Hi guys, just some info here about using your Private Messages.

Your Private Messaging page/area can be accessed a number of ways -

1. The 'Private Messages' text link near the top right of the page in the grey user info box.
This will take your browser to the Inbox in the same browser window.

2. The small Private Message icon near another members username, in threads and profile views etc.
This will take your browser to the Inbox in the same browser window.

3. The 'PM's' black tab in the forum menu located between 'Chat' and 'Profile'
Please note - this link functions differently from the other two for PMs...it has been provided as a pop up link for messaging on the fly without losing your place on the forum. It will pop up as an extra window on top of your browser. You can then use your messages as per normal in that pop up window without your browser losing its place on the forum...for example while you are making a post or thread.


Turning Pop-up notification on

Navigate to your Private Messaging Inbox, and look in the far bottom LH corner, you will see a link 'Settings' Click on that and tick the box for pop up notification and save. You are done.


A Word on Privacy

The messaging system on this forum is provided by uddeiM brand forum Private Messaging system, and messages are completely encrypted and cannot be read by moderators or Admin, as is our policy here, as well as the policy of the uddeiM developers.

You can also select to add a password of your choice near the send button (you will see 'password' there and there is a box you can fill in next to it. Please note this password is optional, and it means that the recipient cannot open your Message unless they too know the password.

It can be the same or a different password everytime of your choice, but please note that the recipient cannot open a message sent with the password option unless they too know the password used when the message was sent. So dont use it unless you have an arrangement with the recipient.

This password protect is provided as an extra layer of security by uddeiM, and it ensures only the person a message is intended for can read it, if they also know the password. So even if someone managed to get hold of a users forum password and logged in for example, they still wouldnt be able to read the message unless they know your custom message password.


More to be added here later on PM's here as the need arises.

Also If anyone has any questions we havent thought of addressing, please just ask in this thread and we can add extra information for other users to this post.

because the developer is against accessing from the forum Administrator backend, we cant see them from there. Admins can only see their own PM's lol, just like everyone else.

and because of the encryption, we cant read them if we go straight into the server either...we know where they are located, but it just looks like scrambled letters, gibberish code, that would need decrypting.

those are the only 2 places we could possibly read them, and admins are shut out of both places.

and if you enter a p/w key in your message, its even more secure, only the person who knows the p/w can open it.

You can enter a p/w of your choice that only you know near the send button in the field.

There's a problem with the PM's system... as in I can't reply to any for some reason!?

The option to type isn't there... any ideas?

Don't work either... soon as I try to type the option isn't there.

Last person that had this problem was griswald and that was ages ago.

Might that happen if you've reached a limit of ones stored in your sent & received files?
