My idea is to lose the ego, try not to reply to dodgy posts (we all know the type) - Maybe I have done dodgy posts ? If I have, then dont reply to it. If someone replies to MY dodgy post with one of THEIR dodgy posts, then I should ignore their post - If we continue with the BS that is happening on the forum at the moment, then the forum is f*cked.

Whilst this forum is still young, maybe we could try out my idea as an experiment, and see what happens :)

Btw If you feel that THIS is a dodgy thread/post, then please lose your ego and dont reply, but IF YOU MUST REPLY, then do so, and if I feel it is a dodgy reply then I will TRY to moderate myself and NOT reply to you.

Cheers! :)

Now let's talk ? :D

(I'm being serious btw)

Sounds like controlling steevo.Dodgy post to who? Whos subjective ego is going to determine which one is dodgy? ;)

I'm talking of the posts that YOU consider dodgy (not me or anyone else) :) Therefore YOUR "subjective ego" will decide.

Am I being controlling ? Hmmm I dont know :conf: I dont think so. In everyday life we ALL use self control in order to not let our emotions get the better of us, cos if we didnt, then there would be eternal arguments and fights breaking out all over the place.

Maybe it's a type of manipulation (this thread) ? Let's face it, just about everything we write on here has manipulative effects. Everyone every day manipulates the situation in order to gain SOMETHING or to change someones mind. So this thread is no diffferent and neither is YOUR post :)

I'm just making a suggestion. And to clarify what I'm saying I would say this : Do NOT take part in this experiment if you dont want to :) Hows about that for yer Nirvana ?

if peeps get upset by it...guess what... it's a negative reflection, simply a mirror

if peeps get ecstatic by it...guess what...it's a positive reflection, simply a mirror

In response to LoneMyst

Yes you can do that, say whatever you wish and it's a reflection etc But you can also choose to not be wound up, and baited into replying. Freedom to speak and freedom not to speak. The beauty of it is, is that YOU decide (not me or anyone else) when to speak and when not to. You may say that we ALREADY do that, which we DO......, but we all surely must admit that we DO sometimes get into stupid egotisical, emotion driven arguments that are detrimental to the forum (eg the DIF).

If we each had the capabilty of moderating oneself, then only rarely would an appointed moderator be required to do it for us. Things could then be discussed and maybe lead to positive conclusions.

Maybe if we each had an innate capability to govern oneself, then we wouldnt really need to have an appointed government.

Anyway, this is just an experiment that NONE of you are forced to take part in. It's just a suggestion. I'm gonna try to practice what I'm preaching here, and see how it goes. I'm already getting better at it. It can sometimes become a habit for me to post replies cos I get slightly annoyed by what I consider to be a dodgy thread post, and before I know it, it's took over my day, and got me nowhere, and the forum gets a bad vibe.
I was terrible in the first couple of years on the DIF, but I think that I have improved slightly :D

Freeing your mental energy from perpetually reacting to confirmatory or contradictory sound bites allows you to communicate holistically and constructively.

Please excuse my platitudes.
The meanings that are the most directly practical are the ones that are sacrificed: the flavor, aroma and touch are abolished to the profit of the delusions that permanently lead sight and hearing astray.

Yeah that sorta makes sense. Your platitudes are welcome here,....but whether I choose to reply to them is another matter (Just kidding gue ;) :) )
