Prince Charles's public funding increases by 11.8%

Public funding for Prince Charles increased by 11.8% during 2011/2012, accounts for Clarence House show.
The accounts showed the Prince of Wales's funding from grants-in-aid and government departments rose from £1,962,000 in 2010/2011 to £2,194,000.

The cost of travel by air and rail for the prince and the Duchess of Cornwall to attend official engagements was £1,318,000, up from £1.08m.
The prince's private income from the Duchy of Cornwall rose by 3% to £18.3m.
After deducting business expenditure the prince paid £4,496,000 in tax at the 50% rate.
Of £9.38m spent on official and charitable duties, £6.7m - or 68% - went on staff costs.

More infuriating pish here

"Prince Charles gives little back to the country yet has a deeply held sense of entitlement when it comes to accessing public funds. We believe time is long overdue that the government brought royal spending under proper control."

Time to moon him :moon: , strip him of his funding, and make him spend at least one 24 hour period on the streets.
Not British so not really my business, but any self righteous fool deserves a good lashing... *raises hand* I volunteer to tie him up so the public can gather and get a go at him :rokhit: (we don't have a lashing emoticon, therefore we are using the stoning one)

I've heard certain people claim the royal family are lizards. How offensive.

Poor everyday lizards crawling around :( , getting thrown in the same pot as the royals... they're over-sized lizards that are parasite, sucking on blood, and reveling in the stench of their betrayal of the subjects whose money they be spending.

Can I tie him up now?

Take a look no further than those childrens shoes one walks in, lizards all and one if they ever walk the talk.

Otherwise the hypocritical oath was a lie.

Just saying.

A hypocrite does not take an oath but if they did, you would expect it to be a lie.
I believe you are confusing it with the Hippocratic oath, which is/used to be taken by physicians.
Just saying. :)

That's right, those that go to confession after walking in shoes made in childrens eyes after breaking the commandment, though shall not steal, or getting pissed on a saturday night after taking food from childrens mouths as tithings and letting them either eat or run bare foot.

Tops.

Queen costs taxpayers extra £200,000

The cost to the taxpayer of supporting the British monarchy has risen by £200,000 in the last financial year, Buckingham Palace accounts show.

The Queen's official expenditure increased from £32.1m in 2010/11 to £32.3m in 2011/12.

There were reductions in the Civil List, most of which pays Royal Household wages, and the cost of running Buckingham Palace press office.

But spending rose on both royal travel and upkeep of royal residences.

The palace pointed out that expenditure had fallen by 26% in real terms from a level of £36.5m three years ago.

"When the chancellor of the exchequer announced his plans for public expenditure to reduce by 25% in real terms over a four-year period, the Queen was very keen that the Royal Household should play its part in reducing its expenditure accordingly," said Sir Alan Reid, keeper of the privy purse.
