Please dont let this forum go the way of the DIF.

My idea is to lose the ego, try not to reply to dodgy posts (we all know the type) - Maybe I have done dodgy posts ? If I have, then dont reply to it. If someone replies to MY dodgy post with one of THEIR dodgy posts, then I should ignore their post - If we continue with the BS that is happening on the forum at the moment, then the forum is f*cked.

Whilst this forum is still young, maybe we could try out my idea as an experiment, and see what happens :)

Btw If you feel that THIS is a dodgy thread/post, then please lose your ego and dont reply, but IF YOU MUST REPLY, then do so, and if I feel it is a dodgy reply then I will TRY to moderate myself and NOT reply to you.

Cheers! :)

Now let's talk ? :D

If someone makes a dodgy post that hurts your ego BADLY, and if you MUST reply, then do it in ONE post and tell them that you feel that their post is not acceptable TO YOU and MOVE ON. And if you are that person who posted that post (the post that is seen as "unnaceptable"), then accept that someone is unhappy with the post and apologise and a brief explanation (IF YOU MUST), but either way try NOT to bother replying to it.

Sorry I am typing this in a rush.

Good point.... I actually started a thread the other week about never arguing with an idiot, because they drag you down to their level and beat you with stupidity every time. And here I am, ignoring my own advice. I guess it is just ego, but in the midst of it, it's just about pointing out obvious flaws in logic or willful ignorance, taking for granted that other people reading it may be coerced or fooled by BS.

You're right. One solid post is enough.

Good post. I hope you (and I) act upon it, just as an experiment mind :)

Yea, let's keep the bs that ruined DIF away from here...

About these stupid forum arguments, I usually tend to just stay quiet when these happen, it's not always easy, but usually worth it. If there's nothing good to say, say nothing. That's a decent philosophy about this matter.

If only people were able to regulate themselves and get over their own ego. I try not to feed such things but maybe some people think I am a cause of problems too. Who knows. I have probably said it in other posts but I am really on this big kick right now inspired by Robert Anton Wilson to avoid "IS".. That leads to too much conflict I think. Agree to disagree or disagree respectfully. I think grown ups can talk about things without the forum going nuts. After all a forum of everybody agreeing and being nice will end up boring. Feel free to ignore this of course.

shall raise a glass to the premise of the op - I know I am as guilty of adding to some of the debates - I hope that I strike a balance though - can't promise to always keep my mouth shut about certain things as they are often things I feel very passionate about - but I shall endeavor to always post with respect and take responsibility for the things I say.

I like the cut of your jib steevo. ;)

Hopefully SZ won't become a hotbed of bickering. What you say makes perfect sense.

Good advice Steevo, I usually try to take a deep breath and step away from provocation. Not through fear, but boredom.
The only people I ever argued with on DIF were Daisy and Dr Hemp, but with good reason, imho.

However, I did throw a minor wobbly on here, early July, but that was 'cos I had been shat on, by someone who I had thought of as a true friend, someone who I could really trust on here. Then, just as I was going through a very difficult time, just when I needed their support the most, they dumped me with no explanation. This member has obviously moved onto their next mug/victim now. Unfortunately, I misdirected my dissapointment, and ended up in a minor brawl with another Member on here.

But, yes Steevo, let's do it! Good advice!

How can anything nice be boring? Are clouds boring, sunrise and sunset boring? all sorts of wonderful things can be even more fantasticly better than ever... if only people can imagine how fantastic "Good" can be, we could have wonderful amazing adventures full of brilliant stuff.
but i am not disagreeing, i think your post is pretty cool!
