Christ, sounds like you have a severe tick problem.
I've heard in some places the only way to rid yourself of them is to burn the land and have no cattle on it for a whole year minimum.
They live via the cattle as its part of their disgusting lifecycle :/

I would keep guinea fowl if I were you...they eat the ticks.

They also have some nice eggs as an added bonus.

I love guineas! Don't know, though. My friends aunt tried that and, maybe her pin wasn't secure enough but they disappeared one by one. I have a feeling a hawk or owl was picking them off.

There is certainly a major infestation in these parts but it didn't used to be this way. These are the same woods I roamed with my BFF from age 12 to present. We rarely ever saw a tick back then. I moved to the city for a few years and when I came back; Tick Hell. Not sure if its the deer population, weather or just a conspiracy against me!

I had one of these eating on my breast once. Didn't know it was there until I tried to scrub 'a black bit' off in the shower and it started fucking moving! It was one of the most unpleasant experiences I don't wanna have happen again. Because of where it was too (another curse of having larger boobs!), it had been there for 3 days. If it hadn't got bigger and stood out, it maybe would've been there even longer than that! Still get the heebies thinking about it. My daughters had one on her 3 times over the years too.
