Wot the thread title says.

Are anti-Agenda 21 people right and should we be concerned? Having glanced at my local Agenda 21 website, it seems relatively benign. Projects to reclaim and distribute old furniture, initiatives to grow food locally and energy saving ideas are all feature on the site. No hint of anything sinister, yet further research leads me to believe that we should be worried.

What do you think?

I've seen an article about it in the last couple of days, but despite it's attention grabbing opening, describing it as a declaration of war on mankind, I've bookmarked it to read later. What do you know about it Lesley?

*Edit* I'll give the link incase anyone wants to read it, but as I said, I've not got round to looking at it properly myself yet...

Well for starters, I think their plans to move people from rural areas to cities and high density living i suppose are a concern for people in rural areas, in our so called first world countries, as jobs start to disappear and then eventually land/houses they may have may become worthless or drop in value.

I wouldnt invest in property or land outside of those areas marked on UN maps that will contain major populations tbh, not as an investment anyway (to live on it is a different story)...inside the mapped areas, in the cities, i dont think you can go as wrong.

I think in Australia for example we are seeing Agenda 21 being implemented right now as some of the regional centres and traditional rural food producing areas are collapsing, mostly due to govt and corporate policy, (governments and corporations are one and the same now, politicians are just corporate representatives now) ...a lot of property for sale and few buyers, other than the really large acreages being bought by corporations.

I think what is happening below for example is Agenda 21, albeit disguised...many of the people in the videos below or their children will be forced into cities as the towns economies are killed off by complicit governments...

I could write quite a bit about this, but I'm afraid I haven't got the time at the moment, but it's worth watching the four videos below as they corroborate what Novum was saying, and I very much see this as being the direction that is being planned for now.

If you read this article:

www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-03-28/conven...by-2030-eu-says.html
The shift away from the 150-year-old combustion engine in urban transport should be completed by 2050, when all vehicles used in EU cities ought to be powered by low-emission technologies, the European Commission said.
In effect, they've already decided and begun to legislate cars out of existence. They're already thinking four decades into the future. I know you've listened to Alan Watt a fair bit, Lesley, and one of the things he often says is that the social engineers have the future planned out decades into advance. I do agree with him on this, I believe the social engineers have a very good idea of where they want to be, and I believe 2050 is a key year. It seems to be related, as andyh has suggested, to the fact that the world population is predicted to begin declining at about that point, but I think it goes deeper than that. It comes up again and again and again. I suppose that it is a convenient mid-point in the century, but I don't think this is sufficient reason in itself.

The EU already has its 2050 energy roadmap:

ec.europa.eu/energy/energy2020/roadmap/index_en.htm

Global Europe 2030-50 (you may note that the Bloomberg article also named the year 2030, this also crops up a lot as a seeming transition point):

ec.europa.eu/research/social-sciences/pd...ummary-report_en.pdf

Transport 2050:

europa.eu/rapid/pressReleasesAction.do?reference=IP/11/372

Reducing greenhouse gases: a roadmap for 2050:

europa.eu/legislation_summaries/employme...eu2020/em0045_en.htm

I could go on, but I just wrote a lot more than I meant to! But if you click here you can see the 496,000 results on the EU website for the word '2050'.

Anyway, here are the videos, this is, in my opinion, something like the future that the elite plan by 2050:

Just wanted to add that the whole agenda to stop people driving, and even travelling in general is very obvious.

My local Agenda 21 is based in Cheltenham, which is a very posh place. So, it's no surprise that most of the initiatives generally benefit that area and have little impact on other parts of the county.

Another worrying trend I noticed is that after involvement with local environmentalists, they are all quite affluent and any community projects seem to be in affluent areas. This is clearly because the people involved own renewable energy companies or consultancies and it's all basically marketing for them. One of the people I met drives a 4x4 and told me he is glad that petrol is on the verge of being unaffordable for many, as people will have to drive less and maybe get rid of their cars.

