A song I wrote over the music of CDK of ccmixter. It's not very long, so it won't take up half your day :D

Wow, Silent Hill vibe. This could very well be on a Silent Hill game, specially if made into a longer, instrumental version without vocals. The melodies definitely have that feel. Are you doing the singing?

That's bloody awesome! I really like your voice a lot.i've got a rough backing track that i havent found a vocal for, i'd be well up for you giving it a go if you fancied it. It's pretty guitar based atm.

Musicality is a weird thing as some have it and others just don't... Some need a lot of practice while some learn it almost instantly. I don't believe into the weird notion that there's only "talent" and that's it as if you're born with it or not, its not that simple and gives way too much credit for the sick fetish of virtuosity that plagues the world... At least "our" world.

Sorry for lingering off topic here, in my experience, so called talent does less than third of the whole deal, the rest is practice and hard work. Some just learn faster than others. But there are people who just don't have it in them which I think is bit sad as music can give so much and make life enjoyable. :)

Nice, so you did all the vocals in one go? That's pretty good! It sounds overall quite nice, although I don't have a decent reference to use at home, sounds good on headphones. Good stuff, make more please. :D

Here's a link. It's a rough sketch of a tune really. I intended to write a vocal and do a final arrangement and mix but got stuck for lyrical inspiration. The bass is a bit loud atm tbh. The guitar in the 'verses' could be a bit busy for a vocal over it so may need dropping back a bit. Have a listen but no worries if nothing comes to mind or you just go, "sheesh dub, that sucks!" :D

Yeah, all of the songs I've done so far have been in one go. Although if my vocals continue to progress, then I'll definitely look into making more technical songs in the future.

The mixing and mastering is terrible by the way, so expect your ears to start screeching if you listen through some decent speakers. It's quite tricky trying to mix my voice though, as I've got a cheap and chatty condenser mic and a fair amount of background noise in my room.

Straight away I could hear melodies in my head, which is definitely a good sign, but I have to be honest and say that it might be a little too technical for me right now.

I'm still going to give it a go, of course. Although you haven't made the song available for download, so if you don't mind I'm just going to go ahead and grab it so it's there for the morning :thumbup:
