Yes people like that piss me off. I think there are reasons for such behaviour too. I am sure it is deep routed in being spoiled perhaps and stuff like that. I think sympathy and understanding is the best response.

I live in an area with very few coun­cil houses but nearly all of the houses around here are coun­cil house built and have been bought off the coun­cil by those liv­ing in them. There are a lot of snobs around here that clearly don’t like peo­ple who come from poorer back­grounds and have no option but to live in a coun­cil house and these snobs have an extreme uppity ‘Hyacinth Bucket’ atti­tude and yes it does piss me off.

Actually I can overlook the younger ones,the ones I'm mainly talking about are the old ones,over fifty who still have this spoiled nature and think their something special, and there's nothing more sickening than that,it had to have been something in their childhood that gave them this false sense of ego and being better..

Do they piss me off? Yeah, for a moment or two while I choke the urge to punch 'em just because I can, and they more then likely hit like a girl... then I confuse them, or insult them, they sputter for a moment or two and either they walk away or their still sputtering when I walk away.

I think some of it has to do with the uppity attitude and having to be that way and can't accept being insignificant. But I also believe they, or at least some of them, have an ego that needs to be stomped into the ground. I really don't think everyone has a place to stand and has to stay in that place, but sometimes IMO people need to be reminded of there being a place, whether they stand in it or not. Example: You don't try to tell me how to raise my son when you can't even manage to raise your own (or don't have kids, or at least younger siblings you helped raise)...those kinda people need to be reminded of the line between offering advice and acting like know it all's.

My parents brought us up to know that we were The Same As Monarchs And No Different From Beggars.

I remember as a child, this girl coming round to play with us and she had a new doll - which she shoved at us all the time to show us how new and beautiful it was and how much better than any of our dolls. Irritated, I told my mum, and she told me, "Let her have her moment of being as good as the rest of you. The child is only showing off because she's never had anything before". Which was true.

Some people never lose that and will only ever feel as good as you think their house/garden/car is.
