Oi I'm not sure that some posters won't mind a 3 day ban if they only use SZ less than once/twice per week anyway, perhaps the 'report abuse' tab could be used and then when evidence is collected a poll can be based on that evidence. is it possible to have a 'sockwatch' tab inserted?

In your proposal would the admin ban themselves for 3 days for making a wrong call about a possible sock? it seems to me that referring to another member as a sock without the backing of other members is unreasonable, unless their is really good evidence from post matching etc...
I think your proposal is pretty good oi, only that a genuine sock call needs to be seconded by a regular daily user, with both getting the ban if incorrect?
otherwise we could have anyone coming along calling 'sock' and creating polls for nothing as they will get a 3 day ban but they won't care if they don't login much?

Alright bt,, i may as well say my bit here and have done with it.
My account is effectively a sock. I flounced a long time ago and when i came to my senses a bit created the knob account so i could get back in quick.
Unlike yourself, who had previously been banned....i had a bit of fun for about one page of one thread and then put everyone out of their misery.
I actually called for this sock to be banned under sz policy. The folks here decided it was pointless and just let this account replace the old one.
In both cases, i think the established policy has worked. Largely. Though no doubt we could improve upon it. I do find the cake you are offering a tad rich it has to be said. Kind of sock messianic tbh.
I cottoned on to you taking some cheap shots at me when you first came here. You had the benefit of knowing you were frothy... I did not. Your choice. Not mine. I mostly let it ride because i could see that you were settling in as what i thought was, a new member. What was the point in me making a fuss over a few cheap shots?
Anyway, you did show yourself to be a positive member (for want of a better phrase) and have had many insightful and constructive things to offer.
But all the while being duplicitous. I have zero respect for that. It is not the action of a 'reformed character'. I am not buying the 'i gave the odd clue in a mega thread' defence. You maintained the duplicity for weeks....

You did the right thing after you were rightly banned. You knocked on the front door and that put it in the hands of the community. The community overwhelmingly voted to bring you back.
I have been and am, prepared to go along with the community view on this.

The process has worked.

But.

I counsel you to consider the words of folk like gp, feather and myself. Don't be fooled into thinking the support you have got is a get out of jail free card.
You have let yourself and us down and you know it.

But.
As far as i am concerned. No hard feelings. I hope you now go on to put all this where it belongs, in the past. I hope the sz remains a better place for your presence.
