Following on from another thread.

Deja vu.

What is it? Do you get it/them?

I haven't had one for ages as it happens but it's the strangest feeling when you do. There are some "spiritual gurus" who say that it's a reminder that you are on the life path you chose for yourself before you came here and you are right on track where you are supposed to be.

Or can it all be explained away by science? A momentary abberation of the brain?

I just found out this morning only 70% of the population get them when I thought eveybody did.
I did what I thought was best at the time and when I knew better I did better. :)

I experience it quite often, but don't know what it's about. I'm not sure how it can be a reminder of something like that, since it doesn't actually remind you of anything like that, and instead leaves you a bit puzzled.

Personally, I think De Ja Vu is a glimpse into the illusory nature of time.
It is our consciousness skipping forward and backwards through time, a glitch in the matrix, if you like.
With any spiritual experience, the thing to do is acknowledge it and say thankyou, in my personal opinion it is your soul trying to get your attention, so give it some :)

I've had incidents fairly often but tend to go along with the suggestion that it's the sub-concious registering the event a fraction of a second before the concious mind does and therefore creates the sensation of a recollection/memory.

I used to think that, but there've been a couple of times it's happened over the years when I've been able to tell people what subject of conversation they were going to bring up next, and they've confirmed it.

Yes it can seem like youve been there before, doing the same crap (and making the same choices/mistakes) all over again.

Its why i dont like it. :noway: :hahano:

Apparently there are different kinds so one person's deja vu may be different to another's.

That sounds more like some form of clairvoyance. Have you ever explored that side of yourself?

yes, I've had things happen that seem like clairvoyance, but they're few & far between, and I don't have any control over it.

I agree but I do not believe time is linear in a purely backward or forward dimension.
I see also a lateral dimension - Time going sideways infinitely (left or right if you want to think of it that way) Any or every second in time has an unlimited event possibility until the next second begins. Obviously each second can be broken down into its miniscule divisions to carry on the theory - but, time is essentially a concept posited by man, and I guess, in reallity, it is much more multi-faceted/dimensional that any of us can currently comprehend.
So my current theory is that time goes backwards and forwards but it also goes sideways (at least) Thats my starting point :D

Just came across this when posting a link to an article for another thread and it made me remember this thread:

www.wakingtimes.com/2013/04/06/how-we-create-reality/
Each time your self-programmed future events manifest into your reality (happen), the collective subconscious notifies you of this event by inducing the dejavu feeling upon you. It’s not saying, “You’ve been here before.” It’s saying, “Remember this program? Your order is now being served.” But, this feeling of familiarity can sometimes come over you when your surroundings are nothing like the daydream program you’ve been repeating in your mind. That’s because it’s not the actual event, but indication of a doorway leading to the event, perhaps telling you which fork in the road to take. So, whenever you’re in an unfamiliar situation, but you’re feeling dejavu, pay careful attention to everything around you to see if you can feel which doorway or which path to take. But, generally the dejavu feeling happens when you’re in the actual event you’ve been programming. And, the more times you’ve daydreamed the image, the stronger the dejavu feeling will be when it happens.

The article/blog is talking about manifesting your own reality, in very general terms. Hence, dejavu is a nod from the universe/god/your soul that something you've been asking for is imminent (whether or not you even realise you've been asking for it is quite another matter).

I'd never heard the two theories linked like this though, so thought I'd share. QI...

Interesting thread right here. And yes, I experience this from time to time. Once a de ja vu type of thing probably saved my life. I was passing a road, there was a tight curve on my right with a building on the other side, covering the visibility behind the curve. Just when I was about to step on to the road I sort of saw what would happen. There came a red car, really fast from that curve to my right and it hit me. And maybe a second or two after, the car came, if I would have kept walking it would have hit me. Although this was bit different, usually I get a de ja vu in every day situations, with nothing special or dangerous going on.

I now live quite an isolated life and can say that I've not experienced Deja Vue in some time. Does anyone else only experience it when busy in their life with other people on a day to day basis?

I've had it quite a few times when on me own as well with others.
