So fuck'em.

Libertarian dream of taxing the poor while the rich pay no tax.
Am I reading that correctly?

No you are not. The Libertarian dream which is an untaxed income is only granted to the rich. Just as they are the ones to get the state hand outs and guarantees to fail.(i.e. Socialism)

Unless you are talking about Koch style libertarian. In that case it is exactly how you wrote it.

But then that's not "The Libertarian dream" is it?
It's The Statist Dream and the relative wealth in the system is simply a function of how much influence an individual has over the state.
I.e. you don't get favours because you are rich, you get rich because you control the resources through state violence.

Of course you get favours, if you are rich. It's called buying favour ffs.

As for what is Libertarian, well that depends on the person using the term.

Personally, if I even get a whiff of Ayn Rand or Koch or Cato Institute, I think "wingnut"

You're forced into using it by billions of people who don't know any better, simple as.

I mean...if you were infinitely rich and powerful because you ran a con game that had the whole population enslaved you'd hardly tell them the truth would you ?

Anarcho capitalism has some obvious flaws.

1) Blank slate.
It can only work if every single person involved starts with nothing and if the system is ENTIRELY unregulated, you can trade whatever the hell you like including drugs and nuclear weapons, no holds barred. This way it would be impossible to ever have a monopoly.

We do not have that system though, it is heavily regulated and heavily tilted already in favour of an elite few. Not only that but they hold all the cards because they print the money and make the rules.

2) Dead meat.
With no laws of decency to follow, anyone ruthless enough can conquer all, and we're back to square one again.

So what is needed is a system which rather than forces decent behaviour it encourages and promotes it, it makes it profitable to do so while at the same time allowing for the maximum amount of people to make maximum reward from participation (disributism).

There is only 1 system I have seen that does all this in the most decent way possible and that is anarcho-syndicalism or libertarian-socialism as some call it.
Everyone has a direct equal share in not only their work but in society and politics. Direct democracy at work and in society, equal pay and conditions and control.
It is however notoriously difficult to start up and maintain, afaik Mondragon is the only long lasting model.
The rochdale cotton mills tried to do it in the UK and failed miserably by selling controlling shares externally instead of to the workers.

Authoritarian socialism is about trying to force employers to give workers more pay while at the same time forcing participation in labour cartels which charge the workers to act on their behalf (again authoritarian representative democracy but within the workplace rather than politics as a whole)

Libertarianism at its core is not about forcing people to do anything whereas anarcho-capitalism is about precisely that, violence is a natural result of the setup, so really its not libertarianism IMHO.

Stefan Molyneux who was himself up until recently a hardcore AC has himself admitted that the blank slate scenario is impossible due to the already tilted game we have, so discussion of the situation of monopolies is merely academic, we can never go back to that situation now and we cannot abandon welfare systems that are in place which support families in true need of help because the businesses have simply outsourced labour elsewhere and it will do nothing more than get worse.

The 1% who own 40% are hardly decent hard working people who deserve it, they are criminal scum of the worst kind. They have carried out theft by proxy.
There are decent hard working men who earn 30k a year and just barely feed a family and have no savings and never own a home. These are the men who are being stolen from, not the elites.

This is all because our governments have abandoned their responsibility of issuing money, if a government issues money at 0% interest then all of a sudden debt is not an issue, instead the concern is inflation and THIS is why you would then have taxation...to reduce inflation lol.
Instead what we have today is inflation from reckless debt production AND taxation to pay interest on it!!

Distributism is the role and responsibility of government, of course thats not happening and no-one would argue that point, however there is nothing specifically wrong with it if it is handled for the right reasons with the right responsibility, to do that though, all citizens must be a direct part of that responsibility and all business must be a direct part of that responsibility, again only anarcho-syndicalism does specifically just that.

It is not a cure all , its not utopia and its not without problems, it is merely better and proven to work as evidenced by mondragon.

What is FR?

Fractional reserve banking.

Banks loan out many multiples of what they have on deposit (in other words money they do not have) this is expanding the money supply and causing inflation, while at the same time charging interest for this oh so difficult and laborious task (sarcasm intended lol).

Interesting you use the term fascist for them.

They are private syndicalists or synarchists. (the exact opposite of anarcho-syndicalists) so they are about keeping wealth and control within a small elite group.

National syndicalism is the authoritarian state opposite of anarcho-syndicalism and is often referred to as fascism.

