Bilderberg 2012: bigger and badder and better than eve

As the conference gets into full swing, Charlie Skelton meets the alternative media and their $700 cameras, as they remain convinced their mainstream brethren are missing the story

"Not to be used as safety barriers" was the warning on the safety barriers that the police laid around the gates of Bilderberg. The officers were firm but fair. "Madam, please step away with the balloons," they asked a protester, as she waved them angrily at arriving limousine. "But this is my first amendment right," she howled. I'll give you my balloons when you pry them from my cold, dead hands.

It's hard to look furious when you're holding balloons, but somehow she managed it. There's a lot of anger in the crowd this year – a great wall of noise met each delegate as they swooped up the hotel drive. Personally, I thought the crowd was a little harsh at times: branding each new arrival "thieving scum!" when, looking at the delegate list, no more than two thirds of those arriving could reasonably be called that.

The official list of participants was released early this year. Praise where praise is due: well done Bilderberg for starting to behave like a grown-up political summit. Good behaviour like this should be given positive reinforcement – I feel like I should ruffle Henry Kissinger's hair and toss him a meaty treat. Alas, I think I might be dropped by a sniper before I could reach his wheelchair.

That's if I managed to get past the eagle eyes of Senator John Kerry. He's attending this year, alongside Governor Mitch Daniels of Indiana. I can imagine they'd grab an arm each, while Nick Boles MP stood on his little stool in the corner, jeering, as I was dragged from the conference room, and booted into the parking lot by Mark Rutte, the Dutch prime minister, while Michael Noonan, Ireland's minister for finance, tells me in no uncertain terms to get lost. Which, by the way, is news to me – Ireland has a minister for finance?

What a lovely lot of politicians we've got at this year's Bilderberg. What a shot in the arm for democracy. I don't know if Lord Mandelson belongs on a list of public servants, but he's here; he's becoming quite a regular these days. Mandelson will be striving privately towards a better world with the Polish finance minister, the Finnish finance minister – and, wait, who's this…?

Why, it's cuddly old Bilderberg insider, the Lord Chancellor, Kenneth Clarke MP. No wonder the press officer at the Ministry for Justice last week was so unwilling to talk: "I'm not in a position to either deny or confirm that the minister will be attending." Yup. That's exactly the sort of transparency and openness Ken is so keen to see implemented – as he said only a few months ago:

"Transparency is the most effective public inoculation against corruption that any country can have. There is a strong public interest case for almost all government information to be open to scrutiny."

How very true. I feel a Freedom of Information request coming on.

Ken's presence makes up somewhat for the big absence of 2012: no David Rockefeller! What on earth would make the 96-year-old mega-banker miss his favourite big-money shindig? I guess Wisconsin must have rescheduled its annual Biting The Heads off Small Mammals Competition. Poor David, such bad timing. But I guess he's got a title to defend.

Even without Rocky, there's a stellar cast from the world of banking and finance. Old favourites like Agius and Flint (the chairfolk of Barclays and HSBC), and a new name on my radar – Michael J Evans – who enjoys the elegant title: vice-chairman, global head of growth markets, Goldman Sachs.

Evans will be conferencing with his esteemed colleages, James A Johnson (director of Goldman Sachs) and Peter Sutherland (chairman of Goldman Sachs International) – the last two both members of Bilderberg's Steering Group. The strong Goldman showing this year does so much to reassure me of the benign and worthwhile efforts of Bilderberg. They just want to get on and help us, quietly and secretly. Like a corporate cross between Santa Claus and a big friendly squid.

Another lovely chap from the world of banking is Timothy C Collins. Tim is on the board of Citigroup, has his own giant private equity company (Ripplewood Holdings) and is a director of the 'Tony Blair Faith Foundation, US'. Of the three, I know which one makes me trust him the least.

Speaking of Blair, there's some Tony Blair Bilderberg news just out. Mr Blair, as we know, attended the Bilderberg conference in 1993. Although he didn't, because he told Parliament that he didn't. So he didn't go. Unless he lied to Parliament about not going.

Let's see now. This is a written Q&A from March 1998:

Mr. Christopher Gill MP: To ask the Prime Minister which members of his government have attended meetings of the Bilderberg Group.

The Prime Minister: None.

But here's the thing… footage has just been released by activists from We Are Change, who took the liberty of sticking a microphone in Tony's face and asking him the same question.

Same question. Different answer.

"Yeah, it's a really useful group actually, I remember going back to that in 1993, and we, er… it's a great way too for people from different parts of the world to get together, um, so it's been good."

Blair's powers of syntax may be waning, but his memory seems to have improved in the 14 years since he denied going. It happens. It's a well-known medical condition – kind of a Reverse Alzheimer's.

After the awkward admission comes the killer question:

"Conflict of interest?"

You have to watch Tony Blair's discomfiture at that question. His answer is basically: "Yeah. Um." Watch it. And then wonder to yourself why such a skilled politician would tell such a stupid lie in the first place.

Luke Rudkowski is the We Are Changer who put Blair on the spot. He's here in Chantilly, outside Bilderberg, with more recording equipment strapped to him than the average moon lander.

"It's huge," he says, as he records the crowds. And the crowds just keep on growing. By early afternoon on Thursday, there are well over 200 people, and they keep rolling up. I hate to curse Bilderberg 2012 by saying this so early, but it feels like… this could be the big one. The breakthrough.

"Everyone's becoming citizen reporters these days", says Rudkowski – and even as he says it, we're being filmed by a representative of Occupy Portland. And over on a grassy knoll, the police are filming us being filmed.

There's so many cameras here, so many budding documentarians, so much youth, determination, tech savvy and political awareness – if I was Henry Kissinger, I'd be ordering another napalm strike right outside the gates of the Marriott.

The mainstream press dropped the ball on Bilderberg; in fact, I'm not even sure they ever had it in their hands. So people like Rudkowski have had to step in, pick up the ball, re-edit it, and stick it online with comments enabled. At Bilderberg 2012, the mainstream press is quite simply being bypassed. And there's me with my pen and notepad, interviewing Luke, while he livestreams it. I feel like a caveman with a bad haircut talking to an astronaut.

I ask Luke why he's come. "I try not to theorize. I go to the source. I try and find out exactly what's happening." Rudkowski used an article I'd written at Bilderberg 2010 to put Blair on the spot. In my piece, I'd used the evidence available online to call Blair a liar. Rudkowski went to the horse's mouth.

"There's a reason he lied. It shows you something's going on. The more questions I raise about Bilderberg, the more questions I have – there's a lot more to the story than what we're being told". Which, to be fair, isn't much. The Bilderberg Group isn't much good at telling their own story, which is a shame because it's quite a tale.

Rudkowski's also here "to open the dialogue", he says. "Conversation and communication can help fix a lot of the problems we're facing." Although I'm not sure that some of the things said to Blair on that video could fairly be described as 'dialogue openers'.

Another new media luminary working the gates at Bilderberg is Jason Bermas, of Loose Change. He's just flown in from upstate New York. "I took the pat-downs. No body scanners for me…"

He has come here with his $700 camera, "because we have to be here. The media has trillions of dollars to spend, and they're not here. But we have the technology, and I believe technology is the power that will lighten the darkness."

The power jumps a few thousand watts when an SUV rolls up and out hops the Oprah Winfrey of alternative media: Alex Jones. Millions listen his daily thunderings against the 'Empire of the Bankers'. He's broadcasting his show live from the police line, streaming video, one moment educating the police on global power structures, the next minute bullhorning some poor billionaire delegate as they try and slip inside unnoticed. "The answer to 1984?" yells Jones. "1776!" roars the crowd.

It's a kind of live interactive news documentary history wildlife show, a roar of protest from the lion's den, and everyone feels a part of it. The wall between people and events – that dusty old safety barrier between the news and its consumers – it's tumbling down around Bilderberg.

This the working media. They're out here, in the Virginia sun, working hard. Livestreaming, uploading, swapping data, checking audio feeds – in short, reporting the news. And why? Short answer: because CNN isn't.

To be fair to the dinosaurs, this year saw an actual proper mainstream journalist turn up to Bilderberg: the Washington Times sent Ben Wolfgang, who wrote an extremely decent piece – so there you go, mainstream news: it can be done. You may be late to the party, but there's plenty more booze behind the bar. Pour yourself a drink, and let's talk about the transnational machinations of the technocratic banking elite. You might want to sit down, this is going to take a while. It all starts with Plato…

Protest groups converge to denounce secretive Bilderberg conference

Annual off-the-record finance gathering attracts protesters from disparate groups, but they often have a similar goal in mind

The gathering outside the Westfield Marriott hotel in Chantilly included Ron Paul supporters, Occupy veterans, members of the 9/11 truth movement and Oath Keepers, a Tea Party-affiliated group comprised of military and law enforcement officers.

Carrying signs with messages such as "Humanity is winning" and "Warning to secret societies: you are pissing off American patriots. We have machine guns also," the 200 or so protesters could only be there for one event: Bilderberg.

The annual off-the-record gathering of global leaders in finance policy and national security was taking place behind chainlink fencing, No Trespassing signs and scores of local police. At the base of the driveway, the protesters congregated to denounce the meeting and shout at the occasional vehicles that entered and exited.

Participants in this year's meeting reportedly include Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, Indiana governor Mitch Daniels, Henry Kissinger, senior officials from a number of the world's largest banks, the co-founder of LinkedIn and a member of the Syrian National Council, among others.

