He is quite naive about Western politics, to say the least, but he knows a great deal about his own country. I wouldn't recommend going to Russia for love nor money. There may be better options in South America, maybe somewhere like Venezuela, I don't know.

I have known about John Bolton for a long time. In fact, before I ever started posting on DIF, I was on a now defunct forum back in 2004 (as mikey mikey) called Moorewatch (of Sicko fame).

It was quite shocking just how much and how many people supported him.

Hmm, yeah, most people don't know their own history. The tide is turning, albeit rather slower than one would like!

There will be a time, it might not be in our lifetime, when people will look back at this period of history as being preposterous, bombastic and grotesque, as people view stuff like the Roman Empire now. Hopefully at that time there will still be a tenable planet left to occupy!

Dude, you really need to get out more often. Bolton was the US ambassador to the UN under George W. Bush and is an important foreign policy adviser to the Romney campaign. He is not in any way “more or less a private person” and it’s farcical of you to suggest otherwise. Are you physically incapable of admitting that the US can be wrong?
