New video is up. :) This time not Edge Of Sanity but a song from a popular late eighties/early nineties childrens program called Rölli. Rölli is a finnish troll, a funny character who thinks he's really frightening, but is mostly just funny. The songs' called Itsensäpelottamislaulu. The guy who invented the Rölli character also wrote all the songs to the program.

Does it ever irritate you to see drummers who are nowhere near as good as you in really massive bands?

Holy crap WUB, did you just say that? :O You got any examples? Lars Ulrich does not count, he's just siffering from chronic lack of practice these days.

I haven't really thought of it that way... Usually I only see those who are so much more skilled than I am. All my friends constantly bombard me with videos of extremely talented drummers, its sort of fun, but on the other hand, it can also demoralize.

This has absolutely nothing to do with my music, except that I'm not going to work on any kind of music today. I just visited a local second hand shop and here's what I found, over sixty Phantom comics I didn't have before, and I got it for cheap price too! So, I'm going to just sit back, pop a few beers and Immerse myself into the fascinating and mythical world of my favorite comicbook hero. :D

The shopkeeper told me that kids these days don't read comics any more, he said business is slow... He had a glare in his eye when I just kept stacking the comics, he even asked me "Are you really buying these?" As if he couldn't believe his eyes. :chuckle: That's what happens to old geezers who run second hand shops when they're face to face with a real collector. Heck, I got over half of Finnish Phantom comics from 1980's now, 146 issues, only miss 114 to make 1980's collection perfect. And I also found the oldest issue I have so far, number 16, 1973.

So, this is what I'm up to atm:

Do drummers not suffer RSI a lot?

Some do, others don't. Its quite common, but I know some guys who never have any problems, no matter how much they practice.

I've had 'tennis-elbow' for like million and one times. I have also suffered from some mild symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome... Its never gone bad though, if I get that numbness which goes with carpal tunnel thing I just take a break. Tennis elbow sucks big time, I've had to have long rest periods because of that.. Tennis elbow means usually two to five weeks rest. Haven't got anything severe in years though, I know the symptoms quite well, so I know when I need some rest or stretching.

Anyway, my technique is not good enough to totally acoid all RSI symptoms and I also play very energetically, so some times too much is too much. I'm not playing today, I've been tearing apart this kind of things (mostly by hand, we don't have a crowbar. at the wrokshop unfortunately.) for few days at work:

Add two to five hours drumming practice a day on top of that... = sore wrists, so its time to take two days break I think.

You might not be aware of this guy, but I'm sure you'd be better with one hand.

This is a joke BTW, just in case there's any confusion, but he was a very poor drummer indeed.