According to Bilderberg's website, the forum is intended to foster a "broad cross-section of leading citizens that are assembled for nearly three days of informal and off-the-record discussion about topics of current concern especially in the fields of foreign affairs and the international economy."

The protesters were enthused by the turnout over the last two days. "The first day was already a record," said one, Justin Wallis.

Among the most vocal participants at Friday's rally was radio show host Alex Jones, who frequently led the demonstrators by megaphone. He argued the meeting constituted a violation of the law.

"This is illegal. Government officials meeting and discussing policy with private interests in secret, or representatives of other governments, is a violation of the Logan Act," he said, referring to a federal law first passed in 1799 that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments.

Jones was confident the presence of protesters was having an impact on the attendees of the meeting.

He added that Bilderberg meetings allow high-ranking officials to make deals away from the public eye.

"It's mainly about big government contracts, for the big wigs," he said. "And then the big wigs give the government people in the revolving door jobs."

Police made at least one arrest on Friday when a young man stepped into the street, prompting condemnation from the crowd. On the whole, however, interactions between protesters and the police were peaceful.

"It's just a day of work," said one officer, who insisted he was "not guarding anything", but simply protecting the Marriott's private property rights.

Bilderberg critics are often labeled conspiracy theorists, particularly due to beliefs that the meeting is a sinister attempt by the global elite to concentrate power and establish a global government.

But protester Max Dickstein insists the summit merits scrutiny.

Dickstein, from New York City, lived two blocks from 7 World Trade Center, which collapsed on September 11, though it was not struck by an airplane. His uncle was killed in the attacks. Dickstein was 12 years old at the time. Explanations for the collapse did not sit right with him.

"I couldn't really trust any narratives," he said. "Two planes hit three buildings. That doesn't add up to me. I felt an obligation to this movement," he said.

For Dickenstein, the fact that so many powerful figures meet at Bilderberg in a fashion that lacks transparency leaves him wondering, "Do people at this meeting know something I don't?"
The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.

Bilderberg 2012: bring on the Bilderbabes

Protesters at Bilderberg up their game: 'What do they want? Hegelian dialectics! When do they want it? Now!'

The protesters seem to have upped their game when it comes to slogans. "We are not the indentured slaves of your oligarchy!" booms a bullhorn, from beneath a banner that seeks redress for the "war profiteering" of "eugenicist thugs".

I don't know if it's the truth of the accusations or the volume of the anger, but one policeman tells us: "They're very scared by the reception the cars are getting, so they've told the drivers to accelerate now as they enter the hotel." There's also been a spate of bird-flipping from the drivers and bodyguards. Foot down and fingers up.

The police have rearranged the barricades outside the hotel, and implemented a zero tolerance policy towards people in the road. Two arrests have been made for 'jaywalking'. My wife witnessed the arrests, and tells me, "The police outside are genuinely worried that protestors will get run over. The limos aren't stopping for anything."

Not that everyone zooms through in a limo. I don't know the global implications of this, but the Chinese got their own minibus this year. The wingmirror whacked my wife on the nose as it sped inside. Still, she managed to click off a shot to reveal… wait – could it be?

Fu Ying, Chinese vice minister of foreign affairs arrives at the 2012 Bilderberg conference. Photograph: Hannah Borno for the Guardian

Yes! It's the only other woman in my life: Fu Ying of China. The ebullient Fu Ying (who stole my heart in St Moritz ) is one of a growing number of women invited to Bilderberg. Here's another:

Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, vice-president of Spain peers over the dashboard. Photograph: Hannah Borno for the Guardian
This cheeky face, peeking over the dashboard belongs to Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, the vice-president of Spain. Sáenz de Santamaría sits atop the Ministry of the Presidency, which (amongst other things) runs Spain's intelligence services. Aah, but look at her, isn't she just a sweetie?!

Sáenz de Santamaría comes hot foot from a meeting with the US Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner. She says: "The treasury secretary pointed out that we are working toward the same goal and a solution for the banks must be found." So presumably, over cocktails this weekend, she'll be hawking truckloads more Spanish debt. The bankers at Bilderberg will love her. Or eat her. One or the other.

Now, if you prefer your 'ladies of power' in more of an 'ice-queen' vein, then you might prefer the vice chairman of the World Economic Forum, Josette Sheeran:

In terms of power structures, Josette is number 2 at Davos, and Davos is about number 10 behind Bilderberg. She's one of a growing number of Bilderbergians from that strange, cash-rich, and largely tax-free world of forums and think tanks. On which note, let me introduce you to the undoubted pin-up of Bilderberg 2012, Kevin Warsh:

This young Pacino spent five years on the Board of the Federal Reserve System, and is now "at the Hoover Institution". He's from the intersection of government and academia beloved by Bilderberg (think Mario Monti – Steering Committee member and PM of Italy).

Then there's the intelligence world. We welcome back the head of the NSA, General Keith Alexander – who also happens to be chief of the military's Central Security Service. And we note with interest the presence of Thomas Donilon, the National Security Advisor at the White House – whose esteemed predecessor in that role is standing next to him at the buffet; Henry Kissinger.

There's a reason Bilderberg feels so comfortable in Chantilly, Virginia – 15 minutes up the road from CIA headquarters. It's because the US intelligence community is its spiritual home.

If you peer back into Bilderberg's past, and scan enough declassified documents, you can begin to appreciate how intimate the relationship is between global lobbying and global intelligence.

If you've ever find yourself wondering "what exactly is Bilderberg?", you might want to take a look at a press conference in 1950, held by a man called William Donovan.

William 'Wild Bill' Donovan was "the Father of American Intelligence" – and one of the most senior figures in the US intelligence scene at the time. You can read his CIA biography here but don't forget to clear your cookies afterwards.

Sitting next to Donovan was the man who pulled Bilderberg together in the early 1950s – Józef Retinger. A tireless fixer, social climber and committee former, Retinger in 1950 was the secretary-general of the European Movement. He was also a British intelligence operative, but that's a whole other twist in the tale.

Retinger's burgeoning European Movement was being funded by the CIA. And the man in charge of getting him the money? Tom Braden of the CIA. The third man holding the press conference and quoted in the Saturday Evening Post in 1967 saying, "I'm glad the CIA is immoral."

Bilderberg was Retinger's baby, and it was born out of a murky merger in 1954 of spooks and bankers, and fed from a bottomless bottle of spycash. But don't take my word for it. Go look at the documents. Don't think you 'know' about Bilderberg because Robert Kagan (the arch neo-con) tells you that "it's a lot of vaguely uninteresting people giving vaguely uninteresting lectures and then having nice meals in nice places."

Know about Bilderberg by finding out about Bilderberg. Don't theorize. Go read the documents. Go on. Google "CIA Bilderberg." Google "Retinger MI6". Google "Prince Bernhard IG Farben." Or have a look at a photo of the new head of Bilderberg looking cool in his Raybans. One or the other.

Bilderbergers commit a felony?

International lawmakers and other world figureheads are deep in discussion near Washington, DC this week at the 2012 Bilderberg Conference. But are members of the exclusive group breaking US law while meeting off the record?

Little is known about what happened at past Bilderberg meetings, let alone this year’s conference near the nation’s capital in Chantilly, Virginia. Over the years, however, some journalists and rogue reporters have either infiltrated the event or learned from insiders about the goings-on of the elusive meeting of the minds. With reports circulating that some of the planet’s most important decisions being birthed at Bilderberg, it isn’t farfetched that maneuvers involving international policy are being put in place this week where people like US Senator John Kerry and World Bank Group President Robert Zoellick are on the guest-list. If that’s indeed the case, though, several American officials could be breaking a long-standing federal law that prohibits exactly that behavior.

Under the Logan Act, a US law passed during the infancy of the country by President John Adams, American citizens cannot negotiate with foreign officials without the authorization of the country. According to the text of the Logan Act of 1799, “Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.”

The Bilderberg Conference may have been largely ignored by the media in decades past, but with this year’s gathering garnering perhaps the most attention in recent memory, the actions of elected US officials this time could end up being enough to bring charges against them. Even though Americans have been able to be persecuted under the law since nearly the dawn of the country, they never, in fact have been. For their actions at Bilderberg, US politics might be able to be brought, although there are no records of neither convictions nor prosecutions.

The actual conversations that occur at the Bilderberg Conference are cloaked in such secrecy that, often, attendees identified to have been at the gatherings have gone on the record to discount allegations that prove as much. Unless infiltrated fully, what actually occurs behind closed doors remains a mystery to most outside of the exclusive gang of around 150 members, but given news reports from years’ past, international and domestic policy is largely believed to have been crafted at the conference. As RT reported earlier this week, politicians including former presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton both attended Bilderberg conferences in the years before being elected to the Oval Office. Tony Blair was on hand at the 1993 gala before becoming prime minister of England in 1997, and the 2008 conference is believed to be the catalyst for that year’s US presidential election: rumors suggest that attendees settling on backing Barack Obama for the Democratic Party nomination at that year’s event, only for contender Hillary Clinton to bow out two days later.

Additionally, the website Prison Planet suggests that the European Union’s euro currency was developed by members of the Bilderberg Group and that a 2005 conference focused heavily on how to influence the price of oil in the months that would follow.
Henry Kissinger, the former secretary of state under US President Richard Nixon, has been a regular attendee of the Bilderberg Conference and is included on a roster of invited members made public this week by the group. For his role in the Vietnam War, he has been attacked by many critics as a war criminal. This year, the agenda is believed to be concentrated around the upcoming US presidential election and who Republican Party candidate Mitt Romney will chose as his running mate. Preliminary reports published in several American outlets speculate that Senator Marco Rubio will be plucked during Bilderberg to be the GOP vice presidential candidate.

