Freshly-caught lobster...boiled for 20 minutes, then some freshly-squeezed lemon...

Cheers jhado :shlap:

*not that I could afford a bloody lobster, but still

All of those lobsters are caught around the uk coast, and yet, it's seen as a continental dish. Everywhere else in europe, they all eat loads of fish, we don't unless it's battered, and most of these fish-scoffing countries are getting a lot of their fish from our waters, and from our fishing fleets. We flog all the good stuff abroad.

Why do all the continentals woof fish down, and cook it in lovely ways too, and we, who live on an island don't?

RANT OVER...lie down Dad, take a pill.

No, no feckin' lobster-shops, but they should be everywhere.

Most folks don't know what Scrapple is. As far as we're (American Southerners) concerned, it's a Yankee food and thus poisonous.

It's really not poisonous.

I ain't never bought lobster either.

I dove for them bugs!

Literally. They hide in the ocean floor and canal 'shelves'.

Advice: Remove all shiny jewelry when lobstering.

1. So you don't lose it.

2. It's been my experience that barracudas are attracted to bright, shiny objects. Just sayin'. If you leave them alone, they will leave you alone.

Link: Personal Experience.

3. When you go to Rick's in Key West on Duval Street, you can spin yarns with the other lobster-ers.

Isn't Haggis some kind of vicious, toothy predator that thankfully decided to stay 'over there' when the continents separated?

Unlike The Loch Ness Monster, whose sibling lives in Michigan or whatever up there?

Still, we have Sasquatch. Many hats, T-shirts, coffee mugs, bumper stickers, et al, have been sold and great profit realized. :usa:

The "real" Haggis-Circulonem have one leg shorter than the other, to run around hills and escape predators(chip-shop owners...etc). Which of their legs is the longest? depends on which side of the hill the Haggis is born, running left or right?

Isn't evolution amazing?

We've heard of meatloaf in our house - hubby makes a damn fine one! (Sadly, I couldn't cook if my life depended on it so he does most of it! :emb: )

The recipe involves pork mince, beef mince, an onion, an egg, breadcrumbs, a packet of stuffing mix, mixed herbs and tomato puree. I don't know how "authentic" it is but it's delicious!

On the subject of "devil food", my "hate list" would contain the following: liver, olives, Brussel's sprouts, cooked carrots, avocado pears and liquorice allsorts!

Food heaven includes: peanut butter, chocolate, my OH's curry, my Mum's coq au vin, cheese (although my digestive system can't handle too much dairy!) and buttered crumpets!

But I'm naked, woman. Always naked. So where ever you thought you saw me putting those keys, I'm afraid you were sorely mistaken.
