"Global tax reform would seem an unlikely issue to excite and unite the world. Yet as public anger grows over the unconscionable scale of tax avoidance by multinational companies, such reform has become a low-hanging political fruit. Who could challenge the need?

When G20 leaders discuss global tax reform at their summit in St Petersburg this week, they will be building on excellent work, including an Action Plan by the OECD."
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2013/sep/05/g20-africa-global-tax-reform

"World leaders attending the annual G20 summit on Thursday are expected to promise to develop powerful tools to help the authorities combat international tax evaders, with a deadline of next June.

The move at the meeting, being held in St Petersburg, Russia, will be claimed as a victory for an aggressive new strategy in the battle against evasion. The plan is to unilaterally demand that financial institutions automatically surrender information on customer assets to overseas tax authorities.

This bold approach has been pioneered by the US and has attracted accusations from tax havens of human rights abuses and economic imperialism. But the G20 nations will all sign up to the measures."

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/04/g20-states-tax-evaders-swap-data

If you want to control every aspect of life on Earth you must have centralised control of all the resources, most importantly Human Resources.

This should be a good indicator of Putins real role in the Great Game.

This is not going to stop people from avoiding tax by not being resident for tax purposes.
It is clauses such as this that prevent the bulk of tax take from happening not creating any more govt offices that do fuck all.
What good is knowing someone has a trillion in the bank if they're not obliged by law to pay anything?

Everyone is obliged by law to pay taxes due on income in state of residence, simple as.

If you're not resident in a state that levies taxes then you cannot be taxed, its pretty obvious really. This is why theres over 36 trillion dollars in the british virgin islands.

Precisely.

That is why they will keep talking about the Syria issue and not get round to closing loopholes and tax havens used by er..well..them, their mates and most importantly their masters.

The global super-rich are stashing trillions of dollars offshore with the help of some of the world's biggest banks, putting billions of dollars out of the taxman’s reach and masking wealth inequality's true heights.
Wealthy people were hiding between $21 and $32 trillion in offshore jurisdictions around the world as of 2012, according to a 2012 study from the Tax Justice Network, an organization which aims to promote tax transparency. The study, highlighted by a recent Bloomberg News report, found that more than $12 trillion of that money was managed by 50 international banks, many of which received bailouts during the financial crisis, according to James Henry, the study’s author.

“There’s a lot more missing wealth in the world than we had known about from previous estimates,” Henry told The Huffington Post. “The real scandal is not all these individual scandals but the fact that world’s policy makers who know about this stuff, have basically done nothing.”

When doleys and immigrants won't suffice, bomb some brown people and wave the flag, works a treat.
Also makes profiting out of oil even better. Win win all round basically.

The purpose of taxation is to feed off the Host population, the individuals who own the state are never going to allow themselves to be taxed.

Legislation is not Law. The State cannot change Law, they cannot Legislate for a change Logic anymore than for the Law of Gravity.
Enforcement of Criminal Legislation does not equal Law.
Either theft is right, or it's wrong. It cannot be different for different individuals or groups (of individuals), or at different times in different geographical areas.

It's disheartening how often this conversation gets directed toward taxing others more, rather than the principle at the core of the issue.

Well I am not quite with letting the rich folks avoid paying taxes while I am still paying mine. Simple really.

Not only do we have socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor, but also the libertarian dream of untaxed income and savings for the rich and taxation for the poor from both ends (income and VAT).

So fuck'em.

I'll wave the "no tax no more" flag just as soon as folks develop an inequity aversion.

Its about distributism at the end of the day. A decent society has to have a reasonable spread of wealth for its own good and progress.
Taxation is 'supposed' to be about that, however over time it has morphed into something quite different.
You are right to say it is theft, however for there to be a theft there has to be a tangible 'something' taken ;)

Our money in todays central fractional reserve system is not 'tangible' because it has no value other than what people perceive it to have, so it is a theft of perception. :D
More to the point, this money actually belongs to the people who make it, once you really get to grips with that concept then you can see the how and the why behind it all. It brings a whole new meaning to 'indian giver' :D

We actually cumulatively have the power to take back our real wealth anytime we want to, thats an evolutionary concept though not revolutionary and I've discussed it at length before ofc.

The purpose of Taxation was never to spread wealth around "equally" even if it was and even if "society has to have a reasonable spread of wealth for its own good", stealing is not an acceptable way about going about it.

Is rape ok because some people are getting less consensual lovemaking others?

Central Banking Fiat has a Relative Value, you can actually go and exchange it for products of Real Value, the argument that stealing State Monopolised Fiat is not really stealing is not an argument at all.

Nah, not relative value, fuck all value.
The person you are giving it to in exchange for real goods of real value just believes that the paper has value and trusts that everyone else has that same belief, so it is nothing more than an artificially created belief system.
Whats worse is that a select elite few have the 'right' to print as much of it as they like with no comeback whatsoever in exchange for even more bits of paper back than they printed initially.

If this isn't fucked up, I dunno what is :)

More to the point is why would a nation states own government need to look to these private unaccountable elites to 'loan' them more bits of paper at interest?? Are they fucking stupid or what? :D

He's quite right, its the not so poor paying for the very poor, the rich pay fuck all as we all know now.
In todays FR banking system if you had no welfare system and true laissez faire then these people would simply starve to death and die, simple as. They would be surplus to requirements with a billion chinese to use instead.

I don't give a flying fuck if it's printed by "Elites" , "nation states" or the easter bunny, that's completely irrelevant.