Chantilly Laced: Holding Bilderberg and the Transnational Policy Elite to Account

If reports are to be believed, the great and the good of the Atlantic policy community are once again gathered for the annual Bilderberg conference. The town of Chantilly, Va. -- a stone's throw from Washington, D.C. -- is playing host to the event ensuring, in the middle of a U.S. presidential campaign, the attendance of key members of the U.S. business, political and financial elite. Not that Bilderberg organizers will be unduly concerned about the prospect of "no shows" -- the allure of the conference, even for the most powerful of people, is as irresistible as it ever was.

This Bilderberg gathering, however, comes at a particularly bad time for the transnational power elite. Not only is their enlightened liberal internationalist project unraveling before their very eyes but, to add insult to injury, they now have to parade around in conference-themed jackets to convince increasing numbers of protestors and journalists of how thoroughly decent, collegial and transparent they're being. In an interview on the UK's Channel 4, "The Secret Rulers of the World: The Bilderberg Group," the former Secretary General of Bilderberg, Martin Taylor, once observed that "one of the most frightening things [...] if you're anywhere near people who are in charge of governments or large businesses, is how they too are like 'corks bobbing around on the stream' of what's carrying on." The bizarre spectacle last year of attendees traipsing uncomfortably across the Swiss countryside -- in full view of media lenses -- may have been an attempt to demystify the event but, in terms of convincing people that our elites are capable, assured, and in control, it was nothing short of a PR calamity.

The power and influence of Bilderberg was never meant to be seen and, now its fragile and idiosyncratic nature has been laid bare, by both events and demands for greater transparency, its attendees appear both impotent and faintly ridiculous -- desperately clinging to a sense of importance and purpose while being simultaneously caught in the headlights. Their instinctive reaction, of course, will be to seek more discreet and efficient mechanisms of engagement -- and, without question or hesitation, turn back to the very same logic that helped to bring them (and the rest of us) to this point in the first place. As if to highlight the essential conceit and remoteness of elite thinking, it's a telling sign that, when faced with crowds of protestors, most Bilderberg attendees feel misunderstood. Given reports of attempts to organize a mass "Occupy-style" resistance this week, and the transnational elites' desire to avoid too much fuss, we may well witness the end of an organization that has become, for many, a symbol of the concentrated and hidden nature of elite power in world politics for well over fifty years.

But before critics get too carried away in celebrating the possible demise of Bilderberg, we should first recognize the role that it, and many dozens of other bi-lateral, tri-lateral, regional and global elite networks, play in world affairs. It's easy to argue that elite policy networks are unaccountable, undemocratic and illegitimate -- and that they serve the interests of the few rather than the many. But, international politics is riven with contradictions anchored, as it is, in the agendas and priorities of individual nation states. In the absence of a global regulatory framework, organizations like Bilderberg have helped to blur the edges of an otherwise brittle system of international relations that has consistently failed to transcend its protectionist tendencies. Without them, it's entirely conceivable that we'd have descended into many more international stand-offs and conflicts than we have.

I'm no apologist for the Bilderberg group (see this recent podcast) but neither am I completely naïve.

Transnational elite policy networks such as Bilderberg are an integral, and to some extent critical, part of the existing system of global governance. The practical problem is not so much that they exist, although we could talk about this ad infinitum, it is instead related to what they are doing and why they are doing it. It is here that our elites have been found most wanting. Their self-serving acceptance and peddling of dominant market logics, their fundamental lack of criticality and a lack of meaningful progress in the area of global social and political development is threatening the very peace and prosperity we look to them to provide.

I've never considered myself a radical. Like many people, I've been schooled in the belief that ideology and zero sum politics are dangerous things, that discussion and compromise are infinitely preferable to confrontation and dogma, that anger and violence have no place in a modern progressive society, and that we should vilify and distrust those who suggest otherwise. At heart, I still share these views but something has changed. My sense of fairness, pragmatism and reasonableness has been shaken to the core by the gross injustices of our society and the pervasive incompetence and corruption of our business and political elites. We face a fundamental crisis of legitimacy where engagement with -- and trust in -- our political systems is at an all-time low. Rightly or wrongly, Bilderberg has become a poster child for everything we fear, distrust and loathe about our policy elites. It's not, first and foremost, that our sensibilities have been spiked by systems that are undemocratic -- because, in a meaningful sense, they never have been -- but, critically, the knowledge that they're not acting in the interests of the whole. Our elites have failed us and, what's more, will continue to fail us unless we make them do otherwise.

Urpilainen on visit to US

The Finance Minister is to attend a meeting of the influential Bilderberg Group

Finance Minister and Social Democratic Party chair Jutta Urpilainen is on a working visit to the United States until this weekend. She left on Wednesday, meeting with Democratic Party leaders on Thursday.

The most important meeting of the trip is a Bilderberg group meeting in Chantilly, Virginia. Attendees will discuss austerity and economic growth, among other issues.

Urpilainen was previously in Washington in late April.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Katainen was in Germany on Thursday for the Baltic Sea States Summit as Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb headed to Brussels for a meeting of the EU's Foreign Affairs Council.

Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja is in Berlin for a meeting of the European Council on Foreign Relations.

Fuck those idiots!! They're all in cahoots with EU and other NWO outlets... Fuck how these traitors love their EU like an obidient student loves their teacher! Hah, we call Katainen here with a mock name "Käteinen" which means cash... :D Fits the fucker, that's all there is in his mind.

I hate how Finnish idiots do this, they want always to be the best example to who ever is controlling them. At soviet era it was Soviet union comission, now it's EU & NWO nazis. These motherfuckers have sold my country!!! A long time ago... After WWII there has not been real control over what happens to us.. First soviets, then EU run the show and these maggots just follow them like a dog follows it's master.

And If SUPO is reading this, go fuck yourselves and get a life!

(Just the usual smear piece from the Washington Post. Will they report that they themselves contributed to the funding of Bilderberg? See www.markdice.com/index.php?option=com_co...-mark-dice&Itemid=89)

Is Bilderberg a conference on world affairs or a powerful global cabal? Depends on who you ask

A dull office park near Dulles International Airport took on the sheen of a Hollywood thriller this week, when an invitation-only cadre of global leaders gathered for a secretive meeting known as the Bilderberg conference.

Henry Kissinger and Bill Gates were chauffeured in. Fairfax County police established a security perimeter around the Westfields Marriott and prohibited a Washington Post photographer from snapping pictures from a public street.

Outside the Jersey barriers, dozens of protesters and conspiracy theorists — convinced that Bilderberg is a global cabal that runs the world — waved signs and shouted into bullhorns.

“Honk if you hate the new world order!” they blared, hooting at drivers passing by. Fairfax police have made three arrests for a variety of misdemeanor offenses, including obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct, a police spokesman said.

“This is the true power structure, the shadow government,” said Shawn Flinchbaugh, 29. The machinist from York County, Pa., stood outside the conference center, clutching a handmade sign that read, “Bilderberg Scum.” “They say they don’t exist, but they do.”

According to its Web site, the Bilderberg meeting was organized by leaders from Western Europe and North America in the early days of the Cold War, and it is named for the Dutch hotel where the first conclave was held in 1954. The current chairman of its steering committee is a French count. Participants include the neoconservative scholar Richard Perle, billionaire Peter Thiel, and financiers such as Roger Altman and Kenneth M. Jacobs, chairman and chief executive of Lazard.

About 120 people participate in “nearly three days of informal, off-the-record discussion about topics of current concern” in economics and foreign affairs, with the crisis in Syria, the euro zone and the U.S. presidential election probably taking center stage this time.

Attendees are encouraged not to discuss the proceedings, which fuels the secrecy concerns. Many adopt a “Fight Club” approach to answering questions afterward. In other words, the first rule is, you do not talk about Bilderberg.

Over the years, conspiracy buffs have embraced notions such as the group is behind the creation of the euro and meets to select the winners and losers in the U.S. presidential election — or at least endorse the candidate’s vice presidential pick. A speech by then-Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) during Bilderberg in 2004 helped cement his vice presidential bid.

Vin Weber, a Washington lobbyist and former Minnesota congressman who has been a presenter at Bilderberg twice, laughs at such talk. He recalled a vigorous disagreement over presidential politics at a Bilderberg meeting, with Barack Obama supporter James A. Johnson advocating for his guy and former Bill Clinton adviser Vernon Jordan speaking up for Hillary Clinton.

“Everybody talks about this great conspiracy, but it’s really not. It’s fun to be able to talk about it,” said Weber, who is a Romney adviser.

So as the motorcades come and go, are they talking of Marco Rubio?

“Yesterday I saw three billionaires. These are the kingmakers. Whoever we see here is likely to be the vice presidential candidate,” said Mike Peachman, 24, a linguist from New York. He was keeping an eye out for Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels (R), a scheduled presenter sometimes mentioned as a Romney vice presidential pick. (Also on the invitation list was Donald E. Graham, chairman of the board and chief executive of The Washington Post Co.)

Every once in a while a van with tinted windows would drive through the gate, and the crowd of protesters would chant, “Scum, scum, scum!” as it sailed by. But then the sky darkened, and severe thunderstorms came sweeping through, ruining everything.

The timing couldn’t have been more perfect if the Lords of Bilderberg had arranged it themselves.

What are the Bilderberg Meetings – and what’s Michael Noonan doing there?

