Does anyone else think that Aliens would look just like us? I mean think about it the supposedly "top scientists" say that Earth has the perfect conditions for life so assuming you believe in Evolution wouldn't that mean for there to be life on other planets they must have the exact same conditions too evolve in the same way and in theory end up just like us? I suppose that is why Aliens are depicted as Humanoid creatures...

i dunno man. i dont think anyone could say for sure. a slight difference in gravity, terrain, atmosphere, it could have dramatic results after millions of years. dinosaurs.. they were everywhere then got wiped out. then mice or whatever evolved to take over.
humanoid shape is pretty handy. but then so is an octopus body. depends on your environment and it cant be exactly the same conditions we have for billions of years.

First, welcome Eyes-Wide-Open  I hope you don't mind if I call you EWO ;)

I see no reason whatsoever why any 'alien' would be anything like us or anything else on Earth. As bat said, even such things as force of gravity could throw up a huge range of differences. I see no reason why life has to be carbon based. Why not silica or perhaps even pure energy?

But can Evolution be trusted did Dinasaurs really get wiped out by meteors or was it "the flood" that nearly every ancient culture and religion refers too did Annunaki splice us hence we all are somewhat humanoid e.g Aliens, Humans etc for a start they have found dinasaurs bones with flesh still on that date them too be alive not so long ago and footprints I will find source later...

Personally I don't believe in Evolution for a start carbon dating doesn't hold it's own :P

I am of the opinion aliens look different because of their atmosphere, and the related effect of living under the surface of their planet, which has a serious effect on skin color and vision, plus they may not have the resistances to earths many bacteria's and air born and skin parasites,so what you see of them or if you see them it may be protective suit they wear, and not how they really look

I guess a major factor to consider is if you believe aliens exist in physical form or are a consciousness in energy form.

Most conspiracy theorists disregard anything the government/media tell us so just because they say they find dinosaur bones doesn't actually mean they where from when they state they are, or for that matter what they say they are.

Earth has the perfect conditions for life like ours to evolve... other types of life forms may breathe carbon dioxide or be able to take temperatures way hotter or way colder than those found on Earth. I think what the top scientists seem to forget is, not all life forms are like (or have to be like) humans, mammals, or any other kind of life form found on Earth. Earth has the prime condition for our type of life forms to evolve, that doesn't mean that ALL life forms in the universe require the same conditions or breathe/eat/drink the same, or anythings. Widening the spectrum might be in their best interest in the search for life... Also have to take into consideration that life forms evolving other places (who may or may not require the same conditions as Earthlings) may have evolved to the point of shedding their physical forms and exist on other planes of existence or other dimensions.

The base model can be trusted, though it is a theory that needs some modern reevaluation. There have been some cases where species were witnessed adapting and changing right before the eyes of the Scientific and Naturalist communities. I'm reminded of a species of Anole (Small insectivore lizards) from the Bahamas. They were wiped out on some small islands during 2004, after some harsh hurricanes. Scientists thought it would be interesting to test the evolutionary model by dropping a few on each island, and seeing what happened. To their surprise, they adapted rather quickly. Some adapted smaller hind legs to deal with the dense foliage. Having done so, they were more agile. It's not the first documented case of something like this happening. Shifts in species and adaptation in some cases is faster than traditional evolutionary models.

It makes sense that animals would have the ability to rapidly adapt. The climate of the planet is never a constant. It always changes, and always will. Factor that in with natural disasters, and shifts in geophysical formation, and they would have to be able to do that, or go extinct.

Along those lines, I would suggest that intelligent life that travels the galaxy is in all likelihood cyborg/AI.
They wouldn't fly in spaceships anymore so much as become the spaceships.

As for biological life elsewhere, looking at Earths history alone shows an amazing variety of weird creatures :)

What you are talking about is known as micro-evolution also regarded as Natural Selection that in no way proves Evolution if they could prove macro i.e one species changing into a complete other then Evolution would be true... It's like the DNA of humans and how some are superior they had better DNA from the parents the same way we inhertit colours of eyes and hair... If there is a pack of tigers that can run really fast and among it are a few slow ones the slow ones will inevitabley be easier to be killed for example and so the faster ones will breed leading too stronger muscles etc wether slow twitch or fast but you get my basic jist... :P

I believe were aliens to this planet, for one thing there isn't any areas that humans can survive year round without clothes, and if your in a tropical climate you may be able to go around naked, but you will be infested with various things that will eventually make you really sick.

We got dropped off here for some reason, the ancient texts of many cultures were extraordinary, and there knowledge was beyond anything created today about the mind and body.

Ancient India and yoga practice is a good example of knowing the human body.

Think about it, the one thing humans seem to be good at now is technological advancements, and this may be because we feel need to figure out how to get back to our home planet, because why the hell would you want to blast off into space where there is no natural way to survive it makes no sense.

Our crappy night vision, in comparison to other creatures, doesn't make any sense to me, either. Especially considering we are supposed to have evolved on a planet that has a night/day cycle.

Maybe, if we'd 'evolved' underground... :dunno:

I suppose, in evolutionary terms, it could be argued that it was a trait we no longer required since the advent of fire, and was dropped, but that is a bit of a leap for me.

At night, and without the means to make fire, we're pretty boned.

Sometimes, I like to think that aliens are just evolved humans from the future or another dimension. I suppose there are all sorts of different types of alien lifeforms. And maybe one of them made man "in his image".

Very good point, and it's true there is a type of cave fish that has no eyes,I think our ancient lost descendants lived in subterranean caves that had very few parasites to deal with and warm water rivers, they could go to the surface, but the atmosphere may have become toxic, because of a planet that was going through it's end or orbiting away from their sun and getting to cold to sustain life.
Mars fits this description, that's where I think we came from

There are many different kinds of ETs. Some look just like us, some don't. Our form is very common. I speak to 'the blondes' AKA Nordics. They are shaped just like us, blonde hair. Others look different. Like greys.
