I'm gonna get the ball rolling regarding moving the hosting for the site, well probably not moving it as such just transfering it to an account in my name from DG's. We are looking at paying $19.95 for US based hosting or $26.95 for UK based. We could go on a slightly cheaper package but we are almost at the webspace limit on that package and would only have to upgrade to the package I've quoted prices for in the near future.

One or more of you with a good internet (mine is crap tbf) can also volunteer to dowload backups of the entire site daily or weekly or whatever is easier, once its moved to a seperate server than TZ, to make sure the site is always in more hands also. It doesnt take long.

Once you have the backup file well the site can be put up anywhere, if there is ever a problem.

EDIT: Site backup file is around 150MB , so whoever can handle d/l that daily or weekly will always have a copy of the site in their hot little hands, i say this cause some of you worry sometimes

OK... so its come to that time.

The new hosting account is ready, just waiting on the host to move the site files to the new account.

So this is a heads up, it could happen any time from this point on. There may be some interruptions.

As we kept to the same hosting company for the move, hopefully it will go smoothly but websites being websites you can never guarantee.

If it goes smoothly is it an instantaneous thing like flipping a light switch?

Sometimes this change takes some time to propagate thru the internet... so for some people it may still point to the old location for a while... which will means the site wont work.

Though sometimes the new settings take effect very quickly or even instantaneously. Where you are located could make a difference also.