YOU MIGHT HAVE NOTICED that finance minister Michael Noonan – perhaps the one man with the most to gain or lose from the outcome of the Fiscal Compact treaty – wasn’t appearing on TV or radio much in the aftermath of the Yes result.

That’s because he’s spending the long weekend in the United States – attending the annual meeting of a secretive group which has no fixed membership, charter or stated public purpose.

Noonan is in Chantilly, Virginia, at the 60th meeting of the Bilderberg Group, an annual conference attended by a select group (never larger than 150) of the world’s people of influence.

While the 145-strong group’s real purpose has often been the subject of theory and hypothesis, its own stated function is to give leading figures from the corporate and political worlds an opportunity to engage with each other on a more cordial setting.

How is that possible? By excluding anyone without an invite – and that means the press, general public, or anyone else who may wish to attend.

As the group says on its own website, its first meeting in 1954 was prompted by fears that Western Europe and North America weren’t doing enough to work together on the pressing matters of the day.

Given that the United Nations spread too much weight among members from outside these continents, a separate group was formed – comprising two members (ideally one liberal and one conservative, though this has dissipated slightly) from each participating country.

They meet at the Hotel de Bilderberg in the Netherlands (hence the name of the group) in an off-the-record forum which has continued to meet annually – in a setting which apparently allows participants to speak more freely, and therefore to reach more meaningful conclusions.

Though this can no doubt have its advantages, the fact that most participants are unelected (being either academics, corporate figures, and occasionally publishers) means many have complained about the potential for a politically imbalanced discourse.

No mandate, no conclusions

Each year’s agenda includes around a dozen points of discussion, though the meetings – having no democratic mandate and only a loose internal structure – do not reach any formal ‘conclusions’.

The points up for discussion are usually only published at the conclusion of each summit, though it’s speculated that this year’s meeting – which includes the foreign affairs minister of the Syrian national council – will spend quite a lot of time on regime change.

As with last year, there are three Irish people in attendance in 2012: Noonan, former attorney general and Goldman Sachs International chairman Peter Sutherland – who sits on the group’s steering committee – and the last government’s attorney general, Paul Gallagher.

This weekend is Gallagher’s third meeting in succession; last year another former attorney general, former Tánaiste Michael McDowell, was among the attendees.

A spokesman for the Department of Finance told TheJournal.ie today that the event provided “an excellent opportunity to sell Ireland on the international stage”.

“The Minister is working to promote a positive image of Ireland and to attract investment and jobs into Ireland,” the spokesman said.
Among this year’s other attendees are Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt, LinkedIn chief executive Reid Hoffman, Economist editor John Micklethwait, Senator John Kerry, Henry Kissinger and White House national security advisor Thomas Donilon.

Noonan attends annual conference of Bilderberg group

US TRIP: FAR FROM celebrating the outcome of the fiscal treaty referendum at home, Minister for Finance Michael Noonan is in the US attending the annual conference of the secretive Bilderberg group.

Mr Noonan is one of 145 invited leaders and opinion formers taking part in the four-day get-together of the western world’s movers and shakers in Chantilly, Virginia.

Goldman Sachs chairman and former attorney general Peter Sutherland is also attending from Ireland, as is Paul Gallagher, another former attorney general.

This year’s conference is focused mainly on political, economic and societal issues, according to a press release from the group. Areas to be covered include “austerity and growth” in developed economies; transatlantic relations; the future of democracy; Russia; China; and the Middle East.

A spokesman for the Minister said the conferences were attended by some of the leading figures in the political and business worlds, so it was important for Ireland to be represented. “You’re better off in than out,” he said.

He added the Minister was working to promote a positive image of Ireland and would use the opportunity to advance Ireland’s case for investment, as well as represent the country’s position on the euro zone crisis.

The attendance at this year’s conference includes former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger, former UK chancellor Kenneth Clarke and EU commissioner Joaquín Almunia.

One-time world chess champion Garry Kasparov, who is now a politician in his native Russia, is also in attendance, along with Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte and US senator John Kerry.

Two-thirds of the participants are from Europe, with the balance coming from North America and elsewhere.

Over the years, many leading Irish politicians have attended Bilderberg conferences, including Garret FitzGerald, Charlie McCreevy and Michael McDowell.

Dr FitzGerald’s attendance at the conference in 1985 was the subject of heavy criticism by then Fianna Fáil leader Charles Haughey, who claimed it had links with Nato. Dr FitzGerald rejected the charge, accusing his political rival of paranoia.

Although the group issues a list of participants, meetings take place in private “in order to encourage frank and open discussion”.

No resolutions are proposed at Bilderberg meetings and no votes taken or policy statements issued.

Gov. Daniels participants in mysterious Bilderberg Meeting

INDIANAPOLIS -- Gov. Mitch Daniels was to come home Friday from an appearance at the little-known and somewhat mysterious Bilderberg Meeting.

Daniels spoke on a panel at the event in Chantilly, Va., but neither the governor's office nor Bilderberg would say what the panel was about. The conference started Thursday and will continue though Sunday.

The Bilderberg Meetings have a long history. The first meeting was put together by many European and American leaders who expressed concerns about relations between the U.S. and western Europe. The Bilderberg Meetings are so called because the first one took place at the Bilderberg Hotel in the Netherlands in May of 1954.

The goal of the meeting is to encourage dialog among U.S. and European leaders in an informal, off-the-record environment. The meeting this year will cover topics as diverse as energy, cyber security and the future of democracy.

The crowd for the Bilderberg Meeting is as diverse as the issues covered. Among the roughly 145 guests are:

>> Josef Ackerman, chairman of the Management Board of Deutsche Bank.

>> Lilli Gruber, an Italian journalist who also served on the European Parliament from 2004 to 2008.

>> Former U.S. National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger, who now chairs Kissinger Associates.

JIM TUCKER’S BILDERBERG DIARY

In Jim Tucker’s Bilderberg Diary, James P. Tucker, Jr., Editor Emeritus of AMERICAN FREE PRESS, lays out, for the first time, his entire remarkable history of covering Bilderberg literally infiltrating Bilderberg meetings, procuring their private documents, and working relentlessly to shine the spotlight of public scrutiny on Bilderberg’s affairs. Tucker’s prose, first-hand, folksy and colorful, will introduce you to the little-known arena of the Bilderberg elite.

This volume is a memorable and panoramic journey that will lay bare the realities behind modern-day international power politics in a way that you’ve never seen before. And the book includes several representative lists of Bilderberg membership over the past several years, more than 80 fascinating on-the-spot photographs of the Bilderbergers in action and photo reproductions of actual Bilderberg documents secured by Tucker.

Plus a fascinating Afterword by Willis A. Carto, the man who first suggested Tucker cover Bilderberg for The Spotlight newspaper, realizing what was happening behind closed doors at Bilderberg meetings was far more important, and sinister, than Bilderberg press releases were admitting. If you’ve ever heard the mass media claim that concerns about Bilderberg are “just some crazy conspiracy theory,” you’ll definitely think otherwise as you travel with Jim Tucker into the world of Bilderberg.

Senators, Prime Ministers--and Texas Teachers' CIO--Attend Bilderberg Conference

Britt Harris, the chief investment officer of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, is taking part in the exclusive Bilderberg Meetings, an historically secretive conference that has encountered scrutiny and backlash for allegedly aggregating only the rich and powerful.
(June 1, 2012) -- Alongside senators, prime ministers, and banking kingpins, one (perhaps) unusual attendee is currently at this year's Bilderberg meetings: Texas Teacher Retirement System (TRS) CIO Britt Harris.

Harris' presence at the historically secretive three-day event in Chantilly, Virginia, perhaps sheds light on the growing influence of asset owners in the United States and around the world. In November 2011, private equity firms Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) and Apollo Global Management were selected to manage $6 billion for TRS. Each firm announced that it would receive $3 billion from TRS to manage in separate accounts devoted solely to the scheme. The deal marked a big win for the money management firms, increasingly eager and successful in soaking up pension capital.

For years, conspiracies have swirled over the implications of the secretive meeting Harris is attending. One theory goes so far as to speculate that the Bilderberg participants are responsible for choosing the United States' next president. According to the Canada's Calgary Herald, the conference has already attracted Occupy protesters at the Westfields Marriott, located about 25 miles from the White House. Critics of the meeting disagree with the forum of only the rich and powerful meeting in secrecy.

The meetings, an annual, invitation-only conference consisting of about 150 guests from North America and Western Europe, have been held with the aim of promoting a greater dialogue between both sides of the Atlantic among industry leaders. Participants are chosen for their experience, their knowledge, their standing and their contribution to the selected agenda, according to the Bilderberg website. About one-third of participants are from government and politics, and two-thirds from finance, industry, labour, education and communications.

As described on Bilderberg's website: "Bilderberg takes its name from the hotel in Holland, where the first meeting took place in May 1954. That pioneering meeting grew out of the concern expressed by leading citizens on both sides of the Atlantic that Western Europe and North America were not working together as closely as they should on common problems of critical importance. It was felt that regular, off-the-record discussions would help create a better understanding of the complex forces and major trends affecting Western nations in the difficult post-war period. The Cold War has now ended. But in practically all respects there are more, not fewer, common problems - from trade to jobs, from monetary policy to investment, from ecological challenges to the task of promoting international security. It is hard to think of any major issue in either Europe or North America whose unilateral solution would not have repercussions for the other."

The conference group now posts the participant list on their official website. In the past, moles inside the organization would release the secretive list to journalists, most notably Jim Tucker of the American Free Press.

