This is a new one...and i might know why...it could be to disguise the fact that out of the 69, 000 members they boast of there, only 14K or so were active, and a lot of "Inactives" appear in threads. And i wont even get into how many of them have actually made more than a handful of posts, or even one (theres a lot of zeros in the memberlist) or actively participate...its more like a core of 5k people from what i can see...anyway...

To my suprise when google searching one of my old posts...

I couldnt help but see that my forum rank wasnt "Inactive" anymore, but rather had reverted back to "Senior Member"

The rank is the little snippet of info (under our username over there.) pertaining to our status...eg Member, Inactive, Banned (like Novum :chuckle: )

So ofc the next thing i thought to do, was try log back on!

And i could. Whereas i couldnt when i was "Inactive" proper.

However all the categories say "Private" except for "Conspiracy/Truth Researchers" so one cant post or read.

So this may be an attempt to make tens of thousands of users who were previously inactive, appear not to be, to the casual observer when looking at threads.

In an attempt to cover up that there is a gaping hole in the sinking ship that is the David Icke Forum.

There just arent many people there at all, and no where near what they try and claim.

And hey, i figure if im to be banned for "forum wars" just cause i lent a hand to someone who has a website outside their matrix, i may as well actually behave as such, and this is the first time as such that i stoop to such lows :hahano:

So now I_am and sean can continue to boast about the 70K members on the David Icke Forum, and most wont realise how many inactives there are.

That is if im not the only one, which i suspect i am not, since it appears they have got a whole group/forum setting devoted to the cause of catering to "inactives" .

I think the forum has just under 5000 active, participating members, of which a couple of hundred post regularly..... of which about half are there for less than positive reasons.

I still have nothing against the DIF, I never got involved with the drama involving the mods, but didn't like the way some posters were rather arbitrarily banned, and I don't like how you can't really even question Icke. A little bit too dictatorial in that sense.

Interesting...I wonder if I or any of my former incarnations are effectively alive and kicking over there?

I shall check.

Like you Ronisron, I've nothing against DI either. I actually love the site in comparison to many others.

However, and I'll say it right now.....I responded to their 'wanted ' mods post.

But not for the job, which I made clear, but to criticise what I feel is wrong with modding the forum.

I said that there wasn't enough strictness with swearing and slagging off fellow forum members.

And also mentioned that they should be banning anyone and everybody who is racist and starts such threads. I.e. ban the lot of them and start afresh.

Ironically enough... I responded to the 'mod wanted' position too but not for the same reasons as yours :spliff:

 Good idea though... that's one way of saying your piece. Shame they won't care though.

I suspect you are right psketti. I don't much care if I get a reply as I've said on the main forum and elsewhere what I feel about the lack of moderation. And Indeed have intervened myself at times.

I just think it's such a shame that a great site like DI is going down the tubes. And in my personal opinion it's due to forum moderation and favouritism. A site is only as good as its rules and scruples and those that adhere to them.

I guess that's more back up for psket's theory that my face just didn't fit over there then.

Me doing exactly that took me on the route to being fitted up and banned.

Fair play to you for running the gauntlet with them :)

That probably sounds about right.

And I dont hold any grudges either TBH, i enjoyed my time there, and all of us have put up a lot of info there...in fact i only saw it because i googled my username and a few keywords to find something i had posted.

But i cant say i like seeing my inactive account appear not to be, but then i guess its their property, they can do with it what they will...they have a business to run.

If they did that to my account then i doubt its the only account made to appear active when viewing posts.

And thanks to the folk at DIF for banning my account today after reading this thread, that i posted in the public parts on purpose.

Just what i wanted, i hated appearing to be an active member when i didnt want to be.

They should have already banned the both of me when i had both going at the same time :chuckle:

Banned while inactive..thats gotta be some kind of first :larf:

Two times I had my account 'disabled' over there. It meant that I looked like I was 'active' but when I logged in I couldn't post, PM etc my account was as good as 'inactive''cos I couldn't do bugger all with it apart from click on the 'contact us' button. So I did contact them several times :D to ask why my account was disabled, never got an explanation but both times I was made active again (but only because I complained)
It still puzzles me as to why they did that as i've never been warned or given points at any time, but both times this happened to my account I was having 'personal difficulties' with another member over there (via PM as well as in other ways) and I know now they must have been reading my PM's and didn't like me arguing with this individual as back then they probably thought he was a nice guy like I used to.
