Actually, when I have a look at the cards with reference to a focused question, the same cards do appear time and again however me being a tiny sample size doesn't support the theory that the non local mind will feel out the same cards or that they will appear in the correct order - why? The mind/subconscious isn't in suspended animation it's in constant flux of change, and this is getting to a core point with reading cards, it isn't fortune telling nor is the future set in stone but rather it is an energetic weather forecast of the possibilities and probabilities within and outside of you, freewill is always going to have the last word.
If anything I think the Tarot is excellent for looking at past events, as the saying goes, life is lived forward and understood backwards - it's a good tool for any Jungian, Campbell fans who like to get their teeth into the neuralverse.

Of those I've known that can, it seems like the cards are used more as a guide and in addition to heightened senses/psychic ability, imo.

As you mentioned before, once a meaning is assigned to a symbol, the subconscious can better understand and translate possible meanings. From what your average Joe knows of the workings of the subconscious and 'higher mind' or 'source', you could be forgiven for not believing a word of it. Personally, I think it's a very clever tool to use to help the reader get straight to 'source', for want of a better word.

The truth is, it is the reader and the person being read to (to an extent) that are actually doing the work.
What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow: Our life is the creation of our mind.

Deffo Abs, they are a intuitive guidance tool. Always a validation here, or shock to the system there to be had from the unveiling of the cards lol. And the fun goes onto a whole new level when you assign card spreads, that opens the reading up to another level. :scotty:

I don't think Jung was an obscurantist,

The Swiss psychologist, Carl Jung, saw all of the Tarot images as "descended from the archetypes of transformation" (Jung, 1959/1990, p. 38). These archetypes include several of the primary archetypes that are encountered during Jung's individuation process, a process of psychological maturation similar in nature to the aging of the physical body (Jacobi, 1942/1973)

. These include the shadow, the anima and animus, and the wise old man.

The Tarot also contains symbols representing other important archetypes of transformative processes such as the hero, the sacrifice, rebirth, the mother, and the Self. In Jung's analytical psychology, these archetypes comprise the major dynamical components of the unconscious which affect the human psyche in many different ways.

But if that's your Wikipedia backed opinion, have it your way humanspirit.

chandrakavi could you please explain in scientific terms how tarot works.

Which force is at work?

Obviously the choice of card is just random, that being so then the face of the card is immaterial as there is no link to the person being read for.

It all boils down to the interpretation the reader puts on the card,as the specific card is immaterial the reader should just give their opinion without the cards, that would be more honest wouldn't it?

A neighbour once invited me to her house, to meet a reader - there were quite a few of us who went. I only know the neighbour to say hello to in passing.

This woman doing the tarot readings was phenomenal.

She told me there was someone from the other side who wanted to make her presence known. She described her as looking like me, and being a strong character, and had passed over relatively young. One of my mum's sisters died aged 42, and was quite like me in looks, so I decided it might be her. She did no fishing for info whatsoever.

The message from her was to tell my sister not to go ahead with the house purchase she was contemplating, because it would be financial suicide. My sister had only told me that day that she was considering buying an expensive house, and nobody else knew about it.

I found it pretty impressive.

She said the cards just helped to open a door, & it was down psychic ability rather than actually reading the cards.

I have already explained it has to do with THE ARCHETYPES, humanspirit

With the UNCONCIOUS mind.

With Intuition.

No, it does not all boíl down to personal interpretations, once you understand the meaning of the cards, you simply transmit what
the group of cards are saying, that's why it's called A READING.

Without the cards? That's like saying why use the book, why not read without it.; just like the book means different things with putting the letters together, making different words, the Tarot cards have Many different symbols, colors, drawings, and other meanings in different ways.

Read a book on Tarot, there you will find the meaning of Each card, each card has a name and a number.

In my opinion the force at work, is a number of things, mainly the unconcious mind, the psyche, and as I have mentioned before,
THE PSYCHOLOGICAL ARCHETYPES.

Find out about them, it's quite an adventure believe me.

Slightly off topic, but many many moons ago I used to use the Mah Jong cards for doing readings.

From your descriptions above it was the same thing really.