Along with Harris, attendees at this year's conference include Senator for Massachusetts John Kerry, Executive Chairman of Google Eric Schmidt, Chairman of Barclays Marcus Agius, Fouad Ajami, Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, Member of Parliament Nick Boles, Thomas Enders, the CEO of Airbus, Vice Chairman and Global Head of Growth Markets at Goldman Sachs Michael Evans, and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. Partner Kenneth Mehlman.

Tea Party and Occupy activists rub shoulders at Bilderberg protest

With protest entering its third day in good spirits, even police officers raise the odd smile as they hold the line

A protest targeting a secretive meeting of powerful international leaders entered a third day Saturday, with numbers swelling well into the hundreds.

Clear skies and pleasant temperatures made for a picnic-like atmosphere as a mix of Ron Paul supporters, members of the 9/11 truth movement and a smattering of Occupy protesters gathered outside the Westfield Marriott hotel in Chantilly, Virginia where members of the Bilderberg group are meeting.

The demonstration has been growing in numbers since early in the week, with Saturday being the most well-attended day of action by far.

Scores of protesters gathered at the entrance of the hotel, launching into a chorus of jeers each time a vehicle suspected of carrying Bilderberg attendees entered or exited the property.

"Get out of our country," yelled one. "Traitor," screamed another.

Breaking from the dishing out of verbal abuse, demonstrators took it upon themselves to light-heartedly tease the dozens of police officers ordered to keep them off the site of the meeting.

One young man with a megaphone initiated a "who's got the flattest flat-top among our law enforcement" contest. When the crowd decided upon its champion even a few officers were seen chuckling at their co-worker's expense.

Down the road another group of protesters gathered outside the chain-link fence surrounding the Marriott's perimeter.

With the hotel in sight just a few hundred yards away, demonstrators broke into a chant of "murderous scum", "treason" and "we are aware."

As the noise and chants continued to escalate, the fence bowing with the weight of the protesters pressed against it, roughly a dozen police made their way through the trees to stand between the crowd and the building.

One young man yelled to the police: "We are not the criminals, the people in the building are the criminals."

Protesters view the annual off-the-record Bilderberg meeting - which draws dozens of influential figures in finance, national security and politics – with suspicion. Some go as far as to suggest that those invited plan the establishment of an oppressive "new world order".

"Honk if you hate the new world order," protester Steve Miroy yelled by megaphone to a passing car.

Miroy, who described himself as "British by birth and a rebel by the grace of God", was the only protester who was visibly armed, proudly sporting a Colt 357 Magnum in a leather holster on his waist.

A Virginia resident since 1973, Miroy said: "If Virginia seceded tonight I'd be back here tomorrow with a gray uniform on."

He added: "These people rule the world. It's Satan's kingdom, they're the human form. They're really bad people."

Miroy attended the demonstration in garb adorned with the Gadsden flag, an emblem adopted by many within the Tea Party movement.

But the protest marked the gathering of a diverse cross-section of contemporary US activist movements.

Chris McCarron stood outside the fence surrounding the Marriott with a 99% flag, an overt nod to the Occupy movement.

For McCarron, who participated in Occupy protests in Colorado, the motivation for attending the rally was simple: "A shadowy group of rich people gathering together, making their plans for the world; I'm not going to sit on my ass and let them do it. They're gonna hear my voice."

McCarton hoped the movements could find common ground and come together.

"It was funny, earlier today me and a Tea Party guy, we threw our arms over each other like 'Hey, here we are, we're working together on this."

"We're all kind of protesting the same thing, just different segments of it," he said. "Whenever we can we should get together."

Conspiracy theorists join the world's elite

There are things going on at the Bilderberg conference in Virginia today that most of us will never learn about, such as who among the attendees got the sole presidential suite at the host hotel, a faux Georgian Marriott? Was it the Queen of the Netherlands, the president of the World Bank, the executive chairman of Google – or perhaps Henry Kissinger?

More urgent is to discover what they and the other 140-odd participants have been talking about at the three-day gathering that ends tonight. For some consider Bilderberg a cabal of the planet's most devilish financiers, industrialists and power brokers whose missions, they assert, include choosing the next US president (or, at least, vice) and forming a clandestine world government.

Maybe Ken Clarke, an alleged proponent of openness, will tell us when he comes home with the other Britons who received an invitation, such as Douglas Flint, group chairman of HSBC, Marcus Agius, head of Barclays, and Lord Mandelson. If we are lucky, they will conjure solutions to the euro crisis and violence in Syria – after all, Bassma Kodmani, who sits on the Syrian National Council, is taking part.

A cross between Davos and an Ivy League/Oxbridge reunion, Bilderberg has been going strong since its first annual shindig in a Dutch hotel – the Bilderberg – in 1954. That meeting "grew out of the concern expressed by leading citizens on both sides of the Atlantic that Western Europe and North America were not working together as closely as they should on common problems of critical importance," the website says.

But it is all very private – suspiciously, agonisingly so, as far as the world's conspiracy theorists are concerned. "The meeting is private in order to encourage frank and open discussion," the website avers. Barack Obama said much the same when he held his G8 summit two weeks ago in Camp David, with copses of oak and rhododendron to keep reporters at bay. And the Secret Service.

While 1 per cent of the 1 per cent were gathered inside Westfields Marriott in Chantilly, the more fractious of the oppressed 99 per cent assembled noisily outside. About 200 protesters yelled "scum" as one black limousine after another turned into the hotel drive. With senior figures from Goldman Sachs such as Peter Sutherland here, too, some raucousness was inevitable. By Friday night, there had been three arrests.

One of the protesters' cheerleaders and a proponent of the more unlikely conspiracy theories is the US radio host Alex Jones. He calls the gathering illegal because it violates a federal US law that forbids unauthorised negotiation with foreign governments. As for the security at Chantilly, it's "unprecedented", he says.

Among the protesters are Tea Party members, Occupy activists, military veterans for the 99 per cent and members of the movement dedicated to revealing who was really responsible for 9/11. The slogans on their banners were alternately pithy and venomous, such as "Humanity is winning" or "Warning to secret societies: you are pissing off American patriots. We have machine guns also".

Also not beloved outside the Marriott gates is something that in Twitter-speak comes out merely as "MSM". That would be us, the mainstream media, who are rudely faulted for not paying attention to what Bilderberg gets up to. This year, though, the conference made the names of attendees public for the first time and, behold, among them were some highly mainstream media names. There to keep a record of it all are John Micklethwait, editor-in-chief of The Economist, Peggy Noonan, columnist at The Wall Street Journal, and Gideon Rachman, global affairs commentator at the Financial Times. Two other Economist writers were listed as "rapporteurs".

We await their Bilderberg 2012 chronicles with unusual interest.

U.S. Bilderberg Attendees Violating Federal Law, Activists Say

As a shadowy collection of the world’s power brokers gathers in Chantilly, Virginia, for the elite Bilderberg conference this weekend under unprecedented media scrutiny, activists from across the political spectrum are arguing that U.S. citizens attending the controversial confab are potentially committing a felony by violating the Logan Act. And while the chances of charges being brought anytime soon are probably slim, anti-Bilderberg protesters admit, more than a few critics of the meeting are still loudly calling for federal prosecutions to bring any and all perpetrators to justice.

The yearly gathering includes media magnates, titans of industry, top bankers, influential politicians, royalty and nobility, prominent academics, military and “intelligence” chieftains, and many other members of the so-called “global elite.” And the 2012 conference is no different. According to a guest list released by the group — which analysts who study Bilderberg say typically omits certain key participants — there are about 50 Americans in attendance, all of them extraordinarily influential. Other participants hailed mostly from Europe, though even a high-ranking official from the Communist dictatorship ruling China was in attendance this year.

The legal problem raised by critics is that federal law specifically bars any U.S. citizen without government permission from working with foreign officials on matters of policy. Passed under the John Adams administration in 1799, the Logan Act was amended as recently as the 1990s and, despite almost never being used, remains on the books today. And that, Bilderberg opponents say, means that Americans meeting with foreign officials at the secretive gathering should be investigated and eventually prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The Logan Act states, in part: “Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.”

Numerous bloggers and activists have suggested that, based just on what is known already from public statements, simply attending a Bilderberg meeting should constitute sufficient grounds for immediate arrest and investigation of Americans. At least one activist and commentator, Brian D. Hill, has already notified police of the potential violation at what he described to law enforcement as the “criminal gathering” in Virginia. It was not immediately clear whether authorities looked into the matter.

“This is illegal,” popular radio-host Alex Jones, famous for using a bullhorn to lambaste elite attendees from afar, was quoted as saying by the U.K. Guardian newspaper as he led chanting “Occupy Bilderberg” protesters outside the gathering. “Government officials meeting and discussing policy with private interests in secret, or representatives of other governments, is a violation of the Logan Act."

Protesters gathered outside the Westfields Marriot hotel where the Bilderberg meeting is underway also demanded prosecutions, calling on police to arrest the participants for everything from violations of the Logan Act to involvement in war crimes, mass murder, conspiracy, and more. Other activists carried signs urging law enforcement officials to take action against what critics consistently refer to as a gathering of “criminals.”

“All of them are in violation of the law and should be arrested immediately," noted liberty-minded analyst Kurt Nimmo in a piece declaring that the meeting was itself illegal. “Considering their other crimes — war, mass murder, the theft of trillions and other assorted monumental scams and felonies — violating the Logan Act pales in comparison. It would be nice, though, if one or two of the cops now surrounding the Marriott in Chantilly marched into the meeting and arrested a few of the traitors.”

