WB peril
Ok...
Being the skeptical bitch as ever, there are far too many bits of that article that make me uncomfortable, to view this as something to get excited about, the first being the one reptireds already pointed out;
"opening the way for the state to regulate the production, distribution, sale and consumption of the planet's favourite illegal drug."
I'm all for decriminalising but not on the basis mentioned above. In my opinion, it should be the option to grow your own and if you cant do that, then you should be able to buy it from where you want, ie, your mate that you've been buying it from for the last 20 fucking years.
Buying weed from the government after they've 'regulated' it isn't my idea of a way forward.
Then there's this little gem....
"We are asking the world to help us with this experience, which will allow the adoption of a social and political experiment to face a serious problem – drug trafficking," he said earlier this month. "The effects of drug trafficking are worse than those of the drugs themselves."
What? 'Serious problem and drug trafficking are the result of people smoking weed? So now they're doing this so they can attempt to tackle the 'serious problem' and all the 'drug trafficking' ... that stems from weed? Really?
OMG! of course they are and how silly of me to think it could possibly be because they really dont like us smoking it and by controlling it, they get to fuck about with it... not to mention the millions they'll ultimiately make of
us it that they're currently losing out on.
And of course, lets not forget all the serious problems and trafficking that's going to reduce dramatically if they take over the weed distribution.
"Marijuana is highly addictive. It's 15 times more carcinogenic than tobacco. It produces psychological disorders like depression, anxiety and – for big consumers – schizophrenia," she said. "As a healthcare agent, I think the social harm will be huge."

.. knobs has covered this already!
And then there's this...
State regulation will reduce problematic consumption.
Now just what the fuck does that mean exactly! That sentence alone was enough for me.
I'm obviously all for getting weed dropped from the illegal list but at what cost? I will
only welcome news like this if it has zero state involvment with no exceptions.
Make it legal and let US decide who grows it. Nothing less.
