How do you see the economy and house prices within the next 5 to 10 yrs?

My prediction DLA benefits will end .Food and energy vouchers will be given to the unemployed.

Most pubs and clubs will be shut down. The town centre will be gone due to people buying on line.

Anything else to add ?

Sounds about right.
You can add to that 100% digital money, a re-born EU with central governance and an economy that picks up after 100% digital (not necessarily a good thing btw lol)

the things described so far are reasonable assumptions but i think long before they happen there will be public unrest and i would hazzzard a guess that as austerity measures
start to bite it could be within the next 3 years

those that follow the lib dem labour "lets be competitive and prpfit driven "
will hold this off as long as possible
but the inevitable revolt from all sides will kick in long before or around the early days of tje introduction of the scenareos described above ,

every political party is saying the same thing
the classic old production mantra
but technology has limmited the amount of stuff we need so cosmetic materials and goods
will be the foundation of economic recovery
lol
is anyone seriously thinking that restraunts and hairdressers will carry us forward ,

3 years. by then austerity worldwide will prove
too much and give rise to socialism theres allready whispers of this happening and even rumours that elites are siding with right wingers in an attempt to stop it .

Town centres are already dead for the most part, imo. Seems only a matter of time now. I agree with everything else said so far...unfortunately. :(

Which jobs will be safer? Im a security guard so wonder if we will get pace cards like traffic wardens did a few years ago. For those that do not know yet traffic wardens are able to search your homes ,stop and search ,arrest read your rights etc in times of emergencies.

Just been doing some work for a cloud consulting firm that specialises in automation services. Is that the sort of thing that will put IT people out of a job Andy?

The job market for many professions is global and business can be conducted over the internet. Unfortunately this means having to compete with people in the 3rd world who can do the same work for a few $$$

Good quality will always sell though imo.

Shame you don't run tings then. :(

I reckon it'd be like one long 'Carry On' film. Yay!!!

Every single aspect of technological progress puts everyone out of jobs :)
We have managed to cope so far with a myriad of 'management' positions but they are often temporary (project management) or becoming obsolete too through better software planning etc.

So yes IT people are definitely being put out of work by the cloud.

IMHO I see this long term as being impossible to sustain the current socio-economic paradigm unless something radical happens such as humans moving to colonize space and other planets etc.
The dumbing down of people is quite deliberate ;)

House prices are being kept artificially high as far as i can work out, what a horrible little virus that was that was created in London then spread across the country  .I mean the banks completely failed and were bailed out by the tax payer and the system is still playing this stupid property bullshit game  Will they drop?In a real system yeah but this is a fantasy system made by nincompoops :chuckle:
Social security will probably disappear for poor people who need it but be kept for middle class/wealthy under another name.
Christian charities will supply food to the needy creating a self fulling prophecy from the billions that the churches have made from the banking system, arms investments and historical theft.
Like a man with his foot on your head while you are drowning lifts his foot so you can breath a little yet he will shout "look how kind i am helping this poor person" ;)
