Is that good, because the people on the street have done it to attract attention, or bad, because the police don't want their activities broadcast?

Staff have taken over all broadcasting in protest against the station being closed as an 'austerity measure', obviously the state can't allow them to broadcast anti-state stuff on a state channel so the pigs are moving in to shut it down.

Hell of a crowd there and from what I gather the cops are 'positioning' themselves.

We're living in unprecedented times, really. For this sort of thing to be going on all over Europe, and there's going to be a lot more to come, it's never happened before at all. Obviously there have been massive revolts within individual countries, but to see the same scenes over and over again on a continent-wide basis, I don't think this has ever happened before in known human history.

It's a bit odd. There's this building, state owned, housed state television, yesterday the state axed it's reason for existence. There's a constant flow of people in and out of the grounds, even in today's flash storms and persistent rain. The gist of the crowd is "well if the state don't want state TV the public certainly don't want only private TV". Some single interest groups were visible but no political parties.

It's a very strange throw of the dice. Loosely it is like the BBC announcing today is the last day. What it seems to have done is throw some sacrificial lambs on the EU slaughter slab but in an almost brazen "see what you asked for?" kind of way. Greek emigrants rely on this service to keep up to date with Greece, your non-politicised Greek just lost 3 channels of downtime. There are so many contradictions in this whole scenario nobody here can quite get what hand is being played.
