btw there is a cron job running that takes backups automatically once a day.

its done with akeeba backup for joomla which is installed on this site.

in laymans terms, one backup file is generated everyday... this can simply be downloaded. this is the whole site. Were at a size of 128 MB right now for that file.

but you have to know which folder its in, and download it with your ftp client set in BINARY mode , i use FileZilla, free to download

anyway, if/when you guys sort out a routine or want to ask me anything just PM me. All you need to do is download that file.

there is another way to take backups using the cpanel Backup Wizard, but weve always used akeeba and it works. Could always do both. The Backup Wizard is done manually, just go to backup wizard and follow the directions.

In theory innohosting takes daily backups too, and from what i have seen they are true to their word unlike some hostings.. but of course should always have our own.

And best ask me if thinking about updating anything back there in joomla, some updates arent compatible with the (now older) template, as the template is getting on now and we never paid for lifetime access to updates. An attempt at updating certain things would make the site not work and would have to be restored to what it was before from the latest backup. (ive been there )
