i would suggest that common sense says that if a partner is non responsive and does not wake up when kissed or from a gentle caress - trying more insistent and invasive measures are a no unless previously expressed as being a desirable way to be woken.

waking up to find someone penetrating you can be horrifying, disorientating and painful.

No never, and maybe I have been programmed but it just seems wrong to me.

It's never happened to me, and if it did I'd make no bones about telling my partner to "gerroff". IMHO if nothing else it's bad sexual manners. My OH wouldn't dream of doing it. I like (and need!) my sleep, for a start! Then again, we are both middle-aged, and the hormones aren't quite as raging as once they were lol!

However, although I personally wouldn't like it, if your partner doesn't mind, or doesn't ask you to stop, then I guess it's not a problem.

Having said that, some people do suffer from a condition known as "sexsomnia", whereby they have sex in their sleep - they've no knowledge of what they're doing.
