Just gone out for a fag and looking east i see blue clouds on a pink skyline. Is this normal?

Without seeing it I can't say for sure but if it's sunset and there are rain clouds about then yes probably.

Looking at the sky in Manchester, there are some wispy cirrus clouds with a blue/grey hue at the mo...the sky is also a multitude of blue/grey colours morphing.

I would think you need to upload it to somewhere like imageshack/photobucket then when you make your post, in the tool bar bit under subject there's a button for image links, just hit that and paste in the link to your photo in the prompt. I've not actually done it myself yet but that should be the way from what I can tell.

It's kind of hard to ignore some of it now, what will all the mega!fails being on the news at the moment. You'd have to be really obtuse not to be questioning wtf is going on after hearing some of these.

pink sky sounds like classic comtrail activity
this is easily confirmed by the sighting of the ocasional bird in the area .

That sky sounds like a typical 'summer sky' here in the states. It usually indicates low humidity further west. There's an old nautical rhyme that addresses this. The further west it was, the better the sailing conditions. Early morning easterly storms were certainly less delightful.

"Red sky at night, Sailor's delight. Red sky in morning, sailors take warning."

Being that you folks in the UK are used to having higher levels of humidity, I can understand why it looks strange. My guess would be that the UK government might be cloud seeding to produce ideal weather, like China did for the Beijing games. Of course I can't be sure of that unless someone from the government says so directly.
