In light of the unfortunate recent events that resulted in a member having to be banned from sanctumzone, certain additions regarding the use of avatars as a means of attacking other members, or as a form of abuse generally, will probably have to be incorporated into our T&C's.

None of this is something we want here obviously, but the need for it is there as we are sure you all realise.

Looks good to me. In the past they tried to make IL be part of DIF, without our knowing, but couldn't. See to it that this forum cannot be legally said to be part of a DIF forum, in anyway. Just a thought.

My tuppence worth - It seems logical to me that responsibility for posts essentially lies with those submitting them, and that SZ cannot be held responsible for defamatory or libelous claims, etc. Well, something like that. I don't see why the onus should shift from an individual to a website offering a forum for free speech.

Second - With regard to anyone posting their own creative material, I'd find it difficult to agree to a website having free license to use it however they wish at any future time. I think there needs to be some kind of proviso that any such copyright material would only be used with the permission of the originator. It's a bit of a minefield, I know, as is the whole copyright thing these days (which is why aspects are apparently being overhauled).
