ok its not symbolism in movies, but it is kind of symbolism+subliminal programming for discovering and steering yourself
so anyway. timothy leary came up with the 8 circuits as a model for the evolution of consciousness. as we grow the circuits come on-line.
1 biosurvival
most basic circuit, active as dependent babies. we learn if something is good to us, or dangerous - and whether we should go to it or avoid it. this circuit defines our attitudes to trust or distrust through life.
2 emotional
activated as toddlers. now we have wants and needs. this circuits imprint defines our emotional behavior through life and how we react as either dominant or submissive to demands.
3 dexterity/symbolism
this is the left side thinking of the brain - logic, math etc. we start thinking in three dimensions. 1st circuit = x axis - forward/back 2nd circuit = y axis - up/down. 3rd circuit = z axis. - left/right. see how it works?
4 social/sexual
this circuit is active for our societal interactions, we make homes and families. we have children and this continues our tribes existence. so this is a 4th dimension to our brains of time.
^ all these are left brain circuits and represent methodical/mechanical and learned behaviours that will dominate our actions. they came on-line in order for us to survive as a race of animals
v these are right brained circuits and are abstract and need to be activated on purpose or by accident, or they remain dormant. they aren't necessary for basic survival, so its optional, but if we evolve they give more cerebral/intellectual fulfilling experiences
5 neurosomatic
this is a 5th dimension, where we become a part of space and time instead of existing in it. we feel realities, instead of seeing them. its orgasms and being high and meditation
ok now hold onto your pants because it gets more out there from hereon in.
6. neuroelectric
this circuit allows the brain to become aware of its own programming and step beyond it. a self reflection, but with billions of mirrors and being able to see them all, and all the possibilities/realities that come from each. its a circuit that he thought could allow telepathy and communications with things outside our solar system.
7. neurogenetic
this circuit is to access the data contained in our dna, all the generations that contributed to it, the unconscious collective knowledge, reincarnations/past lives. its near death experiences where we transcend time and see futures and past.
8. psychoatomic
this is where space and time, distance, anything physical is irrelevant. its outside of our reality/dimension/universe. its being one with everything that ever was/ is/ will be. its becoming god to talk to god. exist everywhere, even for just a microsecond, since time is irrelevant in this circuit. not just feeling of interconnections between everything, but being the interconnections between everything.
ok so the first 4 are 4 dimensionally constrained, mechanical, survival based left brain circuits. they are primitive and act in response to stimulus.
5-8 are right brained, artistic/abstract/psychedlic. beyond logic and rules. they act in ways that are unconditioned or predictable.
as you can guess, leary had drugs for each of those circuits.

2 - alcohol
3 - coke etc.
4 - sex hormones/pheromones
5 - weed
6 - shrooms/peyote
7 - lsd
8 - ketamine
