Not going to post the whole thing because it's pretty long, but well worth reading if you get the chance.

The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.

Whilst i don't entirely agree with chomsky and find some of his perspectives erroneous and blinkered, have to say that's a good interview.
My mind connects part of it to the story of the hung anarchists that oi posted in the on this day thread.
On some levels, the resistance has been trated much more severely in times gone by. The accompanying rhetoric was also far more graphic than now...
Which as chomsky says, is largely a pr exercise.
Now, as Huxley predicted, we are nearing the ultimate revolution. A point where the folk are so self centred that there can never be another revolution.

Or so tptb would like to think.

I have a 16 year old son. I am often both impressed and encouraged by how clued up and active a lot of his peers are...they also seem to do a lot of helping eachother out. Sometimes to my chagrin when i get told me boy blew 50 quid on taking mates to the pictures or summat...i have to have a word with meself about that occasionaly. ;)

Oh and Icke....

Me boy's never heard of you. Or you Jones... Or you any other conspiraguru...

It's interesting and encouraging to read about your son and his friends.

I also agree with you on Chomsky. I have found that I agree with the majority of his views, but not all of them. I have great respect for what he has done with regard to US foreign policy which has probably been the best published critique of it. I think what he basically believes in, though, the "democratisation of institutions", is not far from what I would like to see.

I wrote a little article about Huxley the other day, so you might like to read it:

Yes he's spot on in so many ways. It's clear what his limitations are and why he has them. If weighed against his profound input, they're negligible.
Great article on Huxley btw.
I am still highly concerned that things are already too far gone but as i said, the next generation gives me some semblance of hope that we aint quite done yet.