When I challenged him about the social injustice of this he laughed and told me that 'it's always been this way'.

This is what troubles me about the Agenda 21/green/environmental stuff. The people organising it often come from privileged backgrounds and have little regard for people who are of a lower class than themselves. As far as they're concerned everyone else should just live like peasants from what I can gather.

Also, it looks as though the term 'sustainability' means sustaining a certain standard of living for a few people, while everyone goes back to the dark ages.

This paragraph is rather enlightening...
Vision 21 promotes local solutions to the global sustainability issues of climate change, peak
oil, ecological debt, ecosystem destruction, food and water security. It works within
Gloucestershire to change attitudes and behaviour to enable individuals, communities and
businesses to adapt to these issues and live on a sustainable personal carbon allowance
and the resources of one planet.

www.vision21.org.uk/userfiles/V21_Strategic_Plan.pdf

Bearing in mind that this is coming from the UN, what do you lot make of this?

Anyway, I'm going to stop spamming my own thread now.

I just had a look on wikipedia, seems like a good idea to me tbh.

I think the principles are sound, but it's obviously going to result in the little guy getting shafted and this is what concerns me.

Several years ago, I and a gang of similar reprobates occupied and squatted an old school. The local church and council were conspiring to have it flattened as a part of the town regenerating that area. We set about altering the building to set it up as a community centre working along the lines of Agenda 21. We had a plan for the building to be as self sustaining as possible and for it to embody the Agenda 21 principle of communities helping themselves. I still stand by ALL of the principles we had in starting that project.
However, having learnt a bit more about Agenda 21, it would seem that it's a Trojan Horse. I agree with Lesley that it's not a grass roots path to a sustainable future at all. It's a corporate led manifesto for hijacking sustainability and using it to further enslave and limit the majority of people whilst maintaining corporate interest. It would appear to very much tie in with topics such as depopulation, eugenics etc. I see it as another example of taking something that is potentially very good and turning it into something very bad.
Like Globalisation. Seeing us all as one race living on one planet would be a very good thing. Removing a lot of the man made divisions would be a very good thing. That isn't what globalisation is about though is it....

It does seem to be about the money unfortunately. There is a town up the road that is a deprived area and the people there could really do with renewable energy projects. There is generational unemployment there, and so many people have no money to spend on pellet boilers or solar PV arrays, so no community Agenda 21 community projects for them!

However, in the posh parts of the Forest of Dean and Gloucestershire, they are setting up community trust funds for wind turbines and that sort of thing. This is linked to Agenda 21 and various organisations and businesses that make money from renewables (and shizzle like that). So, the people who live in the areas where they are running these projects will probably purchase ‘eco’ products for their own homes (to keep up with the Jones’s). Meanwhile, elderly people's heating bills are going up because of the feed in tariffs (even if that has been sort of addressed by the gubberment). People then have the temerity to bitch about personal responsibility and guilt trip those who are not being 'proactive' in saving the planet, hang on a moment, what about vulnerable people who are struggling with their utility bills already? It's totally fucking sick imo.

Agree with pretty much everything that's been said on this thread. I haven't got a lot of time to post at the moment, but I will just post this that even the relentlessly pro-climate change Guardian has printed:

www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/nov/03/al-...onflict-of-interests
Al Gore's green investments prompt conflict of interest row

One company in which Al Gore invested has contracts with utilities that received a combined subsidy of $560m (£340m) from the US energy department

The launch of Al Gore's new book this week has prompted questions about whether the former US vice-president's investments in green technology amount to a conflict of interest.

Gore's latest call to action over climate change, Our Choice: a Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis, has prompted a debate about his involvement in firms investing in the new green economy that he promotes.

The New York Times points out that one company in which Gore invested, Silver Spring Networks, has contracts with utilities that last week received a combined subsidy of $560m (£340m) from the US energy department. The payments, part of a total $3.4bn handed out by the federal government to encourage the distribution of environmentally-friendly power, are likely to be handsomely recouped by Gore and his associates.