Yes' I know used the term. And despite what you think (and I think Koch is a cunt too) David Koch was the Libertarian Party's vice-presidential candidate in the 1980 presidential election, sharing the party ticket with presidential candidate Ed Clark.

So pretty much a Libertarian by many folks standards.

True libertarianism is about not forcing people to do anything..AT ALL.

You cannot have such a scenario with 1% of the population owning 40% of the planet, representative democracy, resource wars and everything motivated by profit.

I could envision times in the past where bog standard economics worked with smaller populations and little in the way of long distance communications and trade but not now. It basically started to all go haywire in the 80's when computers arrived, you could say before then even with the industrial revolution but the arrival of computing took it to a new level completely.
Now market trades are in the billions per second, the men on the trading floor are just there for show.

No, not if you were a con artist, these people are not just con artists though, they back up their scams with physical violence.
Anarcho capitalism has some obvious flaws.

Well, in order to asses it’s flaws you might suggest what you think it’s aims are.
1) Blank slate.
It can only work if every single person involved starts with nothing and if the system is ENTIRELY unregulated, you can trade whatever the hell you like including drugs and nuclear weapons, no holds barred. This way it would be impossible to ever have a monopoly.

There’s three points here.
First , it must be completely unregulated, by definition.
Second , you are assuming that the aim is to avoid monopoly, not so.
Monopoly in itself in not a bad thing, if someone creates a solution to a problem which is much better in every way to all other options and everyone chooses this as it is rational that’s a monopoly, I don’t see a problem with that, it’s so theoretical it’s probably not worth much discussion unless there is a real world example and you can find a specific problem with it.
Monopolies today are created by the State and it’s Croporations and use the violence to force people into them, whether it’s direct violence or redirecting wealth from previously stolen peoperty.
Third point is that everyone needs to start with nothing, I’m not sure why you think this, or how you would get there, the second point is important, how would you get there without Regulation/Theft/Violence because if you need to resort to that it’s not Voluntary.
2) Dead meat.
With no laws of decency to follow, anyone ruthless enough can conquer all, and we're back to square one again.

Sorry to post memes in response to your post but I really think they communicate a good response.

“Forcing decent behaviour”.
Anarcho-syndicalism is fine provided your not forcing it on other people, when you expend it and force it on others it’s Communism.
Democracy is mob violence, you are forcing behavior with direct democracy, people seem to think DD is ok because they thing they might have more of a say in controlling other peoples lives, it’s the exact same pathology that the people who run the state now are infected with.
Libertarianism at its core is not about forcing people to do anything whereas anarcho-capitalism is about precisely that, violence is a natural result of the setup, so really its not libertarianism IMHO.

Libertarianism is a statist ideology, it is all about force, they scale it down from the more extreme democrat and socialists but the principle is identical and the historical lessons are there for everyone to see even if they were inclined to accept a little bit of violence for the common good. The figures I think are even more extreme than that. These people re not hard working, they are not productive, they do not generate wealth, they are a cancer on Society and they have gotten control of all those resources through state violence. I wouldn’t choose to engage with them, given the choice, would you?
This is all because our governments have abandoned their responsibility of issuing money, if a government issues money at 0% interest then all of a sudden debt is not an issue, instead the concern is inflation and THIS is why you would then have taxation...to reduce inflation lol.

I think the term is as jaded from misuse as to be less than useless. It is in fact misleading.

As is "Liberal" "Progressive" "Conservative" and "Socialist".

The Liberal Party is Australia is their Tories, the Liberal Party in the UK is effectively so and Liberals in the US are supporting Obama despite everything.

Conservatives do anything other than conserve and are NOT the party of tradition since Thatcher at least. How an Ayn Randian or a PNAC signatory can say that he is conservative with a small C is anybody's guess.

If Obama, as was claimed, is a socialist, then I'm a small reef off the coast of Devon. Universal health is only Socialism if you are a wingnut.who should drink chlorine.

And as for "Progressive": why is that every progressive I have got to know is a prude, a snob and a cliquey twat?

Some of the monopolies that exist today were created without state involvement at all and monopoly in the way I've used it above refers to a monopoly of profit which is obviously a really bad thing.
If there was a monopoly of common sense then I wouldn't mind it either.

There are no laws of decency within the state , it’s a criminal cabal, the whole thing is funded by proceeds from crime, it could not possbily be any worse.

One word, Somalia.
There are criminals who keep kid gloves on and then there are those who don't bother at all.
They're both criminals and thats quite correct, however I'd much rather take the gentler crowd lol.
The much better choice is direct democracy of the type with mondragon.