In online forums, blog posts, and the comment sections of news articles all across the internet, commentators outraged about alleged Logan Act violations and the secret meeting more broadly also demanded that American attendees be arrested. Some even pondered what would happen if a brave public official decided to risk an attempt at actually enforcing the law.

“Considering the Logan Act is still on the books, the participation of government officials at Bilderberg is blatantly illegal,” noted a commenter on an online forum of dedicated Rep. Ron Paul supporters, wondering what would happen if Virginia Gov. Robert McDonnell decided to arrest the participants. “We have the complete list of attendants, so, in a just world, it would not be difficult to prosecute these criminals.”

Last year, Rep. Paul himself called for an investigation and noted that U.S. officials participating in the yearly gathering — specifically Texas Gov. Rick Perry — were quite possibly breaking the law. “This information about him going over there and violating the Logan Act and getting involved, I’m just impressed that that’s in the ordinary media — I think that’s encouraging, too,” Paul said during an interview on talk radio, noting that Gov. Perry’s attendance was “a sign that he’s involved in the international conspiracy.”

But while the potential Logan Act violations were generally overlooked in most of the U.S. press, foreign reporters and news outlets did mention it — especially in, bizarrely enough, Russia. “The Bilderberg Conference may have been largely ignored by the media in decades past, but with this year’s gathering garnering perhaps the most attention in recent memory, the actions of elected US officials this time could end up being enough to bring charges against them,” reported the Kremlin-funded RT broadcaster.

Even Pravda ran an online column attacking the meeting and the alleged law breaking going on there. “The Bilderbergs are people who say they are helping humanity so they can make a buck, but are as arrogant as Lucifer and no more sympathetic than he is towards mankind,” wrote Xavier Lerma, claiming that the “Communists took over” America decades ago. “Why is the Bilderberg meeting a big deal. Well, for one thing it is illegal under the Logan Act which makes their New World Order illegal.”

There were more than a few Americans directly tied to government in attendance at this year’s gathering. Among them: NSA chief General Keith Alexander; Thomas Donilon, Obama’s National Security Adviser; former U.S. National Security Adviser and “New World Order” promoter Henry Kissinger; failed GOP Presidential hopeful and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman; Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.); World Bank boss Robert Zoellick; Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) Co-Chair and former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin; and many others.

Outside of government – at least officially – were other important U.S. players in global affairs. Banking, media, industry, tax-exempt foundations, internet, and many other fields were represented. Some of the American attendees included Michael Evans, the vice chairman of Goldman Sachs; Reid Hoffman, the co-founder and executive chairman of the social-networking site LinkedIn; Environmental Defense Fund President Fred Krupp; Dow Chemical chief Andrew Liveris; Carnegie Endowment boss Jessica Mathews; Washington Post CEO Donald Graham, Craig Mundie, Chief Research and Strategy Officer for Microsoft; Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan; Citigroup Vice Chairman Peter Orszag; Arch neo-conservative Richard Perle with the American Enterprise Institute; media icon Charlie Rose; Eric Schmidt, the executive chairman of Google; and many more.

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels also appeared at the gathering briefly, leading Bilderberg commentators to speculate that he may have been vetted or groomed for future positions of influence, including possibly the Vice President slot on a Mitt Romney GOP ticket. Daniels apparently left early and returned to Indiana on Friday, local media reported. Posters on Twitter also cited the Logan Act while blasting his attendance.

“The Conference will deal mainly with political, economic and societal issues like Transatlantic Relations, Evolution of the Political Landscape in Europe and the US, Austerity and Growth in Developed Economies, Cyber Security, Energy Challenges, the Future of Democracy, Russia, China and the Middle East,” claimed an official press release by the controversial group, founded more than 50 years ago by Nazi SS member Prince Bernhard of Holland and others. “The meeting is private in order to encourage frank and open discussion.... At the meetings, no resolutions are proposed, no votes taken, and no policy statements issued.”

At least two anti-Bilderberg protesters have been arrested for alleged “jaywalking” and “disorderly conduct.” But with Attorney General Eric Holder and his Justice Department already under fire for allegedly lying under oath, obstructing congressional investigations, unlawfully defying subpoenas, shipping American guns to Mexican cartels, and laundering drug money, activists are not optimistic about the chances of Bilderberg attendees being charged with a federal offense anytime soon.
The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.

Bilderberg 2012: real men don't like oligarchs

I handed the goji berries to the cop. "He dropped these." The cop thanked me, tossed the gojis in the trunk, and bustled away his captive amid a cacophony of outrage from the crowds. Moments earlier, the man with the berries had called out to the crowd: "They can't arrest us all! Let's stand together!" Moments later, poignantly, he was grabbed by the police and bundled into the squad car.

It was a silly arrest, really. He wasn't doing anything at all. He was eating goji berries, standing on the edge of the road. Jaysnacking. A token flex of muscle from Fairfax County police. I'm not sure this constitutes a legal defence, but I'm pretty sure that if you're eating a bag of organic goji berries, you're probably not much of a threat to society. As the police pulled away, the bullhorn sirens started up and I walked away from the noise.

There was a little too much testosterone on the sidewalk this afternoon – a few too many megaphones for my liking. But hey, you want to shout about the tyranny of a corrupt transnational banking oligarchy, you go right ahead. I'm not about to tell you to hush. It's horses for courses. Two years ago, a group of Spanish activists sat in silence on the beach and sent a white ring of positive energy up the hill to encircle and cleanse the Bilderberg hotel. Whatever gets the job done.

As I left the crime scene, I met a member of Oathkeepers trotting down from their gazebo to check on the arrest. "We'll be looking at the video evidence," he assures me, puffing past.

The Oathkeepers are a posse of military veterans and retired police officers, who have come to keep an eye on things at Bilderberg 2012. They're an incredibly reassuring presence; tough, avuncular – darn it they just want to make you go up and shake them by the hand and say: "Thank you, sir, for being here."

The aim of Oathkeepers is encourage anyone who has sworn to defend the constitution – so that's military, law enforcement officers, and first responders – to honour their oath. They're here at Bilderberg to keep a grizzled eye on things.

"We try to stay mission specific," says John Oetken, an Oathkeeper from Orange County – although at Bilderberg, their mission has crept a little to include overseeing not only the police, but also the protesters. "We're a neutral party. We're here to make sure it's a peaceful process, and to keep the knuckleheads in line, from both sides."

I had breakfast this morning with three other veterans – retired Navy men – who have taken a road trip up from Florida to be here at Bilderberg…

Dr Rick Davis is about the calmest person I've ever met. A former Flight Surgeon, he spent 9 years in the military, can fly an F16 and carried out missions with the Navy Seals. I ask him why he's come here. He takes his iPhone and shows me a quote from the anthropologist Margaret Mead:

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Rick and his fellow veterans, Wayne Fritzsche and Bob Romanko, are about as far from whatever lazy caricature of 'Bilderberg activist' might exist in the mind of an idiot. Wayne is the chairman of a publicly traded pharmaceuticals company. "I understand what having a full diary means – and let me tell you, the people who go to Bilderberg aren't going to block off three or four days just to have a 'chat'. They wouldn't give three or four days to a state visit. A couple of hours, dinner and you're done. Bilderberg is a co-ordinated effort on a huge scale".

But an effort to do what? Rick answers.

"At Bilderberg are the apex predators of the world crime syndicate. Now, I'm a physician. These people display all the classic symptoms of psychopathy. They exhibit an obsessive compulsion towards the exercise of power. These are extremely ill people, they have a culture of negativism and death. And I'm here to stop their agenda. It's the agenda that's killing us."

The risk is that great? Rick nods matter-of-factly. "I'm a trauma physician – which is all about assessing risk. I have a considerable knowledge of nuclear, biological and chemical warfare. I'm CEO of a company, and in business you're always asking: where is my nearest risk? Risk assessment is my job. And right now, we're at risk from the biggest threat to humanity there's ever been."

These men feel a moral imperative to stand up and square off against the threat. As Bob says: "I simply cannot do nothing." A former Navy historian, Bob worked in sports radio and has the voice to match. His growls his frustration at the fact that his son, a journalist, can't get his head round the seriousness of the crisis. "He's married a doctor, he's lives in a fabulous city, he's living the American dream. He just doesn't see that the American dream is heading off a cliff."

I ask Rick why he thinks that the 'first responders' to the threat, the activists outside the hotel gates, are so predominantly male. "I've thought about this," he says. "Men protect the clan. We're hard-wired to look outwards for a threat. Women are hard-wired to protect the family, the house. Men are looking at the horizon. What's coming down the road?"

A mile up the road at Bilderberg, the crowd has grown to around 500 people (a new Bilderberg record!) and I'd say well over 80% of them are men. One of them is Matthew Medina from We Are Change San Antonio – I ask him why there are so few women around him. "Dang, dude, that's a good question," he says. "It's heavy on the soul to protest against the global elite, about a superclass meeting in secret. But listen, women are paving the way in protesting against food laws and GMO, additives and fluoride. We all do our bit."

But at Bilderberg – it's the men. "In a way, maybe this is our sports. This is our challenge – to make some noise and bring media attention to this event. Bilderberg is our football field." Do you play any sports yourself? "I breakdance. I used to be heavily into the underground hip hop scene – my crew was Public Zoo, out of Corpus Christi, Texas. It's still around, 10 years after I started it. B-Boy Spaceboy, that's me. Mainly I do tricks – I freeze. You want a see a freeze?"

