Hi, Does anyone here or no of anyone whose seen a black figure standing over you or even at the end of the bed, its like you are asleep and you wake up and you see a dark figure and I'm paralysed with fear can't move with fear hundreds of people have experienced it just google it,

I've talked to people like Councillors who think and have heard of this sleep paralyisis ,and they say the mind is a powerful thing under stress your mind can do some scary stuff. thats true to a certain degree
But all these other people can't be suffering stress a fatigue to bring this on

especially when you have to be drugged to make you sleep , oh and by the way what a great forum you lot have here

Is this figure one of the notorious "Hat Men"? I've heard a lot about how their appearance terrorises those who see them, but they don't seem to do harm - or do they? I don't know enough about them but they always sound to me to be particularly interested in just watching people.

It is odd that so many people from all over the world have independently and for a long time (way before the internet) reported seeing these Beings, and always give the same description of them.

Sleep paralysis is well documented and understood now.
The immobilising trigger in the brain, (present to stop us acting out our dreams whilst unconscious), fails to disengage prior to us awakening. As you are in a sleep transient condition, dream-like apparitions/hallucinations may also feature in the event.

Conversely, sleep walking is the failure of that same trigger to fully immobilise the sleeper.

The experiences I have had are not of seeing an actual figure - its been more like a dark entity in my peripheral vision often moving rather then in one place - I have also seen what I can only describe as 'claw like' hands and felt myself being touched - sometimes it is like someone putting a hand on me reassuringly others it has felt like being punched in the face or pinched. I often get sleep paralysis - or am trying to scream and can't - I haven't really looked into what causes these sensations or others who have experienced similar, am inclined to believe it is just me reliving bad memories or the weed

Once, I woke up with sleep paralysis and saw a tall, thin figure bent over me. It seemed like a "he" to me and was hooded, I never saw his face, and he was shadowy. He was bent over me in a strange way, like a 90 degree angle and was doing something with his hands around my chest area. I was very scared and it lasted maybe 20-30 seconds before I got control of my body again.

It might have possibly been caused by me taking Melatonin.
