Ahah remember the old adage, "just cos you can't recall summfink, don't mean it never happened". ;)

Honestly Anthony, you're not the first to desire a bit more 'stuff', neither will you be the last.
It's almost part of the furniture in the living room of the SZ tbh :)

Anthony, every thread has it's place and purpose and every member here is important and has their own specialties, and areas of interest.

So I hope you're not thinking of leaving again. Get your arse back here man!

Oh God, no. I never said there wasn't a place for fluff, but I do feel there ought to be a healthy balance; not that I expect to change that on my own and I'll accept the general fluffiness or stuffiness of the forum. I'm more stuffy than fluffy, although I have my fluffy moments.

But any excuse to play the lonely man theme. :drama:

A ratio of one to 90 still isn't that great according to Yoshimoto. He reckons the overwhelming silliness will lead a catatonic state that reduces oxygen flow to the right side of the brain.

Or was it the left side? :dunno:

@ Anthony
And likewise overwhelming stuffiness would lead to a world I wouldn't wanna be in :)
On the whole I think SZ has achieved a pretty sound balance in it's life to date. Sometimes it swings one way or the other, that's perfectly understandable. I tend to get about a bit. I'm as much involved in the silly stuff as I am the serious stuff. Just lately my head has gone a bit serious and I've aired a few frustrations about things in general. Mostly related to what I perceive as the rise of apathy when it comes to taking action..... I think you yourself may have seen me air something along those lines last night.

No doubt this week at some point my personal balance will shift and some different chemicals will push me towards the silly side again. :dunno:

EDIT: the comment about the rise of apathy is a general one, not aimed at members of the SZ

Hmmm...Many of my postings and musings are related to the self. Existential stuff, who am I? What is my purpose? Life...WTF is it? etc. :chuckle:
Some of you guys are more hands on in that you're proactive in what you do, like what can we do, etc.
Okay, what the hell am I trying to say here? :emb: One can't change the world until one changes oneself...
Maybe I'm just a bit lazy and apathetic though :D Probably a mixture.

I'm not sure what my balance is...I think I'm more fluffy than serious.

I think I've got to solve my problems before I can solve the world's. Also, I've lived a kind of reclusive existence, I don't know shit :D So a lot of subjects I know nothing about, I do chime in on them with spontaneous conclusions though. Sometimes I should read more and post less...I love posting though :D

I just want to play really :emb:

There needs to be a balance though, there's a itme to play, and there's a time to get serious and take responsibility. I've been playing too much. Time waits for no man :clock: Life is short. I'm drifting. I need to get serious.

Dearest Anthony...I adore your postings and never meant to suggest that this thread was aimed at any one person. It is as much about the DIF stuff, as has already been pointed out, as it is about the silly to serious ratio.

I just thought it would be a good opportunity for us all to have an adult discussion about it. I think the bulk of the responses so far have proven what I suspected all along, in that I'm not alone in reading and enjoying some threads without actually taking part.

If there was a point to my posting this, then that must surely be it. Thank you all!!

And Anthony, you may have an extra special hug all your own.

I wasn't having a dig at you dub about what you said about the rise of apathy. It's a genuine concern of mine, I think I might be a bit apathetic, maybe it's just mild ADD though :D

I know mate  I put the edit in cos after reading your post,I was a bit worried that some might see my comment as being about this place and people here, which it wasn't. I'm just currently wanting to grab the citizens of the developed world and give them a darn good shake. That is of course mostly down to my own current head space.

I'm not even really more stuffy than fluffy! :rab:

But these are extraordinary times, and I'm aware, as many of us are, that things could get darker before the brighter.

And... I must confess... I love learning about life, the Universe and everything... :cavalier

Many of my best insights come when I'm being silly / playful. :joker:

The Universe seems to work like that. Especially when I'm close to nature. In fact, I try not to recommend stuff to people too directly, but encourage them to go out and find their own way, but getting close to nature is something I'd recommend to anyone. That's one of the advantages of gifting orgonite. You get out and about and visit places you normally wouldn't.
