I hereby present to you:

ANTABUS LOGO Rust Zps9300bd9a

Fast paced, energetic incarnation of 1980's style thrash metal. Started out as a joke about word Antabus(Thanks Jukka;)) mixed into song/album names, then developed into an idea of a band, which would have name and lyrical concepts based on these ideas, soon it developed into reality, as a fun sideproject at first. It didn't take long for the fun side project to evolve into a band, more serious one, with a full line-up, ready for playing live.

At the moment, Antabus has the classic four man line-up, I play drums, Janne Väätäinen does Vocals and rhythm guitar with Pekka Korhonen on lead guitar and Juho Vaarala on bass. All we still need is a fulltime vocalist. In the mean time, Janne will do vocals both on record and live.

We started to write our own material right at the start, Janne had some kick ass riffs, from his previous thrash project, Tapa! ready to be re-arranged, and on this basis we wrote three full songs, these added with a cover of Metallica's Hit The Lights, form material of our debute demo release, Antabus Reaction, which can be listened in its entirety on my youtube channel @ www.youtube.com/user/Noitavasara?feature=mhee

This demo will be available on cd-r and c-cassette in near future.

Antabus will play first time live 16.3.2013 in Lappeenranta, Finland. :D Further gigs in small venues are also in sight, nothing planned for other coutries atm. (Damn, I would love to have some gigs in Europe, there's ton of good places to play at... I wish we find sombody to arrange something in future. ;) )

Here you go, our first song, Rebel No More, is dedicated to ex SZ member black dog. Enjoy this you troll fuck and come again to tell me how my drumming sucks. Here, have nice read of the lyrics:

ROFLOL can`t you tell?
OMG WTF does this mean?
FOAD (Google) translator won`t help me
Even SOS (sign) has changed it`s meaning

Is the world going deaf or am I insane?
Anti-social networks are here to stay
What is wrong with the youth of today?
Discipline is the only way!

To become a rebel takes more than you got
Put down your weapons or you will be shot
Continue this way, and I`ll knock on your door
And that is your last day, rebel no more

This is supposed to ease our communication
I think it has more to do with your self-esteem
Belong to a group, any group, no matter what
You can be huge in internet, but in reality, you`re not!

Maybe it`s easier for you, but it`s twice as hard for me
Stop it when you can, you fool, or my fist is what you'll feel
The things you leave behind, you find in front of you.

I'm stuck at work and the sound on this pc is shite.

I will annoy my neighbours with it when I get home in a bit. :)

Thanks for your replies. :D Here's a logo I just made... The normal version is just black/white, one coloured one, I put some rusted metal thingie to it, looks cool, I might use this for a sticker to be put on bassdrumheads.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the band logo is my work too, I drew the base for it, and our guitarist made the final version of it...

Just listened to the Metallica cover (the last is the first Iclickd and my first thought was "tight".

For those unfamlar with the term "characterized by a polished style and precise arrangements in music performance " and I think my favourite example is Thin Lizzy. :notworthy:

That come from practice practice practice and together. Means you guys are very professional in what you do.

(my broher was a bass player in a group and ae is a qualified sound engineer- he taught me a lot)

onnitteluni

Having played in groups and orchestras I have some idea of how much wrok and dedication and love of music is involved.

Thank you Mikey!

The 'tallica cover is a interesting piece, mainly because we made it very faithful to the original demo recording... Lyric arrangement is quite close to it, the 'No Life 'til Leather' version. And the drumarrangement is quite thoroughly thinked, I even rehearsed some of Ulrichs 'mistakes', meaning the little speed ups he does on some fills etc. Small nuances of his drumming, this was rather easy, because metallica's drumparts are quite simple and straight forward. I think we did quite good job on this one... On the drumtrack, there's one big mistake though, in the chorus part, there's supposed to be a 16th note doublebass triplet thing, it goes more or less wrong, this was because the screw keeping my left pedalbeater on place was not tightened enough, so the beater kept going close and closer to the bassdrumhead. That drumtrack was the first and only take we made, I thought it's good enough for a demo even with the doublebasspattern going tits up at the chorus. :D

Glad to hear you liked, listen to the originals too and tell me what you think!

Haha, it must be the mustache... He's thinner and younger than Lemmy, maybe he'll look more like him when we get older.. :band:

Hmm... Actually the guy there in the elevator, is he crazy or something? His behavior is quite bizarre... Why would somebody trapped in the elevator paint the walls with his own shit? After crapping all over his shirt.. Then wear the shirt and at the end sleep over his own crap. Doesn't make sense.

The song, i dont like it either, drummachine.. Not my cup of tea. Or cup of shit in this case. :hahano:

Ok, the first live gig with Antabus is now safely behind. I had a blast! literally! I wasn't perfect, but first gigs are always first... It's like sex really. Anyways, we had a small audience, maybe some fifty - seventy people maybe, we played only a short set, just 30 minutes or so. There were four other bands, they all used my drums, surprisingly, all the other drummers did their thing in a professional matter, nobody destroyed or stole any of my equipment, I actually got some very nice feedback about my gear.

I also played a short drumsolo, that's always so much fun... We're playing live next saturday again, I hope guys will let me play longer solo then. Anyways, I'm upping the videos to youtube atm, will post links here in a minute. :D The soundquality is bit crappy, don't mind that, this is supposed to be old school thrash anyway so I hope crappy soundquality will be forgiven.