The accusation that Gore is trapped in a conflict of interest has been raised periodically over the past few years. It is a barb popular among climate change sceptics and rightwing bloggers, as well as Republican politicians. Marsha Blackburn, a congressional representative from Gore's home state of Tennessee, tackled him over the issue in April during a subcommittee debate in Congress on the Obama administration's proposed cap-in-trade system for curbing emissions.

She referred to Gore's partnership of Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, a Californian venture capital firm that has put about $1bn into about 40 companies that will be bidding for contracts under the new system. "Is the legislation we are discussing here today something you are going to benefit personally from?" she asked.

Gore, audibly riled, replied that every penny he made from his investments was put back into his non-profit foundation to spread knowledge about the climate challenge. "If you believe that the reason I have been working on this issue for 30 years is because of greed, you don't know me," he said, adding: "Do you think there's something wrong with being active in business in this country? I am proud of it."

One of Gore's partners at Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers is John Doerr, who advises Barack Obama on dealing with the economic downturn.

Gore is also a founder of Generation Investment Management, based in London, which has substantial interests in green technology.
This barely scratches the surface, but it gives some indication of what is going on. It makes me laugh when people say that the corporations, the energy companies are against this. Why have they all got it on their websites then? They're all promoting something that they're supposedly against! Simple reason being, they can sell less product to people, for more money, get the costs of switching to 'green' electricity subsidised by planting trees in Africa, and get the consumer to fund the rest of the infrastructure, install smart meters all over the place so that they can even micromanage electricity usage, and carbon dioxide has already been added to the ever growing list of things that are traded at a rate of billions of dollars per year (and this market has only just begun). They're obviously not going to be against that.

Ive seen the site aswel and looks a good thing from one point of view but could also have have sinister motives. The problem is most of us have all become paranoid untrusting so even if a genuine project came about we would attack it :umm:

The only way we are going to get anywhere is for unity muslims, jewish, christian, socialists, nationalists etc putting their differences a side and looking at the bigger picture. I dont trust muslims but if i was part of a united group that had muslims there,. we may all find some common ground .

I suppose if you witness hundreds of muslims on a anti war march chanting death to Jews and your from a jewish family its natural to develop a certain prejudice. :umm:

One of my favourite astrologers has recently got a bee in his bonnet about Agenda 21. www.endagenda21.com/

I don't agree with everything he says, but his opinion is very interesting as he considers these things from an astrological point of view.

Look for me its about strengthening monopolies and the other things you mentioned Les, i agree with you that it is about sending the 'peasants' back to their tents so to speak, while the elite continue to enjoy all the perks of oil burning technology that the masses helped them to create and master.

Just print out some credits to offset it from their own companies they created and its all good and morally sound hey. :cool2:

My biggest beef is probably that we, our best years, are stuck in the middle of these big changes...if it was before or after, generally speaking the masses wouldnt know any better. :hide:

Essentially i see humans becoming more and more like battey hens...you either comply to the system and live in high density cities, or the only alternative will be to become a mountain man...with no inbetween, less choice in how you want to live, and an eroding middle class.

Globalisation is also part of it imo, real wage equalisation is what i call it...with border protections gone now, free trade, this model cant continue where people in UK/US/Australia etc earn comparitavely higher wages (much higher) than 3rd world, but 3rd world people do the same jobs and make the same products...i think a lot of people who dont know the agendas will be in for a shock eventually, at the moment the whole situation is a bit of a 'frog in a pot' scenario imo, but people will notice sooner or later.

Im quite sure the elite dont see it as sinister at all, just necessary...just as a farmer needs to continue to manage his herd to keep the whole thing going the way he wants.

Of course if you took their perks away they would cry like Justin Timberlake when he got punk'd, but that isnt going to happen.
