Why isn't writing listed in the Category heading, huh? Huh, huh, huh? :conf: No one EVER includes us poor, little, isolated writers; slaving away over our hot keyboards so that you General Public can ignore our best efforts.

Anyway, I won't be ignored! I refuse to be ignored. :bat:

So, just to say, after a long struggle with formatting and all (most) associated pooter tasks (the thing is giving me aggro with the cover picture, Kindle are sorting it), I have successfully published one of my manuscripts onto Kindle. One down, four more to go, then I'm going to set up a little website and link them.

Then and only then will I accept being ignored.

Wow, cantata, that's brilliant! Well done! :)

I write poetry and short stories when the mood takes me. When I was a lot younger I used to write illustrated "graphic" stories - they were mainly fantasy. They caused much hilarity amongst my family and friends! :emb:

If I can locate some of my less embarrassing efforts I shall post 'em! :D

Thank you, Mandy. :spliff:  And yes, you must post some of your work on here (where novum has us writers, poets, graphic story-tellers and journos lumped together as "other related genres" ).

I've just started writing a short story - the first in ages! The reason I'm telling y'all is not to brag about it but to make sure I finish it - now I've told you about it, I have to, lol! :D

Will probably take a while, though!

@cantata ...You should use the 'myzone' link at the top there to keep all your stuff together girl

I made a book once. At the age of 12. A small work which reflected truley where I was at at that particular point in my life. It's the year I decided I wanted to be a witch and continued to want too be for the next 2 years. I'd had a very passionate affection for all things occult related since the age of about 8 which only grew over the years.

These witch rumours didn't start themselves ya know people... :coffee:

I still have that little book :emb:

@ Mandy: that's brilliant! short stories are a really good way to get back into the writing loop. I'm just wrestling with adding a novella I wrote last year to my Kindle list. I started it a couple of years before getting together with the father of my lovely daughter... who never stopped trying to block anything and everything I did. :D So I didn't get to complete it until 13/14 years after I started it. Writing never leaves. Keep at it!

@ pesky - you do know how big witchy stories are right now with the youngfolk of the world, don't you? :O You could be worth a billion pounds because of that manuscript! You ought to dig it out, polish it if need be and get it out there.

I have one of the kindle books listed up in the Trade Zone space, but I can't get the link to work. Ho hum. :D And when I've sorted this effin mess out with the publication of the novella, I'll add that.

:D

Oh you dear sweet woman... :D

It wasn't that kind of book. It was my book of spells, poems, stories and my 'family' ... no kidding :D

I drew each of these imaginery family members, including myself. I also drew the house I lived in as this witch and I made up an alphabet which I used at the time to do peoples heads in :gleek:

It's a pity there ain't a million quid in it... ;)

Every female supernatural - witches and angels, fairies - are ALL now portrayed as buxom Glamour girls in tiny tighty dresses, their bottoms stuck provocatively out behind them, and tiddly little wings that couldn't hold their bras up, never mind fly 'em through the heavens. :D

But the devils and demons are still just ugly blokes.

T'ain't fair. :)

@ pesky - that book has potential... mark my words! :D

Thanks, cantata! I used to write loads of short stories and poetry when I was younger, but have been stymied somewhat by my health problems. I often make up stories in my head though, still, ( :emb: ), especially when I can't sleep, so I thought "why not get some of it down on paper?!". We'll see how it goes!

Yes, I'm sorry about your health problems, Mandy. That's the pits. BUT, it does put you in some very good company - to name but one:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Louis_Stevenson#Childhood

Stevenson was often bedridden as a child and it was there he wrote stories about the adventures he would have if he was able to. All through his life he was thin and prone to bouts of severe illnesses; but, if he had been hale we might not have had Treasure Island, Kidnapped and the like.

Another is Elizabeth Barratt Browning, who developed her life-long illness at age 15:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Barrett_Browning#Early_life

So, following in their lead I can only wish you Good Luck with this new burst of creativity and I hope you get to feel much better very soon.

There will be the option to have multiple pages soon on the MyZone section it's currently in beta so it should be here on the site shortly.
