The parallel internet, it is good to know it exists,
But not to get in there. 96 percentage of internet is there, dealing with drugs, money laundering, weapons sale,
Murderers, paedophilia, prostitution, mafia etc,

What Is The Deep Web? Why Is It So Dangerous?

Source: The Matrix

The idea of an underground internet where anything can be bought or sold may seem like an alien concept to some. However, this world does exist. Hidden away from major search engines and unreachable from normal internet browsers, the world of the deep web is a dark (and sometimes scary) place where illegal activities run the show. Guns, drugs and a whole manner of other illegal things lurk just below the surface of the internet.

Imagine it this way. The internet is like an ocean and we are fisherman. Normally, our nets just scrape the surface to get everything we need. However, there are depths which cannot be reached under normal circumstances. These we shall call the deep internet. Under the right circumstances (i.e with the right nets) anyone can access this information with little trouble at all.

Personally, I do not agree with many of the uses of this place and so will not be telling you how to get there. The worrying thing however, is that it’s really not that hard to find out how to access it. If anyone can reach it then surely there must be some cause for worry.

This leads on to the question of why governments do not all work together to rid the world of these places...

Why Do They Not Ban These Sites or Remove Them?

The answer to this is simple... They can’t.

The deep web operates with such a level of anonymity that anyone accessing these sites is in effect totally anonymous and therefore cannot be traced. It is probably not a totally fool proof system, but I would say that the chances of catching a person on the deep web are very slim indeed. Even payments on many of these websites are nearly totally anonymous as they operate in the decentralised anonymous currency of bitcoins. For those that don’t know, this currency is effectively online only and so names or personal details need be included in transactions. This would effectively make someone near fully anonymous when making transactions on this place. This is why I feel it to be extremely dangerous. In theory, I could buy drugs off of the internet within an hour and then have them delivered to my house the next day. The thought of that really worries me. Particularly when weapons are so freely available.

Despite all the doom and gloom though, there are perhaps some positive uses of this service. This is no way a justification of all of the negative ones which appear to go on however.

What Are The Positive Uses of The Deep Web?

Beyond all of the criminal activity that lurks on the deep web there is in fact some positive activities going on too. For example, in recent uprisings against dictatorships in Africa and the middle east the deep web has been used to show the atrocities of what has happened to the world so that we can see what is going on there. Many of the videos from Syria and countries like that will have been posted on the deep web first before they reach the main internet outlets (such as youtube) because of the fact that a person’s anonymity can be kept when uploading to the deep web. No one can trace their IP and hunt down where they live. Therefore, the deep web has perhaps made it easier to communicate in countries where oppressive regimes rule the show.

Perhaps though, this is just me trying to seek some light in a sea full of darkness. Certainly, the negative uses of the deep web outweigh the positive. One man’s freedom fighter is another mans terrorist.

Some of you may be left wondering why I bothered to post this...

Why Post About This At All?

The simple answer of it is that I want to educate. Many people in our society see the world through rose tinted spectacles. It took me 5 minutes to find out about the deep web. British newspapers have even published articles on it...

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/deep-web-d...ns-assassins-1337131

My closing message to you is this.

In order to access things like this you have to want to access them. You cannot simply open up firefox (or whatever browser you use) and access these things. Personally, I would rather live in a world of ignorance and ignore that these things go on. My point though, is that they do and that we should not be so naive about things that go on in the world. All I can hope is that in the future they devise some way of limiting this as at the minute it all seems a bit crazy to me.

Undoubtedly such activities exist but this "story" is just a boogie man scare piece and is there to soften people up to accepting surveillance and censorship.

deep web isnt just tor, its things that arent indexed by search engines like google etc
but tor is a fun trip. silk road is great. theres pdf libraries and a lot of other things, but tbh the majority of it is bs taking opportunity of the skerry anonymous unknown factor.
its like when you are a kid and you go to a flea market and there are ninja stars, butterfly knives and carnies.

but the the real problem of tor is not hitmen or the ateam and mail order cocaine. its CP. pedos use it to distrubute pix, movies and rape stories.

but i recommend you try it out, go for a browse around. DL vidalia suite, find tor directory with onion URLs and explore.
stay away from mouth breathers in sweat pants and thick glasses with mystery links and you'll be ok

Many. Most things in the Deep Web can be Bought using Bitcoin, that way money leaves no trace, since practically everything there is illegal.

Bitcoin transactions can be traced via IP, they need to be washed before being withdrawn and deposited ;)

It could be quite dangerous for the folk who aren't tekkie minded , who may click on things that they may well learn to regret .

There is plenty of sick stuff floating in space , most stuff that your ordinary joe would rather not comprehend , nevermind stumble across .

So easy.

You mentioned some lyrics once before that marked you out as a Celtic supporter.
I KNEW mentioning Gallowgate would get your little sectarian G string pinging off your piles.
Thanks for proving me right.

The really worrying thing about the deep web, is that as things stand right now, it seems to be far more in tune with the needs of its users than the regular internet. At least on the deep web (a place, I might add, that I have never been) a person can fool themselves into thinking they have any anonymity what so ever. Here on the old fashioned internet however, it is impossible to believe in ones own anonymity, because it simply does not exist!

The thing that concerns me most about it, is that in terms of the level of freedom it's users have, it is more in line with the original vision of the World Wide Web, conceptualised by Sir Tim Berners Lee, than it's more legitimate, less criminal rife counterpart. Frankly I think that it is appalling that internet controls as they are now, combined with the various intelligence networks tomfoolery, has lead to a situation where potentially criminal enterprises, and individuals have MORE, freedom on the web, than ordinary folk, on the ordinary web. THAT is far more worrying to me, than either the fact of the deep webs existence, or any activity which occurs within it.
Oh SMEG!!
