More people think BBC has bias to left than bias to right – poll

Utter nonsense. Just looking at the lists of guests on QT proves this to be myth perpetuated by the interests of the money folks.

The left doesn't exist anymore in UK politics, not since NEU-Labour basically.
You could say perhaps that 'respect' is authoritarian-left perhaps, the greens are not even left or anywhere near libertarian in my book either.

Some people still think the Labour Party is 'the left'. Thankfully this is reducing in number, but I still see it all the time on the Guardian's CIF. I've read a few books about the BBC, and they were all total shit apart from Peter Sissons' book, because they all made the assumption that the BBC is left-wing, even though there's absolutely no evidence for that view whatsoever.

Theres some really dumb people out there, I get the impression they think its left wing because it favours the middle class instead of the upper class? :D

The only possible reason I can see for it is because some sources that get a lot of media attention, and media itself, disparagingly refer to it that way. I think Cameron recently called Miliband a Socialist, for example. The Daily Mail certainly slates the BBC for being left-wing all the time (although I agree with its criticism of the corporate culture there, even though it's just motivated by them wanting to stick the boot in). It's easy to forget sometimes that there are a lot of people in the country who think that they're part of the establishment because they've got a car and a house and vote Tory, and that the parliament somehow represents their interests. And the Labour party stands opposite them in the House of Commons so they must stand for the opposite.

The BBC is biased toward the State, not the shifting colours of Government. It 'trades' on a Royal charter, not a government license. The BBC shills for the establishment and will set it's sights wherever it needs to in service of the State.

You are perhaps more on the nail than you know, Andy.

I belong to another forum (10 years now) and it is dominated by Greens and New Labour folks. They haven't banned me yet but they have made it clear that there is no place in the Third Way for dissention or even debate.

Its bound to as lets face it, it relies on a forced tax to pay for its useless existence.
If it had to compete with Sky/ITV etc then it'd be out of business in a few weeks because basically....its shit :D

Certainly it is easy to forget. Perhaps I want to.

After visiting Dawny this year, who explained some things to me, I realised how "left" Scotland really is, and in a good way too.

Clever girl is our Dawny :)

It's easy to forget because it would seem to be absolutely self-evident at the moment that the people are getting fucked every day of their lives, and are going to get fucked a lot more in the future. I tend to remember it a bit more because I live in a constituency which has always been Tory, and grew up in one in which they'd had the same Tory MP for decades (and he's still the MP).

Felixstowe and John Selwin Gummer.

I was known as a bad bastard because I collected for the striking miners' kids Xmas.

When I was 12.

Meant I git stabbed with a compass in the arm by a teacher's kid.

I hit him and I got suspended.

Kinda changes ones outlook on authority

You disagree that the BBC does a very good job of hoodwinking the people and promoting the status quo?

I wouldn't disagree with that, but ofc by 'doing a good job' I meant something different :p

It is NOT in any way a LW instrument. It pays lip service to LW "issues" and then denigrates the real ones. It is a Middle Class voice supporting the Royal Family system and is increasingly the voice of something even worse: the tyranny of money.

Mammon is moving in. And it will make us miserable as we were in the 19th century.

Fuck the conspiracies of Greys and Reptiles. These evil bastards are with us and share our lives.