He holds the pose, and snaps back to his feet, acknowledging the whoops. Oh yeah, B-Boy Spaceboy's still got it. But he no longer competes. "These days I'm an electrician, I'm a blue collar guy, I work 40 hours a week, but what do they know about that?" he says, jerking a thumb towards the security fence. "And what do they care?" He heads off to rejoin his We Are Changer buddies, who force this confession from a passing limo: "Are you guys globalists? No? Oh… you're hairdressers."

If Bilderberg is our football field, where does this leave 'sports' in the life of the activist male?

Collin Abramowicz is 22, and comes from a background soaked in sports: "My stepfather watches baseball, my father watches football, all my friends are obsessed with sports. I used to do wrestling at school, but now my priorities have shifted. You cannot get passionate about something when you're being deceived. They're magicians – they are doing something with one hand while you're watching the other. Sport is a distraction."

From what? "How about the NDAA? Or how about HR658? Why does the government want to put 30,000 surveillance drones in the sky by 2020?"

"Look at the newspaper," says his friend Aaron Wolkind, "it's half sports. Billions of dollars are poured into this stuff, ramming it into the public psyche. People's primal competitive urges are focused onto a false, superficial sports-reality. My friends who are still into sports, I can't relate to them any more. They channel all their passion and energy into something meaningless. And they know so much about it: all the statistics; who might or might not get drafted into which team. I've got friends who will literally fight over sports. Me? I'm passionate about the real world."

Noam Chomsky made exactly this point in a 1992 interview featured in Manufacturing Consent. Chomsky describes sports as:

…another crucial example of the indoctrination system, in my view… it offers people something to pay attention to that's of no importance… And in fact it's striking to see the intelligence that's used by ordinary people in [discussions of] sports [as opposed to political and social issues]. I mean, you listen to radio stations where people call in -- they have the most exotic information and understanding about all kind of arcane issues. And the press undoubtedly does a lot with this.

A study of Bilderberg's rich (in every sense) history chimes with a peculiarly male hunger for sports-facts. Daniel Kirby, 28, is one of the few Brits here, a history student from Chester. Daniel's got the hunger. "If I read something, I have to find the source, to trace things back." As for Bilderberg: "This means looking at the interlocking directorships of the delegates, reading the think tank documents. Have you read 'Which Way to Persia?' from the Brookings Institute?" I confess I haven't. "It's a hugely complex subject, obviously, but let's just say – the road to Tehran goes through Damascus." I mention that Bassma Kodmani, a senior member of the Syrian National Council, is at Bilderberg this year. Daniel gets out his notebook. "I'll have to check that."

This is what I love about Bilderberg. Having conversations that can swerve from the Brookings Institute, to Hegelian dialectics, to Daniel asking me: "Do you know the Olympic torch relay was invented by the Nazis?" This sparks a quick five minute chat about Goebbels, propaganda and Edward Bernays. Once we're on the Nazis it's a short hop and a skip back to Bilderberg.

Me: "So, you know Prince Bernhard worked for IG Farben?"

Daniel: "NW-7, their intelligence unit. And you know about Allen Dulles and the Nazi money?"

Me: "Oh my God – Harriman, and the Bush family. It's incredible."

God I'll miss this place. I do slightly worry that I've become a Bilderberg nerd, reading transcripts of Henry Kissinger's phonecalls with David Rockefeller from the '70s, and knowing which Bilderbergers sit on the board of the Institute of International Finance – the body that represents the private holders of the Greek debt. I've started to plan holidays around international research archives.

"There's kind of a nerd aspect to the research," admits B-Boy Spaceboy. "I come from a nerd background – I collect comic books. You know Jason Bermas, the documentary maker, he's a massive fan of The Simpsons. I'm more in The Amazing Spider-Man myself. We're like the guys from The Big Bang Theory. Like a lot of nerds, I've had to stand up to bullies. And that's what we're doing here."

Nerds versus bullies. That's a description of Bilderberg I haven't heard before, but a good one. Nerds and veterans. Liberty's best hope.

Bilderberg Group mystery - international banking & otherworldly interests

The Bilderberg Group is concluding its annual meeting this weekend in Chantilly, Virginia (a suburb in the Washington DC metro area) to discuss a range of hot button international issues. The meeting (May 31 to June 3) has attracted protestors many of whom believe that the Bilderberg annual meeting serves to expand the interests and influence of international banking cartels. Protestors and critics believe the Bilderberg meeting is a forum where world policies are secretly decided, and implemented. High among these policies is the creation of a one world government and central bank. In contrast, the Bilderberg Group website claims that its meetings are merely “a small, flexible, informal and off-the-record international forum in which different viewpoints can be expressed and mutual understanding enhanced.” The Bilderberg website further points out “no resolutions are proposed, no votes taken, and no policy statements issued.” So what is the real agenda behind the Bilderberg group? Is it to promote the interests of international banking cartels and a one world government? Alternatively, is Bilderberg simply an annual forum for leading industrialists, bankers, hi-tech gurus, and up-and-coming politicians to meet, learn about each other, and better understand international events? The ultimate answer may be truly out of this world.

According to Bilderberg Group critics such as Alex Jones, currently leading an Occupy Bilderberg protest, the annual meeting serves the interests of an international banking cartel intent on creating a one world government and a global Central Bank. To achieve these long term goals, the Bilderberg Group meets annually to implement international policies where they secretly manipulate national politics, economics, and global events. The ultimate goals are all very worldly: a One World Government controlled by a World Central Bank. The international banking families would provide much of the capital for setting up the World Central Bank thereby creating virtually unlimited wealth for future generations of international bankers. This wealth would be more than sufficient to satisfy the greed, ambitions, and political needs of international banking interests in controlling humanity. The Bilderberg Group has already become, according to Daniel Estulin, a shadow world government:

… they have gathered yearly in a luxurious hotel somewhere in the world to try to decide the future of humanity … the Bilderberg Group has grown beyond its idealistic beginnings to become a shadow world government, which decides in total secrecy at annual meetings how their plans are to be carried out. They threaten to take away our right to direct our own destinies.

So are Jones, Estulin and other critics correct? Is the annual Bilderberg meeting merely a front for international banking interests that form the backbone of a shadow world government?

The following story was told to me by a former hotel employee that had worked at a venue where the Bilderberg group was meeting one year. This was a year where Bill Clinton was attending according to this employee. I have met this former hotel employee and will simply refer to this person as Mr B. I found Mr B to very credible, and he had no reason to fabricate what follows.

While at work during the Bilderberg annual meeting, Mr B was instructed to deliver an important message to a specific person attending a meeting in one of the smaller meeting rooms being used by the Bilderbergers. As is now well known, it is the tradition of the Bilderbergers to hire an entire hotel for its exclusive use during an annual meeting. All hotel staff are basically there to serve the needs of Bilderberg participants during the meeting. So it was not unusual for Mr B to be given such a task which he was now responsible to complete. Initially, Mr B was refused entry and was asked to hand the message over to someone else. Mr B insisted that he was under strict orders to deliver the message personally. After some heated discussion, Mr B was given permission to enter the meeting room. That’s when things became very bizarre.

Mr B claimed upon entering he saw around 24 people seated around a large rectangular table. They were speaking in a cacophony of sounds, none of which was intelligible. It didn’t sound like any language Mr B had ever heard before. Mr B couldn’t see any faces among those seated around the table. He could see their physical bodies in suits, etc., but the faces were hazy due to some kind of mist or fog. Mr B reported that there was an intense energy field pervading the room – it was definitely very unusual and felt otherworldly. Mr B felt resentment being projected towards him over his unwelcome presence. He was directed towards the person to whom he had to deliver the message. Mr B delivered the message and promptly left the room. He was unaware of the message’s contents. Soon after leaving the room, Mr B experienced a massive headache, which lasted several days and he had to take time off.

Mr B’s experience suggests that an element within the Bilderberg group does have an otherworldly composition and agenda. It’s very likely that Mr B had viewed the Bilderberg’s mysterious Executive Committee in session, and that the people running Bilderberg may be in touch with and/or controlled by an outside otherworldly force. What is this otherworldly force? None of the major Bilderberg Group researchers elaborate on such an element. So at this point, I will outline what my exopolitics research has revealed about this otherworldly element in Bilderberg Group meetings.

The first Bilderberg meeting in 1954 had multiple reasons to convene. The public justification was that it was held to promote political and economic cooperation between Europe and North America as the best defense to what was now perceived as the long term threat of communism. To that end, prominent business and political leaders have been regularly invited to Bilderberg Group on an annual basis to discuss ways of coordinating national policies and anticipating global trends. Among the many notable individuals involved with Bilderberg Group meetings over the decades since its formation, Daniel Estulin gives special mention to the role of Henry Kissinger who was a protégé of the Rockefeller brothers who were instrumental in the Group’s creation. While Estulin identifies some of the Bilderberg Group’s key players, he does not discuss Bilderberg's otherworldly origins and goals.

Key personnel and agencies involved in the formation of the Bilderberg Group reveal that its hidden purpose was to encourage global cooperation in response to a perceived long term threat known to Bilderberg’s creators: the Central Intelligence Agency; the Rockefeller brothers; Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands; and Kissinger. This long term threat was only shared on a need-to-know basis, and emanated from World War II events involving Nazi Germany’s advanced technology programs. Events which Nelson Rockefeller, Kissinger, and the CIA & its OSS predeccessor, became deeply intimate with during and immediately after the War – Nazi attempts to reverse engineer extraterrestrial technologies for the war effort.

