I've been looking for this on Youtube, and just found it. I don't think I could stomach watching another episode, but I saw a bit of one of TV one day, which was quite enough for me:

In the episode I saw, at no stage was it explained to them that it's not inevitable that people have to sit in factories in Indonesia and work like slaves for a pittance, it is in fact due to the existing economic paradigm. While we should be aware that there are people less fortunate than ourselves, I would question the legitimacy of taking a load of kids to places like Indonesia and the Philippines, and telling them that they should be more like the Indonesian people who are forced to obediently work their fingers to a bone for slave wages in phenomenally boring and repetitive work because the economic system demands it of them.

This was on during the summer and used to come on in the afternoons so I caught parts of it and you're right in the points you've raised. I found it all very sad to be honest. During a couple of the episodes, the program managed to reunite familys (consisting of kids and mothers being split up mainly) that hadn't seen each other for a couple of years due to them being in different countries and sending money home. I guess the producers felt redeemed at the 'good deeds' they accomplished because of this whilst missing the point by a proverbial mile.

The actual working conditions in the factory in the OP vid were no worse than many British workplaces to be honest.

Getting paid just £3 per day as opposed to £6 per hr to tolerate them is the only real difference...