I don't know anything about the Mah Jong cards.

Our Tarot card for us now is ACE OF WANDS

By now, you should be seeing a theme unfolding with all of these symbols. These symbols tell a story about our life path. It's been a tough road to take with challenges and perhaps some wrong-turns in direction. We've even felt alone in our path from time to time. But dawn has broken, and the light of our internal fortitude has broken through the dim haze of our vision. We are now re-energized. Our victory is now at hand, and our persistence is now rewarded.

The ace of wands Tarot card meaning is all about taking our internal creative fire in hand and holding it out far all the world to see. Now is our time to spread our warmth, passion, and vision to others. Now is our time to shine as beacons unto the world.

Though he was a practising clinician and considered himself to be a scientist, much of his life's work was spent exploring tangential areas such as Eastern and Western philosophy, alchemy, astrology, and sociology, as well as literature and the arts. Jung's interest in philosophy and the occult led many to view him as a mystic, although his ambition was to be seen as a man of science. His influence on popular psychology, the "psychologization of religion", spirituality and the New Age movement has been immense.

Was Carl Jung a Nazi?

Quote from The State of Psychotherapy Today 1934 by Jung.
The 'Aryan' unconscious has a higher potential than the Jewish." "The Jew who is something of a nomad has never yet created a cultural form of his own and as far as we can see never will, since all his instincts and talents require a more or less civilized nation to act as host for their development." "The Jews have this peculiarity with women; being physically weaker, they have to aim at the chinks in the armour of their adversary.

In an interview on Radio Berlin in 1933, Jung stated:
As Hitler said recently, the Fuhrer [sic] must be able to be alone and must have the courage to go his own way. But if he doesn
't know himself, how is he to lead others? That is why the true leader [Fuhrer, again] is always one who has the courage to be himself, and can look not only others in the eye but above all himself.... Every movement culminates organically in a leader, who embodies in his whole being the meaning and purpose of the popular movement

I am not interested in this Jung quotes , I started this thread on the Tarot cards on this Forum, nothing else.

i did find this about it though,

pandc.ca/?cat=carl_jung&page=jung_nazis

The anti-Semitism charges in the 1930's were dismissed as having been started by a vengeful Sigmund Freud in order to discredit Jung's work (Sherry, 1986).

These accusations, however, were continually repeated by Freudians and stuck with Jung wherever he went. It is true that a superficial glance of Jung's attitude concerning Freudian psychology seems frighteningly similar to Nazi phraseology. Jung referred to the Freudian school of thought as subversive, depreciatory, undermining, obscene, and smutty-minded, while the Nazis described Jews as alien, subversive, lascivious, and parasitic (Stern, 1976). His statements may have sounded anti-Semitic but Stern (1976) proposes they were more correctly attributable to the resentment that periodically overcame him; he may have overshot his initial target, which was undoubtedly Sigmund Freud (Stern, 1976).

These anti-Semitic accusations by Freudians, Jung warned, were a confirmation that psychoanalysis was a Jewish psychology (Sherry, 1986). It seemed that no one, without facing charges of anti-Semitism, could criticize Freud's work. Did Jung's resentment of Freud arise because he was anti-Semitic? It is more likely that this tension between the two grew out of their necessary separation as coworkers and colleagues.

This thread is on the Tarot, not on Racism, of which no one is interested in here.

It's better in person, and on line I sometimes do it to some of my friends who are interested The important thing is the question asked, and the answer by the Tarot.

I merely started this thread to see how the SZ, is doing, compared to the DIF.

Nevertheless Andyh, i took a card for you, no question asked to the Tarot , simply telling you something.

:)

Meaning Of Tarot Cards 4

Nine Wands

Nine of Wands

Upright: When the Nine of Wands appears, it is asking you to reach down deep inside yourself and find the energy you need to keep going. You may have overcome obstacles including illness, to reach where you are - but you're not quite where you want to be.

One last push and you'll be on the peak of that mountain. Remember too that you need success to emanate from within you to reflect what is on the outside. Sometimes the Nine of Wands says that you don't fully accept of feel comfortable with your successes. Believe in yourself first, and others will too.
