Well i voted for the truth researchers section....though with icke et al in there.... it's a oxymoron...

I know some choose not to want to have them or see them, well there are plenty of other threads not about him to be enjoyed, i do feel there should be somewhere to post about him, as there is always something occurring, and i would not seek to deny others the same right everyone else has had up to now to post about team icke,

i know others are fed up, but how much did you post initially about it all when you first joined ?

And i just have to say... :) ... it makes no sense to me, to ignore threads about him by posting & supporting that you ignore them in a thread about icke..... :umm: .............. :conf: ................ :D

Indeed. I think the purpose of this particular thread though, is to decide how to proceed further, so in that regard...we're allowed. ;)

And nobody is suggesting that people are not allowed to vent. It would just be easier for those who want to avoid and for those who want to find the stuff, if it were all in one place.

We're all about ease here, dontcha know.

The number of Icke threads that are anti-Icke kinda re-enforces fevva's theory about some kind of convoluted Stockholm Syndrome.

His aversion to Icke threads also backs up his theory.

It seems logical to stick it into one sub category like researchers. I don't think it warrants its own category, although obviously this has been a good outlet for DIreFugees, I'm sure most inquisitive folk there would either know about this place or end up here anyway. It's a bit of a paradox for me because I'm piss bored of hearing about it now, but I'm always drawn in to have a look so it's my own problem! I think the problem is though that when topics like this become so popular and continuous other topics tend to get knocked off or overlooked.
& I think going on about Icke & stuff all the time isn't productive in the slightest (apart from raising awareness). It should be an Icke cliche to ask us what we were doing while he was wasting everybody else's money.
Obviously people should be able to talk about it as much as they want though & obviously the idea of binning it was never realistic. :D

Topics 'Like this' would only be relevant to us "Recent" tab types. I suspect there is a dichotomy of browsing rather than ideology amongst the 'front pagers'.

Well i was banned in 2011 so i must be well into patty hearst territory...... :P

Seriously though, i think it speaks more for those who have since my time on here, chosen to focus their energies on others who choose to post in the icke threads....i mean what's the big deal if some of them choose to do so on this forum, why does that bother others so much it keeps cropping up....there was something i noted the other day and frankly who it was seemed almost sanctimonious about the icke threads....i just thought to myself [until now :D ] get over it, its a forum and the icke threads were there before most of the posters in it arrived

I just think the few people doing this, need to just step off with all the high n mighty stuff, as i dont think it is fair to the new arrivals, and frankly i wont hesitate to stand my ground if someone starts all that with me for dropping in there.....if its a community then maybe its time some [NOT ALL :coffee: ] just stood back a little and think about how they are, or it runs the risk of becoming an elitist non community forum that leans more to time served than true member value...that would be a sad way to end up just because others exercise their choice to post somewhere you dont want to as your "over it".

P.s Stockholm syndrome sadly wont be far from the truth, as it is said that being under a narcissists influence creates similar symptoms....so maybe time, compassion and gentler ways of letting newbies know there is a whole world of threads and subjects within SZ would not go amiss, instead of some of the way its been handled by a small few, who are having a impact i feel.....sorry to say so but i call it as i see it.........heres to more co-operation and freedom of choice

I disagree - I think people just have a tendency to start new threads when their OP would be better slotted into one of the existing threads. I stop myself commenting on it regularly, coz I don't want to be on people's backs - bit it's there, niggling and preying on my mind. :D

I remember being at DIF when Michael Jackson died. I counted about 44 threads on the subject - and several about what would happen to Bubbles. Well, I made the last bit up, but you get the picture.

I got slated from every direction for merging some of them. Folk were complaining that if it's a long thread, some of the 'facts' get buried.

My response is that that's illogical. Aside from urging people not to produce tons of repetition anyway, why will facts get lost in a long thread, if you were going to read the same posts & the same number of posts if they're spread across numerous threads? :conf:

You either read them or you don't. :dunno:

Confining the stuff to 1 or 2 threads just stops the forum from being cluttered.

I don't think it fair to state that a 'few people' are doing whatever it is you think they are doing GP. The whole point of this thread, was to establish a consensus on the issue...which is what we're (ALL of us, not just some of us - again not really sure where that idea is coming from) doing right now.

I also don't think it fair that thread after thread be started about the same topic, when the reality is that if this happens with any other topic (though it rarely does) these get moved by facilitators to a more appropriate section or merged. It's really all about housekeeping, imo. Noboby is suggesting that this issue can not be discussed, over and over, til your blue in the face. It has not even been suggested that all Icke topics be merged into one super-thread, more so that this topic, given so many want to post about it, have its own section. It would be useful for ALL of us if it was all just kept in the one place. I really don't understand the resistance to the idea tbh - perhaps you could shed some light?

I think its important to make that distinction.

Regardless of 'length of time served', I care about this community and the way in which it evolves. Whilst I obviously welcome all 'new' arrivals, I'm not about to shut up and not have an opinion for fear of scaring people off or upsetting delicate sensibilities. If you (not you personally) feel strongly against something that is posted - POST YOUR OPINION! That's exactly what these threads are for and this is how 'we' (I'm including ALL members in that...I also feel it important NOT to make that particular distinction) do things here...by consensus, I might add.

On other forums I have been a member of, we have always had the "Oh not this again" response to hackneyed subjects from old hands on the forum - and I have myself joined in the chorus on occasion.

However, this is rather unfair to new and newish members for whom the subject is a fresh one.

Agreed. For my part, I try and steer clear of them altogether as the issue does not interest me. However, I was asked for my opinion in this particular thread, as was everyone.

Perhaps we could all agree to not post that kind of stuff in the future? I view it as much as respect for other members as not starting post after post about the same topic in the general section.

I don't know who I trust less. Icke, or those that want to shut down the Icke dialogue altogether.
But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma,
a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

Like the response to Icke Inc's actions, things are getting a wee bit out of proportion methinks.

All that was asked for was a bit of restraint by keeping the DIF/Icke/TPV/Sean/Daisy/PMGate stuff to a couple of threads rather than them being scattered all over the shop.

I do find an interesting phenomenon with some folks who just can't seem to get over, what are afterall, fairly minor transgressions.
That indicates to me that their expectations were naively too high in the first place.
Icke is a business, hypocrisy and profit go hand in hand, accept that and set your expectations accordingly. :)

The "problem" is that the forum ends up pretty much being a one topic discussion platform and that becomes a disincentive to people bothering to contribute across a varied range of topics and issues.

Remember when you signed up to DIF?
I bet you did so to discuss topics, not Icke or his team.
Let's get back to the interesting stuff, (That does not mean to the exclusion of Icke Inc).
There's a lot of nice, bright, interesting people here, new and old members, and it's a shame to see those minds diverted onto something that isn't very earth-shattering and will probably collapse under it's own incompetence and self-delusion anyway.

Your PM's will never be unread again
Your TPV donations will not be returned
Your ban for speaking against or querying the godhead and/or his priests did you a favour because it showed their hand.
The nepotism pretty much ensures it's rapid demise.

You'll be fine. xxx

So are we going to drop the SZ tagline "The Alternative David Icke Forum"?

Because this does raise an expectation.
