A police helipad is nearby and that airspace is apparently reserved for police and air ambulances only.

Going by the wreckage in this shot it does look fairly certain that's a cop chopper eh?

Apparently two civilian crew and one police on the helicopter so yeah, that's likely the 3 dead.

Sounds like it was sudden engine failure.

I was thinking the other day how weird it is that there seems to be quite a few helicopter crashes but the police helicopters always seem to be ok.
They're always over residential areas so anything goes wrong & it will end in a right mess....

Police Scotland can confirm that a 16 year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody following an investigation into comments made online following the helicopter crash in Glasgow on Friday 29 November 2013.

On Sunday 1 December 2013, officers detained the 16 year-old. It is alleged he posted sectarian and racist comments on a social networking site.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

I doubt the west coast of Scotland will ever outgrow that sectarian shit.
