Which would you prefer happen to a individual or group who committed a capital crime against your family,or partner,or a close loved one other than family,where as there is a serious emotional attachment you have in particular

A high execution rate keeps the offenders from feeling like their life is spared, and relatively quick justice happens,but they get to live for a while.

Executing them keeps them from rotting in jail miserably,so is a life sentence more satisfying for you to know the offender has to face?

Personally, and I have given this some thought, neither option would give me much satisfaction.

I think life imprisonment and all that time to think about why they are serving that sentence and exactly what they did would be worse than any punishment either myself or my government could dish out.

Ain't nobody can punish you like 'you', in my experience.

As for death sentences, I think our government have already cornered the market in wholesale slaughter, so don't really need the green light from us, under the guise of protecting 'us'. Come to think about it, it'd probably be a multi-national corporation doing the actual deed these days, which to me would be worse than the old hang-man.

In any event, I don't think either option would stop people from committing 'crimes'. It hasn't after all these years and never will.

Imo, taking the life of a fellow human being should never even be an option. Ever.

My aunt got life in prison and was out in 13 years for a cold blooded murder she committed. She's never shown remorse. She's a vile bitch and she's still alive, spreading misery to anyone who will still talk to her. She should have been executed long ago. It really disgusts me that someone is dead because of her(a child orphaned) and she continues to breathe.

some people dont deserve to live after what they have done. it just depends. cut all their limbs off and tape em to a skate board. see how fun life is then.

This is such a difficult question! I am not by nature particularly vengeful but if someone did something terrible to a loved one of mine I would not be wishing them moonlight and roses! I have mixed feelings about the death penalty though - I understand it up to a point but it makes me feel a bit queasy, tbh. However, i think prison sentences in this country are risible. Many years ago I was assaulted (won't go into the gory details). The evil f****r was found guilty of the assault - I had to give evidence - but he only got 9 months inside! Pathetic! Still, at least he was found guilty and I was vindicated.

I guess I would lock 'em up somewhere grim and throw away the key...

Anguish and the loss that many good people have to endure, without fair revenge is unfair in my opinion.

I'm pretty easy going and don't like unpleasantness, but if anyone touched my son I'd want to personally rip them a new one. That's probably a parental thing and I reckon lots of people would feel the same.
