First of all, thank you Frog for that very eloquent and honest post.
Secondly, I'd like to clear something up that, as owner/founder of SZ, I feel is more to do with myself than it is with either Novum or Frog.
I've noticed that since the announcement on friday that there seems to be amongst some of the membership the feeling that I have 'betrayed the trust' that they placed in me when they joined SZ. That I have let the community down somewhat by just upping sticks and abandoning SZ in order to swan off and do my next thing etc. That I don't really care what happens to this place because of TZ. That I have in a way 'abandoned SZ to the sharks', and that if andy hadn't stepped in with his offer to take over the helm I would have just let this place die without a second thought. The words ''selfish'' and ''untrustworthy'' have been banded about.
Now while I can understand people feeling this way, I'd like to say in my defence that it simply isn't true.
In fact, BEFORE the announcement was made, when it was uncertain what was going to happen, I stated to both Novum and Frog that, in the event of no-one stepping forwards, then I intended to stay in place as owner and continue to pay the server bill for as long as it took to find a suitable replacement for myself. Because I felt that I, more than anyone, was the one responsible for ensuring SZ's future.
Both Novum and Frog will confirm this to be the case.
I also confided in a member and friend here who's opinion I value greatly, because I felt the need to get a different perspective on all of this, a members perspective, and this person knows just how much thought and effort I put into attempting to come up with various ideas, and in covering every possible option in order to ensure that SZ continued on as it wishes to continue, and to ensure it didn't fall into the wrong hands.
Thankfully, none of that last became necessary, as andy stepped forwards almost immediately. And I honestly can't think of a more suitable person to hand over SZ to. On that at least, I think we are all agreed.
So again, well done to andy for stepping in.
