Self-sufficiency is the state of not requiring any aid, support, or interaction, for survival; it is therefore a type of personal or collective autonomy. The term self-sufficiency is usually applied to varieties of sustainable living in which nothing is consumed outside of what is produced by the self-sufficient individuals. Examples of attempts at self-sufficiency include simple living, homesteading, off-the-grid, survivalism, DIY ethic and the back-to-the-land movement. Practices that enable or aid self-sufficiency include autonomous building, permaculture, sustainable agriculture, and renewable energy. The term is also applied to limited forms of self-sufficiency, for example growing one's own food or becoming economically independent of state subsidies. Now that the days are heading towards the light, here is a thread to says what you did on the day, how your actions helped others and saved any pennies.

Today, I cut up and chopped our logs for the next fortnight, and shared a portion of our still warm current cake with our oldest neighbour 85 years young, talked and ate and relaxed.

Not what you're after app but I've done little today due to being rather unwell and have zero energy. Not had a bug for quite a longtime and this one's very strange. Felt quite pathetic all day as it goes, hence posting in this thread :emb: :P :emb:

Today I came across a homeless man and his two dogs trying to take cover just up the road from where I live...He was playing on my mind, so I went to him with a blanket and money.....He accepted the blanket, but not the money...telling me that he had a bank account and enough money to survive.
He could easily have taken the money, but choose not to. I have a lot of respect for this man and can't help wondering how he is and what will become of him.
