Anyone remember when they 'updated' the forum software so you could no longer embed Youtube vids? I seem to remember it was well in advance of the announcement of TPV.

The interview with the 'sales' guys on the Indiegogo appeal page made one reason clear - they desperately want Youtube subscribers (and twitter followers), which they say are far below the viewing figures (go figure ). Any bets that such subscribers are being monitored, with info possibly sent (or sold) to a 'third party'.

It also diverts folk who want to watch away from the forum, which would otherwise be the place for people to watch together, discuss, debate and (heavens!) criticise. Such folk might never then stumble across other threads which actually have (or had) much more valuable content than much of TPV.

No wonder they didn't want to set up a TPV forum, or even a sub-section on the DIF!!!

And the only input there from people at TPV (most of whom I'm sure are Sean Adl) is when they want to have a rant or spin something.

It makes some of the MSM comment sections look positively Sanctum Zone-esque as far as free speech is concerned

<edit> I think it was around a year ago the embedding was removed - way, way in advance of even the campaign, that's why I'm asking if anyone recalls when it was.

I no longer want to support your greed and hope that not a single soul helps you to reach the unfathomable and ludicrous sum of £700,000 for an internet video streaming service that is fundamentally a waste of space and for the most part just trying to monetise what would be otherwise referred to as free information.

I'm so thoroughly disappointed in myself for offering my time as well as quite a sizeable chunk of my income to support what i was lead to believe would be a station for the people.

They have some guy on now [ dave mcann] who has wrote a 'book' on masons...another one...as if that has not been raked over for decades, he is not very articulate at all so it made me wonder what the book would be like, and when questioned about the book i can only describe his answers as vague and certainly when asked how long it took him to write...err well with research about 6 years...!!!

Two comments on amazon reinforced what i was thinking.....it sounds like a east end re-hash of stephen knights 1983 book :
the brotherhood....that windows show is painful to watch, do they truly think tpv will pull more viewers from the mainstream....
