Why do some people not get the Sanctum Zone?
Because it was born out of a petty squabble and it looks as though it is unable to shake the bad mojo of that to this day? Thats the feeling I am getting here, it seems that some of senior members here have a club mentality and are defensive of it with an inclination to one-upmanship.
Am I wrong?
I think you are in this instance, Toby. It may well be some people's experience of the place, but for everyone that doesn't like it here, I'd say we have at least five that do and stay with us.
I can't see how that would be happening if we were as exclusive as you seem to be implying. The only thing we won't tolerate here is bigotry and nastiness, and even then, that's after we've all agreed on exactly what we think constitutes said bigotry and nastiness.
It is very much a group effort. I just think some people don't respond very well to that, unfortunately.
Yeah, it is certainly my impression.
All this hyperbole...
" Our community is all about free speech where people can discuss or disagree on any topic, all in a pleasant atmosphere of mutual respect. Here at Sanctum Zone you will be made to feel at home among free thinking and open minded people just like yourself."
.....I am not feeling it.
I am sure this is a nice place for those who fell out with DI Forum to hang out but it seems a little cliquey and a few of the mods and older members seem a little cantankerous.
I really am sorry to read that, toby.
I think the bulk of us are over comparing this place to the DIF, tbh. Those sections that still exist are there because we as a group decided to keep them for newer members to air the grievances about the place for the most part.
I completely disagree with your view that this place is 'cliquey'. I certainly wouldn't come back here if it were.
And as for some of the mods being 'cantankerous'...well, maybe, in some people's opinion. However, the fact that I can call psketti a scabby bitch (and I frequently do) is testament I think, to the fact that this place is nothing like the DIF.
Perhaps either you or Master should start a thread to address the issue of mod 'neutrality' if you think it is an issue? Also unlike other forums, we like that kind of thing here.
