Luckily I live on a hill so rains aren't bad and we didn't get the flooding everyone else did. My garden veg isn't doing so well, lettuce? forget it.. Broccoli is bolting. potatoes are miniscule, and gawd knows how the sweetcorn is gonna ripen without any sun!!

Is there anything to be said for saying another Mass? A real-life Bishop Brennan is encouraging people to pray to put an end to our soggy summer.

Bishop Denis Brennan from the diocese of Ferns is planning to offer prayers this weekend after the continuing rain forced the cancellation of a major agricultural show in County Wexford.

His call for prayer has reportedly been reproduced in local newsletters and online.

Bishop Brennan was spurred into action after he met a local farmer who told him of the effect the weather is having on his crops.

The rain in the UK doesn't bother me one bit. Of course it's because I live in Canada and presently we haven't seen rain in over a week, and it's been very nice since the end of May. Bit of a heatwave the last few weeks, but now it's steady at 24 - 27 C and very little humidity. It's gorgeous.

We could use a little rain actually.

Apparently its monsanto who will benefit. We are getting all the weather which should be happening in USA so their crops are all failing. Thats how HAARP works supposedly, by taking weather from one place and dumping it elsewhere - then farmers have no option but to accept the GM seeds. Personally I love rain, but wouldnt mind a bit of sun. Agree with Mrs Dubs - and the weather should pick up for the oylmpics to add to the feel good factor - much like how weather was nice for the royal wedding.

I am just get on with life as normal people, so should everyone else, worry about it when you are ill.

We will probably know for sure whether the UK has weather modification technology or not come the Olympic games. If ever there was a good time to make sure it's sunny it would deffo be the Olympics. If it continues to piss down I'm going to write off all the weather modification stuff.

Piddling down in Preston.

Mainly poor crops from my mum's & sister's allotments (had to give mine up on resuming full-time work ). The cost of veg in shops is already rocketing too.

I'm sure you're right about the weather effecting people's frame of mind, Shodan.

For what it's worth, I heard a weather report saying we're going to get some good weather next week.

The kids' summer hol's start here next week, so they need to be able to get outside on their bikes for the sake of parents' sanity!
