Question for you .35 - Is forum chat inherently insecure? compared to the rest of a forum.
For example, would it be easier to hack someone when they are using forum chat?
Reason being, on an old forum where there was a weekly chat I always got multiple firewall warnings and sometimes my browser would crash - same used to happen on skype.....usually after being on for 10 to 15 minutes.
The reason I ask is I that it happened again on the chat quiz at SZ on Saturday - it kicked me out a couple of times for no reason. Just curious
I'm glad its not just me having problems ,I have to log off about every 20 minutes otherwise my security goes nuts and/or the site starts locking up and I have to run scans. :hide: :dunno:

considering the number of 'attacks' all icke enterprises seem to suffer the op does not suprise me at all - too concerned with stifling free speech and hunting down socks then sorting out the tech.

I can't believe the issues they're having resolving this login issue and it appears no one is even looking into the problem. David Icke has traded his very successful cash cow of a forum for a failing media outlet. He needs to get a webmaster and some admins that know what they're doing in place over at DIF. It seems the DIF forum has been tossed aside the second TPV started.
Warning!!! User may offer a differing opinion. If in doubt, accuse of shilling.

Yup,many eggs do seem to have been hastily flung into one very insecure basket, all at once.DIF at times now ,looks like the Marie Celeste. :coffee:

Yep - sounds just like my experiences Jiggly. My OS is Linux so has application security as well as a hardware firewall and software firewall. My firewall is well stealthed but obviously when I go out to skype or a chat application the net gets to see that connection and thats when the probes attack :O

It'lle be fixed once Sean gets back from his honymoon. I think this was done deliberately so that if anything kicked off (such as comments on him being in MSM over his gay wedding) while he was away it could be easily contained. They said they had it in hand right from the start, so I think this was deliberatly planned. Plus I don't think they would care much about DIF going the way of the dodo. Its an embarresment to TPV and an obstacle to thier getting advertisers and sponsors. Wouldn't surprise me if they don't let DIF die a death and just keep the headlines pages up.

What surprises me most is the complete lack of fuss from the remaining posters on the forum. No one is asking why this isnt getting fixed.

I think the fact that they are not asking whats going on demonstrates one of either two things.
1. They are so downbeaten, cowed and fearful of mods there now they daren't say a word.
2.They are mostly sock accounts, someones earlier joke here on that subject may well be closer to the truth than we will ever know. :coffee:

I totally agree that its one of those two reason.
Another thing - I am now totally convinced that the Guest figures on DIF are totally skewed. You would think that they would have grown steadily higher while this log in debacle was going on. i.e. members who can't log in checking to see what they've missed and wether its fixed yet. But no - the guest figures seem to be holding fairly steady, so I think that its showing people who are just reading the headlines page, not ppl reading the forum.

Nothing for you. The logs for the parachat ran from Nov 7th - Nov 11th.

Just to make it clear, these were publicly available records. I have done nothing illegal/underhand to be able to view them.

I obviously wasn't in chat on those dates. I wasn't worried in the least you might have my IP, I only asked because at the time I asked I thought this might have been an april fool :D

Can't say I agree about ex_sheep being fair. He was responsible for my suspension, for which I did nothing to deserve. I also had a run in with him about 2 weeks before as I was served points for absolutely nothing and approached other mods over it as it was unbelievable and apparently ex_sheep has the final say. He's the big cheese so if he wants to be a twat, he will be.

He's a coward if you ask me.

That's because - quote "TPV is nothing to do with this forum" :umm:

That's what a mod told me anyway, I would copy and paste it to show you but my account was made inactive when I logged on here with the same user name.
I did what I thought was best at the time and when I knew better I did better. :)

That's a shame to hear, I'd always found them to be more than courteous with me and I had a fair few run ins with him!

I think I got his knickers in a twist by saying that as a forum advisor he should not be telling me to get bent and needs to question his professionalism. I made him look about 2mm tall and he flipped his lid. Then he binned me at the first chance he could because I said Gareth Icke was an utter tosser for his "mongs" statement and they're not the sort of people fit to represent me.
