Self-sufficiency is the state of not requiring any aid, support, or interaction, for survival; it is therefore a type of personal or collective autonomy. The term self-sufficiency is usually applied to varieties of sustainable living in which nothing is consumed outside of what is produced by the self-sufficient individuals. Examples of attempts at self-sufficiency include simple living, homesteading, off-the-grid, survivalism, DIY ethic and the back-to-the-land movement. Practices that enable or aid self-sufficiency include autonomous building, permaculture, sustainable agriculture, and renewable energy. The term is also applied to limited forms of self-sufficiency, for example growing one's own food or becoming economically independent of state subsidies. What an informative and practical instructional vid, feather. Thank you for sharing!

I taught myself ma sewing skills from tinterwebz. It's really quite useful in place of a mother who gives a shit.
What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow: Our life is the creation of our mind.

I've learnt sooooo much from tutorials and forums on tinterwebz. It's kind of an instant source for info/techniques when you come up against a knowledge wall. In the past you'd have to find someone in the know. Now you just type watch/listen and put it into practice until you have mastered it. Big up tinterwebz!!!

There is nothing like seeing it done first hand like the hand in the avatar window holding the same tool as the guy in the video, the Lazzlo Vass workshop have some fantastic craftsmen.

those hands could be mine but mine were taught by an eaqual master, now one sees what I was trying to share with my whole not just talk about it.

Just saying.

Your welcome phe, I could teach you how to make some for yourself and then you could take the life skills with you to do the same. Its not all about self but about the whole and as a whole society has a much.better chance at surviving on their own terms.

Shoes isjust one of many ways to walk tall and look the world rigjt on the eye.
