Just say a step or two above fast food, how much is a meal cost,if 20 bucks is about 12 pounds UK.
A medium priced meal in a good Mexican restaurant here would be about 7 to 10 dollars, and a more pricey meal would be 15 to 20 bucks at a cheaper nice restaurant,above that I don't mess with.

So I would guess you can eat at a nice place for under 12 pounds easy right?

Depends on what type of food you want... and what you want to drink with it. I know you can get haddock (fish) with fries for like 9-10 pounds, add in coffee for like 1-2 pounds or tea for around the same. Draft is 3-4 pounds if memory serves correct. Then it also depends on where your going... if you're planning a trip may want to get some cafe/restaurant recommendations in the specific area, then look up the menu's for the places so you can plan ahead.

The restaurant I took her to was the dogs bollox lol, it was for valentines day 2006, the 3 day cruise for both of us to Norway and back was only 70 quid so I could spare the 220 for the restaurant.
