many that many that cite it as gospel tend to be determined to be neo-reactionaries.

I've always found him pretty clear; he calls for a return of constitutional government. Protections limiting the power of Federal government were deliberately written into the constitution to defend against, future, anticipated creeping dictatorial control.....very similar to the ones they were escaping by the declaration of independence from King George and England.
Smart guys those founding fathers; one could almost say prescient.

With Jones I think his failing, mainly, is in his presentation style and bombastic sometimes downright rude nature - but he is very rarely wrong in his sources of information. Yes his spin is often over dramatic but you could argue most people do need a verbal kick in the ass to get them to listen....instead of being drawn to the glamour of mainstream propoganda and dancing on ice celebrity dirge.
The message is valid but the messenger is on occasion "eccentric" to say the least.
If people balance his information with other, diverse but credible, sources there is always a stark reality and large kernel of truth in what he presents IMO.

So it was about the money all along.....with a little help from the environmental lobby and scary mega-death endangered tortoise hype. Why do the hand-wringing Greens always fall for the corporate interest bullshit?

Breitbart 4 Sep 2012: Harry Reid's Son Representing Chinese Solar Panel Plant in $5 Billion Nevada Deal

ENN scored big when Clark County commissioners unanimously voted to sell the Chinese company the public land for just $4.5 million, despite the fact that it was appraised at $38.6 million.

He's always railed, emphatically, against the "Republican/Democrat paradigm" and I take his word for that because pretty much all of his actions match his words.
Pretty much all of the Republican politicians he has had on have had a strong Libertarian leaning; Ron Paul being a case in point. He also has had a fair proportion of liberals on his show too, also with a Libertarian slant...Cynthia Mckinney for example. If I ever put my toe back on the political spectrum I would declare as a Libertarian. I'm an Anarchist (in the proper meaning) by nature - but any move by mankind to a system of anarchy will only be by a slow transitional process from, say Libertarianism, to a system with virtually zero governmental control. Why? because, mankind is simply too dumbed down and infantilized to give up the teat of the nanny state system and take on personal responsibility for their lives and understand that total freedom comes with a price and that all the stamping and demanding for "My Rights" also have an equally strong duty of responsibility to respect the rights of others and a moral responsibility to care for those genuinley less able to take care for themselves.
Humanity needs to make some big changes before they are fit for total freedom outside of politcal partys and their government enforced rules.