The main task of the Bilderberg Group was to coordinate the nations of the world so that any information gained by any nation pertaining to extraterrestrial life and technology was to be sent to the right place for research and development. A highly secretive second Manhattan project that had begun in the United States under President Truman to deal with the alien life and technologies was expanded to include other nations in a globally coordinated effort. Eisenhower’s election in November 1952, offered his chief supporters, the Rockefeller Family, the opportunity to have greater corporate involvement in the now ‘global’ Manhattan Project.

The Rockefeller brothers (Nelson and David) along with Henry Kissinger, were instrumental in shaping the Eisenhower government’s response to extraterrestrial technologies using Cold War covert operations as a cover, and helping set up the Bilderberg Group for that purpose. The Bilderberg Group would meet to coordinate national policies so that humanity would have the best chance of surviving the challenges posed by visitation of different extraterrestrial factions with unknown agendas.

A vital part of the Bilderberg Group agenda was to ensure that the global media and national legislatures would not learn about an extraterrestrial presence, or of the coordinated national contributions to a globally coordinated Manhattan Project. Funding a global Manhattan Project, let alone the U.S. element that was at its core would be a monumental task. The global Manhattan Project would cost hundreds of billions in the 1950s, and eventually grow to trillions to fund each year. It would have to be funded in a way that the mass media and national legislatures would not discover what was happening. This funding came from diverse sources such as CIA front companies, insider trading, “black gold”, international drug trade, etc. This was a key reason why international bankers were prominent in Bilderberg Group meetings. International banking offered the means for transferring enormous sums of illicitly generated money to this unacknowledged Global Manhattan Project.

If knowledge of extraterrestrial life and technology was the real reason behind the formation of the Bilderberg group, then exactly how does this otherwordly element relate to those running Bilderberg, and international banking families? Answers emerge from a mysterious individual called “Hidden Hand” that participated in a public dialogue in the popular internet forum, Above Top Secret in Octoberr 2008. According to the Hidden Hand, secret elite groups control our planet and have been doing so for millennia. The basic idea is that a select group of families with distinct bloodlines have accumulated power and pass this on from one generation to another. The Hidden Hand reveals the number of core bloodlines making up "The Family" is thirteen. Of the thirteen base bloodlines, the Hidden Hand says that only three are indigenous to Earth. The rest have off-world origins, the so called Fallen Angels or Nephilim as described in the Book of Enoch. S/he clearly identifies where the most power is found among the thirteen bloodlines:"I want to be clear on this Bloodline issue. The ones you know, they are of earthly lineage. Yes, they have their place in the Family, but the Real Power lines, do not originate from this planet. Did Mr B witness a meeting where members of these ruling bloodline families were speaking in their native non-human language at a Bilderberg Group event?

There are many significant global events and processes that are being discussed at the 2012 Chantilly meeting of the Bilderberg Group. For a majority of the participants, the Bilderberg Group discussions are merely a means of promoting international cooperation in the leading political, financial and technological issues of the day. Those protesting the Bilderberg meeting see it as a tool for achieving the goals of international banking interests and can rightly point to key individuals such as David Rockefeller in Bilderberg Group meetings. After all, Rockefeller claimed in his Memoirs (2003):

Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure — one world, if you will. If that is the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.

In probing deeper into the Bilderberg mystery and key people involved with it, one ultimately encounters an otherworldly factor in its genesis and confidential discussions. Mr B’s experience casts light on this otherworldly or extraterrestrial element.

The prominent individuals and agencies involved in originally creating the Bilderberg group in 1954 did so with the intent of promoting international coordination in responding to an unannounced extraterrestrial presence that threatened elite global interests. Indeed, these elite global interests may themselves have an otherworldly origin, and see extraterrestrial visitors as competitors for the control of Earth and humanity. It’s worth emphasizing that these elite global interests intimately involved in the Bilderberg Group have very different goals to the global interests of humanity. Casting light on Bilderberg Group meetings is a step in the right direction of learning about humanity’s hidden past, possible future, and the otherworldly present.
The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.

SEE WHO'S BUSTING BILDERBERG WIDE OPEN

Over 1,000 protesters, pair of news hounds show up to expose truth

CHANTILLY, Va. – An intense and amplified police presence outside the Westfields Marriott Convention Center greeted the more than 1,000 protestors of the Bilderberg Conference on Day 3 of the secret conclave that gathers global leaders of finance and government.
More than 35 uniformed police officers guarded the primary entrance of the Westfields Marriott, where Bilderberg attendees were quickly shuttled in and out amidst a hail of verbal assaults from protestors, the primary question constantly being asked by those in crowd being why these world leaders were meeting behind closed doors and a wall of armed security.

“We know you are in there, the world knows you are in there, and we know what you are up to,” shouted radio personality Alex Jones into a bullhorn, with a crowd of more than 250 Bilderberger protestors gathered around him, most waving American and Gadsden Flags, many more shouting into bullhorns of their own.

With only a 400-yard partially barbed wire temporary fence separating the Westfields Marriott from the protestors – and a small army of uniformed police walking around the forest buffer surrounding the convention center – Jones organized chants of “The answer to 1984 is 1776,” “USA, USA,” and, “Get out of our Country,” directed squarely at the Bildbergers.

Jones, who hosts the radio program “The Alex Jones Show” and runs the popular news site Infowars.com, spoke to WND while simultaneously streaming his own show live, saying, “You guys are one of the groups trying to bring down the Berlin Wall when it comes to the truth.”

Comparing the Bilderberg Conference to the shadowy globalist group that controlled S.H.I.E.L.D. in this summer’s mega blockbuster “The Avengers,” Jones said that the United States was losing its sovereignty to a cabal of unelected and unaccountable globalists with the ultimate goal of subjugating the U.S. military to the control of the United Nations and NATO generals.

“It’s funny, when you watch that movie you ask yourself, ‘Who is S.H.I.E.L.D. taking their orders from?’” Jones asked, “This is exactly what the Bilderbergers represent, with the ultimate goal being the end of American sovereignty under a global government.”

On a related note, Wired.com reported that the Pentagon pulled out of working on “The Avengers” film, because they couldn’t ascertain who the fictional, multinational peace-keeping organization answered to.

“We couldn’t reconcile the unreality of this international organization and our place in it,” Phil Strub, the Defense Department’s Hollywood liaison, told Wired.com. “To whom did S.H.I.E.L.D. answer? Did we work for S.H.I.E.L.D.? We hit that roadblock and decided we couldn’t do anything [with the film].”

“That is the ultimate goal of Bilderberg, the end of American sovereignty and the implementation of a globalist elite that controls every aspect of your life,” said Jones, who despite being drenched in sweat, seemed to be gaining energy as the protests went on.

Daniel Estulin, author of “The True Story of the Bilderberg Group,” contends the idea behind each and every Bilderberg meeting “is to create what they themselves call the aristocracy of purpose between European and North American elites on the best way to manage the planet.”

“In other words,” Estulin told WND in an email exchange in which he answered questions, “the creation of a global network of giant cartels, more powerful than any nation on Earth, destined to control the necessities of life of the rest of humanity.”

This year the meetings in Chantilly run through June 4. Most of the group’s meetings are in Europe.

Four years ago there were rumors that Barack Obama had been picked as the Democratic presidential nominee. Two days after the event, Hillary Clinton bowed out.

Observers also point out George H.W. Bush attended in 1985. He became president in 1988. Bill Clinton attended in 1991. He became president a year later. Tony Blair attended in 1993. He became prime minister of England in 1997. Romano Prodi attended in 1999. Later that year he became president of the European Union Commission. In 2004, Sen. John Edwards spoke to the group. He was later anointed the Democratic vice presidential nominee by presidential candidate John Kerry.

Estulin said some people go off the deep end and try to see more than the Bilderberg Group is. That’s not needed, he said, because what’s already there “is and of itself is a pretty significant factor.”

He described the group as “a vehicle through which private financier oligarchical interests were able to impose their policies on what is nominally sovereign governments.”

Estulin will not be in attendance this year, because he is not permitted to travel into the U.S. But he is sending a representative in his place. He believes the meetings are among the most important events to take place in the world every year.

“Bilderberg is not some group of demonic world leaders sitting around a table staring into a crystal ball,” Estulin told WND. “In the U.S., a lot of people mistakenly believe there are secret societies, a very small group controlling the dynamics of the entire world, instead of understanding Bilderberg as a processes-, ideas- and themes-shaping organization.

“Bilderberg is not a bogeyman. But it is a powerful organization. It’s a medium for bringing together financial institutions – the largest, predatory institutions in the world – which acts in ways that are now the worst enemy of society.”

He said at the center of the campaign is the idea that the resources of the world belong not to the people, but to the minority who have power and influence.

“All these people want an empire,” Estulin explained. “They don’t want the people of the world to develop, to prosper, to grow the population. They want us to work for them, where our children and our children’s children work for an elite group, the oligarchy. If people participate in the ideas shaping the world, if a nation is allowed to grow its own food, develop its own natural resources, be truly self-governing, it would end the Bilderbergers’ oligarchy.”

The meetings are private, invitation-only for about 150 individuals from the worlds of politics, business, finance, energy, media and nobility. No resolutions are voted on, no minutes are taken and no statements are issued.

Estulin has cited David Rockefeller’s own admission. Rockefeller, a Bilderberg member, wrote: “Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure – one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.”

In 2009, Bilderberg Chairman Etienne Davignon boasted that the Euro single currency was a recommendation of the Bilderberg group.
