I don't know if I've said this before, but I think I might have done...
If you're not on TV...it's a waste of fucking time!
Yes absolutely - but Info-Wars has overcome that limitation over time and a carefully grown business model
Not enough people are going to pay attention to an Internet stream. It is not going to change jack shit, and you will have a constant economic struggle.
Agreed but lets think out of the box and look at revenue steams not yet used so far
You might struggle to make it onto TV, you might struggle economically once you do, you may still have little impact. But at least you've got a chance of making an impact.
Yep TV should be the ultimate goal - down to a goog business plan again and it can be done IMO
It is easily possible for all the people involved in the alternative media to create a functioning TV channel,
Yes, agree
and if they fail to do so then it must be either total incompetence or lack of will.
TPV a prime example of that (unless it was designed to fail)
Pissing about with Internet streams is an absolute waste of time.
Yes but it is the only start-up option without mega-bucks investment - I believe it can be done but needs a massive communication effort (AM viewers could help with that process)
You can see the viewing figures for all UK TV channels here:
www.barb.co.uk/viewing/weekly-total-viewing-summary
Note that RT gets less than 500,000 viewers per week according to these figures. Let’s leave aside all of the obvious arguments against RT, I think the Abby Martin programme and Keiser Report are generally very good, and you’re going to have a tough job to doing something better. How many people watch them in the UK? Maybe 50,000 at a push...that sounds like a massive overestimation, but you certainly couldn’t claim that it was more than that. And that’s something that's on every television set in the country. People are not going to watch an Internet stream, and if you try to go down that route, you’re just one channel in a soup of millions. It’s hard enough to get people to watch you when you’re one channel out of hundreds,
I just don’t see how it can possibly, conceivably work.
