Has anyone on here actually heard of him? I imagine most people haven't, because he never had a big ass website, never sought fame, and never tried to hypnotize people with 10 hour sermons. He is, however, quite possibly the best researcher/investigator into the *paranormal* I've ever come across, and I can't recommend his books enough.

So it's just a heads up to the initiated few to tell you that Operation Trojan Horse has been reprinted, just over 40 years after it was first released.

If you've got any kind of interest in these subjects, but have never read John Keel, you should be ashamed of yourself
But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma,
a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

How is your research into conspiracy theorists going?

I'd be interested to read what conclusions you have come to.

I've heard his show on Radio 1 a few times.

I'll get my coat...

At one point I'd written just over 23,000 words, but then realised a lot of it was written in anger and heavily biased, so I completely scrapped it all and started again.

The question I started to ask myself, was, "where the fuck do these theories come from in the first place?" and I began to find answers. I realised a lot, if not all, of the theories concerning Freemasons and other secret or not so secret societies actually came from the Catholic church, and can be traced back via the Leo Taxil hoax.

I also found out that a lot of the information in conspiracy circles, regarding religion, can be traced back to a book called The Symbols Of Freemasonry and beyond. Written by, you guessed it, a Freemason. Do you see where I'm going with this?

Another real eye opener of a book, for me at least, is Messengers Of Deception. In the book Vallee tells a story of how a friend of his was invited to a meeting which eventually appointed Rael as a new 'spiritual' leader. That might not be mind blowing in itself, but a clear picture does begin to form, and ties in well with other stuff that I've researched.

Also, the ties between modern day conspiracy theory, and Nazism, are just startling. I've said it here before, but it's an overlooked fact that Freemasons and other secret society members where routinely tortured and killed in Nazi Germany, along with an unthinkable amount of Jews and other peoples. Who are the biggest perpetrators of this so called conspiracy that is being rammed down throats? That's right, Jews, Freemasons, and secret societies. And then we have the The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which Hitler was obsessed with. And we also have a book written by one of the most prominent conspiracy *researchers* which is entirely based on The Protocols themselves.

I really could go on and on, and I've made this as short as I can just to emphasize my point, but it's a slightly complicated subject for my puny mind, and it might take me some time to lay it out cleanly and finely pressed - but I genuinely believe there's something in it.

I might start a thread in the hope that I can get some help, I'm just not entirely sure if there's any real interest in it.
But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma,
a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

Thanks for posting that.

I'd totally forgotten about the Raelian brigade. Are they stillrattling collection tins for their landing strip in Jerusalem? :D :scotty:

That conspiracy theory origins might be found emanating from the church wouldn't be that much of a shock. A few thousand years of smearing its detractors and enemies has probably given it the edge compared with any other organisation.

Good luck trying to get to the bottom of it all. Keep a good supply of paracetamol and booze handy. :)

Cheers hugorune, appreciate the comments

And to be quite honest, a lot of it was research by proxy, as at one point I'd almost completely ditched the idea of researching conspiracy theories until I came into contact with Messengers Of Deception, and the fact that some 'spiritual' leaders are put there on purpose. Although that idea was always in the back of my mind after reading up on Drunvalo Melchizedek.

A slightly tenuous link, granted, but I just began to apply the same methods to the conspiracy theory scene and things began to weirdly make sense.

EDIT: I don't need paracetamol :D