I think you’re contradicting yourself here. If everyone has a direct equal share , aren’t they being forced into this?
“Forcing decent behaviour”.
Nope, you don't have to join mondragon do you? Are you with them now or something? lol.
You have to buy your job with mondragon, you buy a direct voting share. When you retire you sell your share.

No, very very different. With representative democracy you vote for rulers, with direct democracy you vote for decisions.
Its important to note that with anarcho-syndicalism the group as a whole cannot have secrets or lies, information is well disseminated for intelligent choice so that the group can function better as a whole, this is how good businesses work.
You cannot expect perfection or utopia, only something better to aspire towards, mondragon is an example of a better system to aspire towards which encourages decent behaviour which you agreed with above, hopefully you understand.

Libertarianism is a statist ideology, it is all about force, they scale it down from the more extreme democrat and socialists but the principle is identical and the historical lessons are there for everyone to see even if they were inclined to accept a little bit of violence for the common good. (The U.S.) .
Voluntaryism is not the same as Libertarianism, not even close.

What you just described is american libertarianism which is nothing more than laissez faire austrian economics, it has no social principles whatsoever and is therefore not a political ideology as it has no human connection whatsoever. It is for the benefit of the 'person' an artifical entity not the human being.
The figures I think are even more extreme than that. These people re not hard working, they are not productive, they do not generate wealth, they are a cancer on Society and they have gotten control of all those resources through state violence. I wouldn’t choose to engage with them, given the choice, would you?
Quite correct, but where is the choice? Its that or starve. Simples.
There might have been a time when you could farmstead, if such an option existed then you could say that there is choice but you can't farmstead now, all the land is owned by some rich bastard, bank or government, so we cannot now make a living from the land.
Quite deliberate of course, which ties in with what you said about force and law and I'm with you 100% on that in this example.
You’re fundamentally misunderstanding what government is and confusing it’s primary mechanisms with errors.
You'll have to back that one up somehow.

For example-
The Government should create, issue, and circulate all the currency and credits needed to satisfy the spending power of the Government and the buying power of consumers. By the adoption of these principles, the taxpayers will be saved immense sums of interest. Money will cease to be master and become the servant of humanity. -Abraham Lincoln

He obviously knew what the prime role of government actually was ;)
Like I said, this responsibility has been outsourced to someone else who in turn do not take liability for their actions (federal reserve, IMF, World Bank, BoE etc etc) by pretending to be government entities.
Seeing as govt has outsourced this role, they are no longer our government. They are someone elses.
No, I haven’t given government any “responsibility” and therefore, as far as I am concerned, there is no possbile way they can get it.
If you need people to run your life and tell you what to do, that’s fine, your choice, but you do not have the legitimate right to force that on me.

They don't really care about legitimacy when they are the sole source of it backed up by enforcers and media as mentioned before so no matter how right you are and sovereign by not partaking in voting for example etc you still end up in the same boat as everyone else.
Again I'd point at mondragon as an example of dismantling that stratified power-base and returning it to the people, or at least a means towards that end in a positive productive manner.

Progressive Taxation has been gradually getting replaced by Regressive Taxation.

Consequently the rich are getting richer and the poor, poorer.

Of course.
It's very effective.
Why anyone would think basing a society on theft and violence would turn out well for anyone other than Sociopaths is beyond me.

Interesting you use the term fascist for them.

They are private syndicalists or synarchists. (the exact opposite of anarcho-syndicalists) so they are about keeping wealth and control within a small elite group.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synarchism

National syndicalism is the authoritarian state opposite of anarcho-syndicalism and is often referred to as fascism.

"Koch Industries, Inc. /ˈkoʊk/ is an American multinational corporation" from wiki.
"Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power."
www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/b/benitomuss388775.html

Corporations are State entities.

It's Fascism and "they are about keeping wealth and control within a small elite group."
All forms of statism are about "keeping wealth and control within a small elite group", that's the game, the different ideologies are just stories told to children.

I would more or less agree with that, however I would say that understanding the various ideologies allows for interesting discussion and breakdown of methods of crowd control so to speak :)

Yeah, although "Progressive" is a pretty clear term, from progressive(ly) higher taxation. It's a euphemism for Fabian Socialism.
Yep :)
None of these people actually subscribe to the ideologies they put out.

You must be joking, loads actually believe in it :)
You should've seen Guevarista(Mike) before he got banned here lol.
